The Liebster Award

I’d like to thank Tangie (MRS. T’S CORNER) and Jo (joliesattic) for nominating me for the Liebster Award! It was so kind of you both to think of me when you were considering who to list. I hope all of you will check out their fine blogs because they consistently post wonderful articles, well worth the reading.

───── ⋆⋅Rules⋅⋆ ─────

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, and provide a link to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers
  4. Ask your nominees 11 questions
  5. Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

───── ⋆⋅Tangie’s Questions for Me⋅⋆ ─────

  1. Is blogging a passion, financial investment or both? It’s more of a passion for me. I don’t gain anything finanancially from it, although I once had an account where people could buy me a coffee. However, I haven’t had that on my site for quite some time. I just really enjoy writing my stories and interacting with my readers.
  2. How long have you been blogging? I had a blog on Weebly in 2014, but when I lost interest, my friend Bee suggested I start again on WordPress, which is what I did. I began this blog January 16, 2016.
  3. How often do you blog? My set schedule is once a week on Saturday’s, but sometimes, I post something on Wednesday, too.
  4. Approximately, how long does it take you to write a post? It takes me the entire week to write a chapter unless by some miracle, I’m ahead of the game. lol I usually know what I want in the chapter, then, I play the game, see what happens and if it changes my idea, and grab pics. Then, I write the chapter, put it through ProWritingAid to check grammar, and a plethora of other things. Once I’m satisfied with that, i send it to Bee who then edits it. She’s been my editor since Chapter 1.23, and I don’t ever want to do this without her input because she knows how to pull more emotion out of my writing. Anyway, after editing, it’s another rewrite, or sometimes just moving paragraphs around, changing words for better ones, etc.
  5. Are you the only blogger in the family? My dad and one of my sisters sometimes blog, although not recently.
  6. Is there a specific blogging topic you enjoy writing or reading? I tend to write more dramatic fare, romance, and sometimes dabble in supernatural fare. What I enjoy reading most is historical fiction, or historical nonfiction.
  7. What or Who inspired you to blog? I’ve always had a compulsion to write but never thought it was good enough to share. My friends Cynthia, and Bee have been my biggest inspirations and cheerleaders, though.
  8. Have you ever started blogging and started again? Yes, I had a blog on Weebly. It got my toes wet. lol
  9. How does blogging make you feel? I feel happy when a chapter is finished and scheduled to post on Saturday, but I get nervous, too, about it being read. After it posts, and I see all the support I have, I feel thankful.
  10. Do you see this as a long-term goal? Yes. I’m planning on writing my main story through Generation 10. Once that is over, I’m excited to begin a new writing project.
  11. Has the blogging community met your expectation? They have far exceeded any expectations. I never thought my little story would be something people come back for on Saturdays to read, let alone comment on, but I was proven wrong, for which I’m eternally grateful. You all may not know it, but you’ve brought me through some hard times. 🙂

───── ⋆⋅Jo’s Questions for Me⋅⋆ ─────

  1.  What makes you cry for joy?  What doesn’t? haha Here’s a small list of just a few things: when my husband calls me “beautiful,” when my children accomplish things they’ve worked hard for, when my little gran smiles at me or reaches for me, when my extended family gets together and we’re having a good time just being ourselves, when someone who has been having a rough time sees better times, and when I’m able to help someone, however small, and they don’t know it’s me.
  2. Favorite book and why?  My favorite book is “Daring Detectives,” by Alfred Hitchcock which was a present my aunt gave to me when I was twelve. This is the book that started my love for reading, especially mysteries.
  3. Describe your perfect moment of the day.  I have a lot of those but the one I’m thinking of right now, is at bedtime when I am snuggled down in my fluffy bed, and my husband and I are each reading. It is nice, and feels safe.
  4. Your best quality?  My best and worst qualities go hand in hand. I am fiercely loyal to those I love. Fiercely. I will be by your side defending you until your last breath. I will not forsake you. On the other hand, if I am severely wronged (I don’t mean something small), I will cut you out of my life like you never existed. Don’t lie to me, don’t cheat on me, and we’ll be fine. lol
  5. Is there anything you struggle with that you’re continuously working on overcoming?  I’m working on so much. lol I’m working on changing my inner dialogue. I’m not always nice to myself.
  6. The best piece of advice you ever received?  To stand firm against the narcissistic abuser who tried their best to ruin my life, and the lives of my children. How to spot that type of person, and steer clear.
  7. Describe what ‘hope’ means to you. “You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious and hope can take on a life of its own.” – Michelle Obama
  8. What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done? I gathered up my children, put them in the car, and with only the outfit on my back, left a situation of domestic violence that I’d endured for seventeen years.
  9. What did Little You want to be when he/she grew up?  A writer, a singer, and a nurse.
  10. Looking at a photo of Little You, what advice would you give him/her? Stand strong, do what is right, always.
  11. ….and what advice would Little You give the you of here and now? Don’t let anyone destroy that little tomboy who wasn’t afraid of anything.

  1. Congrats on the awards.
And I have to tell you that I am so proud of you for having the strength and the courage to leave the abusive relationship. I know from personal experience how hard it really is. And I didn’t have any children to worry about. Thank you for doing what was best for them.

    • Thank you so much. And thank you for what you said about me leaving. I think it’s the best thing I could have done for my children and myself, although it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m sorry you have personal experience with this, but I’m glad you knew what you had to do. Leaving is the most dangerous time for the abused partner.

  2. Wow, thank you for nominating The Lovelace Legacy! I haven’t been able to write anything for a long time now. I need to get back to this story as well as The Life & Times of the Willows. I also need to catch up on your story! Thank you so much! <3

  3. Congrats on the well deserved nominations! I’ll have to check out those two blogs after I leave my comment as I like discovering new content.

I’m not surprised you invest so much time and effort into each chapter post, it really shows. They’re always so well thought out and highly polished. I wish you could earn from it though because you put so much in to your passion. I’m glad you started blogging and hopefully it’s shown you that you’re not only good enough to do it but that your readers think you’re great at it! That’s not a wishy-washy platitude either – I genuinely think you’re incredibly talented and creative.

I love your sense of fierce loyalty and actually see it as a positive that you cut people out of your life confidently when they’ve ‘done you wrong’ (can’t think of the right expression, my brain is a bit mushy). I’ve often wished I could be more like that. I sometimes feel like I’m putting myself forward to be taken for an idiot by letting people get away with being arses to me. So yeah, I’d see that in more of a positive light perhaps than you might.

It’s great your sister and dad blog too, even if occasionally. The fact that your dad even understands what a blog is amazes me – my dad knows I blog but still doesn’t understand what that means! 😂

Thank you for the very kind nomination, too!
    Caz xx

    • LOL Thank you, Caz. I’m smiling abut your dad right now. hahaha My dad actually blogged before I did about different places he’d traveled. He’s really good on the computer. 😀

Thank you for what you said about the work I do on my site. It seems like I’m tweaking my new chapters and tweaking the site every day. I drive myself crazy with it at times. haha

I like what you said about removing people from your life and thinking that’s a good thing. I’ve done that all my life. Once in high school, a boy broke up with me, and I was like okay. Then never looked at him or spoke about him again. I later heard through a friend he was upset that I wasn’t upset. lol

So, anyway, I’m an INFJ, and what I read about what’s called the INFJ Cutoff hit me hard because it’s exactly how I’ve been my whole life.

Here’s a little something I got from online: “The INFJ door slam occurs when an INFJ personality cuts someone out of their life. The INFJ isn’t the only personality type to cut people out. Other personality types do this to some extent, too, but for INFJs, it tends to be more frequent and intense.” And, “INFJs slam the door when they have been deeply wounded. They slam the door when they can no longer tolerate a person’s toxicity. They do it to protect themselves from further hurt.”

(Source: What Is the INFJ Door Slam, and Why Do INFJs Do It?)

  4. this is Cool! I really hope you win, Kymber…

Well, you’re a writer, that much is certain and think I’ve read that you are a nurse too…

but the question I would like to know…

Is it 3 out of 3? are you a singer?
