Big Cat

Big cat silhouetted in the moon filled night
Slinking like a prowling thief
Huge paws, even bigger claws
Stealthy steps on rough rocks
A pause at the river drinks
Fur stood up, ears ever alert
To kill prey or live another day

  1. I thought I commented on this already! Dang WordPress, lol. Beautiful how you expressed the ferocity of cats, (all of them, I think LOL). 🐈‍⬛🙂

  2. Such softness, Kymber, in the first lines. I could see the cat prowling, it’s shadow rather. And the night, the moon, enough for him. Not for us (but we matter not). Yet I hear not his footsteps. True to its hunter’s nature. Brilliant, like the glint in a cat’s eye. 🙂

  3. That’s a fantastic poem, Kymber. I was watching my neighbours cat and noticed how it was kneading its paws, mimicking the behavior of wild cats in the wild. It’s amazing how domestic cats exhibit behaviors similar to their wild counterparts. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day. Aiva xx

  4. What a captivating portrayal of the big cat’s nightly prowls! It’s as if each line tiptoes along with the predator, feeling the tension of its hunt. The imagery really paints a vivid picture of its power and grace under the moon’s glow.
