Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #72:

  1. If you won the lottery tonight, would I see you at work tomorrow?
  2. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
  3. What’s a movie you can practically quote from start to finish?

Here are my answers:

  1. If people were relying on me, I’d be there.
  2. Casper the friendly ghost.
  3. The Wizard of Oz

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I would quit. Corporations don’t care about the little guy. If something happened to me (hospitalization or death) they would manage. Winning the lottery would be the same thing. If I quit, they’d manage.
Field of Dreams. You know I’m a huge LOTR fan but those movies are 11 hours long. That’s too much to memorize.

Kymber @booomcha February 20, 2026 - 11:01 am

I don’t blame you for quitting if that happened. You’re right about corporations and the little guy.

Great movie! I thought you’d either pick that one or LOTR.

Thank you so much for playing! It’s really good to see you!

Fun questions!

1) Probably so. I work at the best place, so I would probably keep showing up. 20 hours a week at the library, with the best people in the world. I would buy them all cookies every day, and lavish gifts upon them all. I might even just be a volunteer, if they would let me.
2) That’s a tough one. I don’t remember my childhood Halloween costumes very well. I think I might have been a pirate once. That would probably be my favorite.
3) The Princess Bride. Jurassic Park (the original).

That’s great! It’s so important to like your job.

Pirates are cool.

Yessss… I’m the same way with those movies. LOL They are great!

Thank you so much for playing! I hope this day is treating you well.

  1. Yes I would go to work. But my answer comes from a completely different perspective than most would think when answering this question.
  2. 50’s sock hop. Remind me to show you a pic if I can find one.
  3. Pride and Prejudice.

These are always fun to answer! 😀

I’m retired now, but had I won the lottery while working, I would have come in the following day to resign, giving two weeks’ notice.

Favourite Halloween costume was a vampire, dressed like Morticia Addams, but with fangs. 😃

Casper is my choice too.

These are my answers

If you won the lottery tonight, would I see you at work tomorrow? I’m also retired.

What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? I grew up in Sweden and there was no Halloween, so not for me either.

What’s a movie you can practically quote from start to finish? I’ve seen Interstellar 20 times, and I know many quotes, but not the whole movie.

Kymber @booomcha January 12, 2026 - 8:42 am

I’m retired, so I’ll answer with “if I had won the lottery when I was still working…”: Yes. I’d be at work at least for a while. I liked my job.

For several Halloween costumes in a row, I wore my winter coat inside out, because the fuzzy lining was black and white like Dalmatian fur. I had a Pongo plastic mask. This was c. 1961 or 1962 right after the movie came out.

I can, and do, quote “The Princess Bride”.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha January 12, 2026 - 8:33 am

Oh yes, the Princess Bride! Good one!

I am retired, so no work for me…I would pay off all my sister’s and my son’s bills and set a trust for each. That’s it., 2. fav costume? I wasn’t a kid, and it was renfaire garb for me., and the movie? well there are two actually and I can repeat word for word every bit of dialogue…Rocky Horror Picture Show and Burlesque. I mess up n Sound of Music on one song each and every time or I’d say that movie as well. My favorite things really aren’t. LOL

Reply
Kymber @booomcha January 12, 2026 - 8:29 am

Love the movies! And Ren Faire garb is the best. We live practically next door to the MI Ren Fest and have spent many years there.

1) I am retired, but if someone wanted me to come back for a day to provide advice I’d do it…for a day.
2) My favorite halloween costume as a kid was a ghost as well. Easy to put on, easy to take off. Just a sheet!
3) I’m pretty sure I could quote “The Avengers” from start to finish. I know I could quote A Charlie Brown Christmas from beginning to end (saw that in the comments and could not resist!)

Reply
Kymber @booomcha January 12, 2026 - 8:27 am

Ghost costumes were the best! Great answers! Thank you so much for playing.

Reply
kagould17 January 8, 2026 - 10:30 am

1) My current job is retired, so yeah, I’ll be here.
2) Robin Hood. We lived mostly on the farm, so costumes were few and far between.
3) I know it is a short version movie, but A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Happy Thursday Kymber.

If you won the lottery tonight, would I see you at work tomorrow? Definitely not! We would travel and start working more with hosting nose work trials at fun venues.
What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? 2019 when Mom dressed us as trolls
What’s a movie you can practically quote from start to finish? How the Grinch stole Christmas.

2. Mary from “Mary had a Little Lamb.” I forced my younger brothers to be sheep that year. Lol
3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
