Katy was two. She and Jimmy were supposed to be asleep on their bunkbeds. When I went in to wake them from their nap, she was sitting there with one pigtail completely gone, cut right to the scalp. The missing piece was glued to the wall like a small trophy. I cried. She had pictures scheduled the next day.
For years I thought she had done it herself. She was quiet and proud of her work. She never said a word. Then Jimmy turned thirty-one and finally confessed. He had cut it off and pasted it to the wall. He said it like it was time to clear his conscience. I told him he owed me for the haircut bill and the emotional damage.

Ha it took him a long time to confess that. Kids can do silly things sometimes.
One day our daughter’s hair started falling off. This was after the 2001 attacks, and the anthrax attacks that followed, and my wife started thinking it might be something like that. However, she soon found out that our son and daughter had been playing barber and our son had realized that cutting off his sister’s hair was bad, so he put it all back as well as he could, but it didn’t stay very well and started falling off. Our son confessed right away though.
Oh gosh. 😂 This took me back to me at 5 years old when me and two older kids (siblings) cut our hair with hedge clippers. 🤦♀️

Jimmy was a bad boy! 😮 That must have been a traumatic moment for you, Kymber, but it’s good he confessed, eventually. Katie was a real trooper! And she looked very cute with her new haircut.
