Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #87:

1. What everyday sound do you secretly love?

2. What’s the last thing you Googled that wasn’t work or health?

3. What’s your ideal “nothing is required of me” activity?

Here are my answers:

  1. My kittycats’ meows.
  2. What is a cryptid?
  3. Reading.

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Fun questions! 😀 And of course, I had to look up “cryptid”. 😄

1) My dog dreams a lot and I love the little yips and soft growls she makes in her sleep.
2) See above ⬆️
3) Watching a movie at home, or taking a nap (sometimes during the movie 😳)

These are my answers.

(A) What everyday sound do you secretly love? — When our dog Rollo is slightly annoyed he makes a really funny complaint sound, which isn’t growling, but a half growl mixed with whimper. I think it is so cute.

(B) What’s the last thing you Googled that wasn’t work or health? — It was the correct spelling of my former professor in Quantum Physics from my college days. It is weird, I know, but there’s a story behind it.

(C) What’s your ideal “nothing is required of me” activity? — Having a craft beer in my backyard beer garden.

Robins chirping, 2. Well now it is also cryptid, because I was curious, 3. Depends on the day, but staring at a beautiful scene in nature, like the view from a mountain pass. 😊Maggie

This feels like a warm little porch in written form 😊

There’s something really inviting about the way you frame it—like a gentle pause in the day where people can just sit, breathe, and share small, honest answers without pressure. The questions themselves are simple, but they open up such personal, human moments—sounds we love, curious late-night searches, and the quiet joy of doing absolutely nothing.

Good morning! 💜 Happy Thursday! (And Timezones! 🥰) Wouldn’t it be cool if we could actually gather on a porch? I have “met” quite a few folks online that I wish I could meet in person. You are most definitely one of those.

1) I’m having to think about this one, because those everyday sounds are things we don’t often pay attention to. And you sneaked that word “secretly” in there. So “music” wouldn’t be the proper answer, because there is no secret that I love music. I guess I’ll go with the sound my coffeemaker makes when it makes a cup of coffee. 🤣

2) Ay! How do I remember that? Okay, technically, it was “spanish to english,” because I’m working on learning Spanish and need all the help I can get. But that wasn’t so much a “search” as it was to get the Copilot translator up on my screen. The last thing that was a true search was “thou my best and kindest friend” because I was trying to see what hymn that line came from. It turns out it was from a hymn called “Now the Light Has Gone Away.”

3) It kind of depends on my mood for the day. Most days, I would be on the “reading” wagon. Some days, though, I would rather jump on my PS5 and play a video game. That’s “videojuegos” in Spanish. LOL!

Sorry I’m so verbose. I’m kind of “thinking out loud” as I go.
