Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.
So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.
Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!
.
───── ⋆⋅Round #99⋅⋆ ─────
1. If your shadow had its own personality, what would it complain about most often?
2. What’s the most dramatic thing your phone has ever done at the worst possible moment?
3. If household objects could file workplace grievances, which one in your home would report you first?
───── ⋆⋅Here are my answers⋅⋆ ─────
- My shadow would complain about how often I stop in the middle of a room for no clear reason. It would sigh, wonder what I’m doing, then have to wait while I stare at a screen or think about a sentence that isn’t even written yet. It would probably file a patience report.
- The most dramatic thing a phone has ever done at the worst moment wasn’t even mine. We were at a Tiger’s game with a huge group of relatives and my sister had all our tickets on her phone. It glitched, went black, and refused to turn back on. We stood there while the entire stadium line moved around us like we were a cautionary tale.
- The first household object to file a workplace grievance would be my printer. It would march into an imaginary office and complain about how often I ask it to behave after weeks of ignoring it. It would list every clogged nozzle, every half‑printed page, and every time I muttered at it like it could hear me. It would absolutely win its case.

And now it’s your turn. If you’d rather just read, that’s perfectly fine. A quick hello would be lovely, and quiet lurkers are always welcome. xo
We’re coming up on our 100th Get to Know You very soon! Look for something special that day!
Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I love your answers, Bestie. I’ll have to think about mine.
No worries, Bestie! I’m always so happy when you pop in. I’m glad you liked my answers.
Fun questions and you have some great answers! Hope you finally got to get in to the stadium. I do the why am I in this room thing too, and my printer gave up years ago haha … Here are my answers;
https://wp.me/p3RE1e-oMY
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the questions, and yes, I finally made it into the stadium. It was a great game and I was so happy the Tigers won. I’m heading over to read your answers; I can’t wait to see them!
Hahah I think your shadow and my shadow would be good friends!
These are some quirky questions, and I love your answers. Mine aren’t as good but I’ll have a go.
“Why can’t we go a bit flipping faster?”
I was scrolling through Instagram recently while waiting for a hospital appointment. My feed shows me disability posts and golden retrievers. That’s it. Apparently I look at a lot of cute Goldens. Most of the hospital is a black spot where there’s no phone signal but I managed to get on to the hospital wifi, which was a god-send as the appt was running an hour late. It’s almost silent in the room & suddenly when I click on a video… BLARING MUSIC! I can’t turn it off, I’m faffing around trying to get it off, find an exit and it seems to get louder. I tried to laugh it off by telling people I was just making sure everyone was still awake 😂
The kettle. He/she would complain about the build up of limescale damaging its beautiful appearance and clogging up its insides. It’d file a claim against me for not using a limescale cleaner often enough, and against us for using hard water from the tap because he/she deserves better than that.
Caz xx
Caz, your shadow absolutely would get along with mine. Your hospital story made me laugh, especially the sudden blast of music in that silent room. And the kettle filing a claim over limescale feels exactly right. I love your answers. 🩷
If your shadow had its own personality, what would it complain about most often? That we are always trying to get rid of it.
What’s the most dramatic thing your phone has ever done at the worst possible moment? It can be super slow sometimes and right when we want to snap a photo it takes like ten seconds to snap it which misses what we wanted a photo of.
If household objects could file workplace grievances, which one in your home would report you first? The vacuum as Mom doesn’t “care” for it properly so it gets dirty and stuff and has to wait for mom to be in the mood to give it a good cleaning.
The shadow complaining about you always trying to get rid of it made me laugh, and the phone taking ten seconds to snap a photo is exactly the kind of timing phones love to ruin. The vacuum having to wait until someone feels like cleaning it was a great image. Great answers! Thanks for playing!
My shadow would say it is too hot in Tucson.
My phone has shut off for no reason when I am watching something on it.
My plate because I always eat the same meal on it, a salad. It would probably get mad at me for this.
Jesse, I liked reading these. Your shadow complaining about Tucson’s heat made me smile, and the phone shutting off mid‑watch is the kind of drama that always happens at the worst moment. The plate being tired of the same salad every day was a fun image. Thanks so much for playing!
Yes it was fun. Thank you for the questions. They were great 👍.
I’m so happy you think so. That makes my day!
I hope Kevin at beginning at last is doing fine now.
Lovely answers, Kymber. How were the tickets?🤭
Thank you, Hazel. I hope Kevin is doing better. I’d like to see him around again. We finally straightened the tickets out and made it in to see the game, thankfully. 😊🌺
Glad to hear. My pleasure, Kymber
🩷🌸
I am sorry about your phone glitching. That was terrible. These are my answers.
Q1. If your shadow had its own personality, what would it complain about most often? — That I am blocking the sun
Q2. What’s the most dramatic thing your phone has ever done at the worst possible moment? — Butt calling a stranger and recording a couple fighting for 20 minutes. I did not know that it was recording while it was. I saw it later. I was curious so I listened for a little bit, but then I deleted the recording.
Q3. If household objects could file workplace grievances, which one in your home would report you first? — Well, the toilet plunger has had to deal with some crap.
Thomas, we finally got the ticket mess straightened out at the game and made it in, so the whole ordeal ended up being more annoying than tragic.
Your shadow answer cracked me up. I can picture it standing there, irritated, waiting for you to shift a little so it can get some sun. And that phone situation? Butt‑dialing is one thing, but accidentally recording a full argument is wild. The plunger answer fit perfectly, too. It’s definitely seen things it can’t unsee.
Thanks for playing along!
Thank you so much for your kind words Kymber. That butt call recording was wild and I am not even sure how it happened. Anyway, I am glad you made it in. I have to admit that having that happen to me is one of my fears.
And thank you. Getting into the game after that ticket mess felt like a small win.
These answers gave me a laugh
LOL Thank you so much, Jo-Anne! 😂
Hi Kymber! Happy Thursday!
The numerous times I’ve walked into the bonus room, determined to clean it up…a sad look around at all the crappin’ junk…and “tomorrow, for sure.”
Saw a UFO…or something… “Out of storage, please delete some pictures.” 😩😖
The freezer in the garage. GFI switch tripped, didn’t notice the freezer stopped running. Wife found out two weeks later 🤢🤮😵💫😱😂
Hi Darryl, and happy Thursday! Your bonus room confession made me laugh because I’ve had that same tomorrow-for-sure moment more times than I should admit. The UFO storage warning was perfect. And the freezer story hit home because mine pulled the same stunt about three weeks ago. Thank you for playing!
If your shadow had its own personality, what would it complain about most often? That I move too fast for an old geezer.
What’s the most dramatic thing your phone has ever done at the worst possible moment? My battery died when I was trying to tell my wife that my flight home was canceled. Took me forever to find an electrical outlet.
If household objects could file workplace grievances, which one in your home would report you first? My coffee machine would report me for my insensitivity to its complaints.
John, your answers were great. I could see that shadow of yours muttering while it tries to keep up with you. The phone dying during a canceled‑flight moment felt like the kind of thing life does just to test your patience. And your coffee machine filing grievances? I can absolutely see it standing there with crossed arms, listing every slight you’ve committed before sunrise. lol Thank you so much for playing!
I enjoyed your answers, here’s mine:
1. My shadow would complain that it doesn’t get nearly enough me time once the sun goes down.
2. My phone: I was at The Nutcracker ballet and wiggled the wrong way and dialed 911. No more phone in the back pocket!
3. With 9 cats my Dyson vacuum would file first with give it a break already!!!
Brian, these were fun to read. Your shadow wanting more time after sunset made me smile, and that Nutcracker story was a perfect example of how phones choose the worst moment to act up. The Dyson grievance felt completely earned with nine cats in the house. Thank you so much for playing!
Here’s mine Kymber. Looking forward to your centenary!

[…] Get to Know You #99! […]
Very nice.
Thank you, Vijay.
These are fun questions, Kymber. I’m sorry I don’t have more time to respond.
Mary, I’m glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for taking a moment to read through and respond. I appreciate it.🌺
I loved your answers.
I’m going to have a go.
If my shadow had its own personality, I think it would complain most that to calm the hell down. I have got an headache.
My app on my phone that I have to use for clocking in and out at work deciding to freeze and not work, that I have to restart my phone. And it is just either minutes left for starting my shift. Or I can’t get away quick enough because of not being able to clock out for the same reason and so I am restarting my phone before making another attempt to clock out.
The first household objects that would file a workplace grievance first, would be my dinner plates.
The plates would say, “She killed our cousins one by one and I was hoping and praying I wouldn’t be next. She had a smashing time, smashing them individually one by one. Saying how good it felt. Just as I thought me and my other two cousins would be next, she closed our door and so everything went dark.
I then heard a nearby door and further smashing went ahead. Again, I could hear she was having a great time. Rumour had it that she killed some mugs.”
Liz, these cracked me up. Your shadow telling you to calm down, your phone staging a mutiny right when you need it most, and those dinner plates filing a full grievance about the mug massacre. I loved all of it. Thanks for jumping in and playing along.
I’m glad you like them. But don’t forget the plates that died too. (The remaining plates – their cousins.) 😂
I especially enjoyed writing that one if the plates could talk. 😂😂😂
I didn’t forget the fallen plates. Your whole scene with the cousins and the rumors about the mugs still makes me laugh. 😂 You clearly had a great time writing that one. 🌺
😂😂😂 Oh I did. Thank you. 😊
My pleasure! 😄😂🩷
Love your third answer Liz! Hysterical!!
😂😂😂 Thank you, Di. You can tell I really liked answering that one.
It was definitely a fun answer.
😂🩷🌺
You comments are very funny, Kymber
LOL Thank you, Robbie. 😂

Do I like these questions! I will have to think on them. Great answers Kymber!
YAY! That makes me so happy! Thank you so much!
Oooh, this is a beaut. First, I loved your printer response! I think nearly every reader will be thinking “been there, done that”. As for me:
This one is hilariously easy: My shadow would complain about all the syncopes… “Down, up, down, up, down, up, please make it stop!”
For the sake of transparency, my cell phone is never switched on unless I am out alone so, not often, but…. The most dramatic occasion was when I’d had a bad faint, crashed into a fallen tree and hurt my right shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and worse, given myself a never-ending nosebleed. I tried to call either Cam or the park office for help, but had no bars at all. Worst possible timing.
Oooh, this one might be a bit too revealing. Without a doubt, the household “object” in our home that would be first in the grievance queue would definitely be the sliding screen on our balcony door. It would say, “I am sore, I ache everywhere, my runners are getting worn down” — and probably lots more that I can’t think of at the moment, all because I’m constantly whipping it open and closed and each time it slams against whichever post is stopping it. (Also transparency — this is one of Cam’s pet peeves too.)
Great post, lots of fun, thank you so much. pp
Pam, I loved reading these. Your shadow line made me smile, and the syncopes gave it a whole personality. The phone story was rough, though. That kind of timing stays with you, especially when you’re already hurt and trying to reach someone. And the balcony screen made me laugh. I could hear it listing its aches while you keep it moving. Thank you for sharing all of this. It was a fun set of answers.
.
1. – My shadow would never complain; it’s a happy camper like me!
It keeps mysteriously switching the angle of the pictures that I share with my loved ones for no reason – ha ha ha! 😁
My bathtub! It would say that I scrub it wayyyyy too hard! 😂
.
These gave me a grin. Your shadow has the right temperament, and the photo angle thing feels familiar. Mine does that now and then. And the bathtub answer is perfect. If anything in the house would speak up, it’d be the thing we scrub the hardest. Thank you so much for playing!
You’re welcome, it’s my pleasure! 🎀
I’m glad that my answers made you smile 🤗🙏
They sure did! 🩷🌺😊
Need more coffee to come up with some answers to these.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Kymber. Love and hugs. ♥
I can understand that. I’m about to get some more coffee now, lol
Hope your Thursday is fantastic! Love and hugs, my friend. 🩷🌺
My shadow would complain about me putting something where I would not lose it and then losing it. Memory counts a lot in this.
The battery has been dying as I attempt an E-checkin for a flight. Not a good thing when you have no paper boarding pass.
My TV remote would file a grivance about me neing a real button pusher and not slowing down long enough to let it catch up.
Happy Thursday Kymber. Allan
Great answers, Allan! Your shadow made me laugh. The battery dying mid check‑in would’ve stressed me out, and the remote grievance was perfect. Happy Thursday!
Funny that about the printer!
LOL Thank you, Jacqui! 😂
Ooh! I’m excited about 100! 🥰 Your answers are hilarious! I’m having to really think about these!
1) My shadow . . . I think it would complain about all of the pretend conversations I have when I am alone, usually in the car while driving. “Not again! C’mon!” Either that, or it would slap me silly every time I start my chronic overthinking. Which is what usually starts those pretend conversations.
2) Mine involves my car and Car Play. It really annoys me that whenever I plug my phone in, in the car, that it immediately just starts playing something. I don’t always want it to do that. Sometimes, it’s okay, but I would rather it never do that and let me decide what I want it to do. There doesn’t seem to be any way to shut that “feature” off. I can’t think of a “worst possible moment” scenario, although it’s bad when I start playing my meditation app to go to sleep, but my headphones haven’t connected, yet, because my wife is usually already asleep.
3) Probably my stovetop, because I can’t seem to stir ANYTHING without spilling it over the sides of the pan.
I liked reading your answers. The shadow getting fed up with your pretend conversations made me smile. The CarPlay trouble sounded irritating. And the stovetop grievance was a good one! Love it! Thanks for playing, and Happy Thursday!
Thank you so much, Kymber! Here’s my response. I hope you like it ☺️
