I need to do better at recapping my months. I read eleven books this month, but two of them were children’s picture books, and four of them were graphic novels.
I really need to check out Enola Holmes. That’s “Eleven” in that show, isn’t it? Ah, and I see that they are movies and there are three, now?
Jeff, eleven books is a great month, no matter the mix. Enola Holmes is worth checking out. And yes, that’s Eleven, but the movies are their own thing and there are three now. We enjoyed them.
We watched Enola Holmes, this afternoon. What a delightful movie!!! I’m a huge fan of Millie Bobby Brown! And I’m pretty fond of Henry Cavill, as well. I admit I was a bit teared up at the end. We might watch the second one next Sunday.

Hi, Maggie. I really enjoyed it. It takes place before the family moved to Walnut Grove. I tried not to compare the two shows, but it was hard. The original has a special place in my heart as I grew up with it, too.
Hi, Kymber. I’m dipping my toes back in the blogging waters after taking a month off and figured I’d start with this post. 🙂 The only show I binge-watched was Ransom Canyon on Netflix. The author who wrote the Ransom Canyon books is a friend and I am so proud for her that Netflix picked this up, even though they completely changed the characters. But the money she received was a BIG boon! Thanks for sharing.

Project Hail Mary and Sinners were fantastic, as was The ‘Burbs if you’re talking about the original. I can’t speak to the TV reboot, having only seen part of one episode.
I was skeptical of Project Hail Mary because I’m put off by the whole “I’m gonna science the s— out if this!” stuff from The Martian. That’s not science, it’s engineering and work. Science is literally nothing more than the formalized observation of the natural world to contribute to the corpus of human knowledge, yet we have this bizarre tendency to metonymically conflate science with the objects of science.
It’s like logging onto Twitter or Facebook and seeing feeds like “Science Is Awesome” and it’s all photos of stars and oceans. Or when people say things like “I’m into science” and then list nature programs.
It’s a pet peeve of mine and it speaks to our education system’s abysmal failures teach the basics of science
Anyway, I liked Daredevil when it was on Netflix but haven’t seen the revived series yet. Thanks for reminding me it exists.
Big Buddy, I get what you mean about the science talk. Project Hail Mary still worked for me because it leaned into the story. And it was the new Burbs. It just didn’t hit the way the Tom Hanks movie did. I’ve seen the new Daredevil and I really liked it.

I’ve gone back in time and so I’m binging the series Damages which is deliciously wicked. I hope I’m not doomed to the lake of fire for watching it.
I also have my REGULAR games shows and dramas we watch at night.
I’ve read John Hobbs wonderful book Hope Travels. It’s about a $40 Bible and all the lives it touched over the years.
Now I’m trying to get through Pride and Prejudice -a hard to read novel due to the language of the day. I’m nothing if not determined!
