1. If you had to hire one item from your junk drawer, what job would it get?
2. What’s the most harmless thing that has startled you recently?
3. If you had to give a pep talk to an inanimate object today, which one would need it most?
───── ⋆⋅Here are my answers⋅⋆ ─────
- I’d hire the mystery key that doesn’t open anything. It can run security, since it already acts like it knows more than I do.
- A dust bunny startled me when it drifted out from under the couch. It moved like it had intentions.
- The little lamp my grandfather made would need the pep talk. It still works, but the shade has survived several feline attacks and leans like it’s tired of trying. I’d tell it it’s doing a good job anyway.

Good morning, and happy timezones, Kymber!! I’m actually getting to this one on time! I do apologize for being so lax in my blog-reading, of late. I love your answers, and feel confident that mine won’t even come close, but I’ll give it a try.
1 After searching through our two (yes, two) junk drawers, I decided to hire the unused Glade Plug-in that was sitting in there, to keep the living room smelling fresher
2 I’m going to give two answers. The first one actually gave me a good start, physically. Last Sunday afternoon, I reached for a hymnal that was on a shelf in the study that is attached to a wall. The shelf immediately fell off the wall. It didn’t hurt anything, though, so it was harmless. The second thing was an amusing surprise. Yesterday morning, I was getting my coffee, and I just happened to glance into the room next to the kitchen, which has two recliners and a bookshelf behind them. Sort of a reading nook, I guess. Anyway, sticking out from under one of the recliners was Willow’s (Maine Coon, 14.5 months old, 12.6 pounds) tail sticking out from under the front of the recliner. How she got under there, I have no clue. She’s liquid, I think.
3 I would give a pep talk to the shelf that fell off the wall, Sunday. I would tell it . . . wait for it . . . HANG IN THERE! (ba dum dum).

Especially the first one. That made me chuckle.
I don’t have a junk drawer. Never have. So, unable to answer.
A harmless thing that startled me was when I was walking to work this morning. I saw a shadow so I felt that someone would be behind me. I was just walking under a bridge at the point. Once I passed the bridge, I quickly looked back to see who it was. It was a woman. And like me, she was at first cautious until she realised I it was someone she has observed walking regular the same way we both walk. But her turning off much sooner than me. So we had a quick chat until she was at the point to cross the road to where she needed to be.
I can’t think of anything that would need a pep talk. Maybe there is an inanimate object that would like to give me a pep talk instead.
