Ooh. That Dead Childrens’ Playground looks delightfully creepy! Let’s see . . . I read 9 books in April. Five of those were Lenten devotionals that I finished on Easter weekend. My favorite of the nine was a book called No Two Persons, by Erica Bauermeister. My pastor gave it to me for my birthday, back in March. I probably never would have read it, had she not given it to me, so I’m very glad about that. It is a beautiful book about a novel and the effects it has on various people through the years. I’m currently reading Outlaw Planet, by M.R. Carey, and it’s interesting, a bit confusing, but hopefully all coming together soon.
As for TV watching, we are still watching Bridgerton, Death in Paradise, and working on season 2 of The Pitt. We also watched 2 movies: Let Them All Talk, starring Meryl Streep, Candice Bergen, and Dianne Wiest, and How To Be A Latin Lover, with Eugenio Derbez, Robb Lowe, Salma Hayek, Kristen Bell, Raquel Welch, and Linda Lavin. Let Them All Talk was good, but rather depressing. Latin Lover was silly, but hilarious.
Dead Children’s Playground was a pretty good book, Jeff. I was deliciously scared. 😀 That is a lot of reading you did in April! I hope Outlaw Planet comes together so it’s a satisfying read.
Those sound like good movies. Thank you for the recommendations!
This is a warm, engaging, and community-centered wrap-up that feels both personal and inclusive.
What stands out most is its inviting tone—it immediately creates a sense of connection with “Kind Friends,” turning a simple progress update into a shared space of reflection and conversation. The structure is clear and familiar, blending reading progress, current reads, and media consumption in a way that feels organized yet casual.
I’m really glad my words resonated with you. Wishing you a wonderful, relaxing weekend as well—hope it’s filled with good moments, a bit of inspiration, and maybe even a few new ideas along the way.
