You Couldn’t Be More Wrong

You said I regret leaving you

But you couldn’t be more wrong

Because the moment I was free of you

My heart filled with song

A feeling washed over me

You could say it was relief

When I no longer had to please you

Or care what you think

Leaving was the best thing

And now I’m really smiling

Because I traded in the jack-ass

For a strong, and handsome stallion

  1. Hi Kymber! This was quite poignant but in it is a message of hope and overcoming one’s past. I love this poem. I can feel the positive energy in it. Plus that bit of humor in the end left me with a big smile.
