I didn’t think much about this scar for a long time. It was just there, a line I got used to seeing without wanting to look at it for too long. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t claim it either. It belonged to a part of my life I didn’t revisit unless I had to. Over the past year though, I’ve noticed I don’t turn away from it the way I used to. It doesn’t feel sharp anymore. It doesn’t feel like something I need to cover or explain. It’s simply part of me, the same way the necklace is part of me, the same way every small thing I choose to wear or carry says something about where I am now. I didn’t plan to take this picture. I just saw the two together and realized I wasn’t avoiding anything.
Thank you so much, kind friends, for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

Blessings on you, today, Kymber. Scars are reminders of Father’s presence through the tough times.
Hallelujah!🤠
❤️&🙏, c.a.
Thank you. Your words mean a lot to me today. 🌺🌺
I did not notice it at first (in the picture) until I read your paragraph. I have a scar too but in a different place (appendicitis). My scar is more visible. I also have a couple of smaller scars from accidents I’ve had. The beautiful necklace and the scar go well together.
Thank you, Thomas. It looks fainter in the picture than in person for some reason. Must be the lighting. I really appreciate your kind words.
Such a pretty necklace and the scar was just visible and is just part of you
Thank you, Jo-Anne. That’s lovely of you to say.
It’s a beautiful necklace, and you’re right, the scar is a part of who you are.
It’s 7 years ago that I had my mastectomy, and it has never bothered me. The scar is smooth and clean, you can’t feel the join, and apart from a twinge if I’ve stretched awkwardly, has never been a problem.
I am still here and no different to how I was before the surgery.
It’s a reminder of what we’ve faced and survived, being a part of our daily lives and so much better than the alternative.
Di, thank you. Your words mean a lot. I love how you describe your scar as a reminder of what you faced and came through. You’re right. These marks become part of our story, and they say more about survival than anything else.
<3
They say time heals all wounds and it is true. Even wounds to the heart from heartbreak heal in time. Scars are something one doesn’t even see anymore after a while as they do fade a bit but we adapt and it isn’t so fresh in the mind, whatever caused the scar. Good for you!
Thank you for this. I appreciated what you said about time softening things. Scars do fade, and we learn to live with whatever caused them. Your words were kind, and I’m glad you shared them.
Wow! You’re taking direct aim at our heartstrings today, my sweet!
Scars tell the complex and intricate story of diagnosis, fear, pain, healing, likely enormous change and, importantly and triumphantly, survival. They represent a collection of moments that tested us and either defeated us or made us stronger.
Most delightful and uplifting aspect of this post is that you are stronger.
Lovely, lovely post, Kymber. Thank you for sharing your feelings — they’ll mean a lot, to a lot of people, I promise. xx
Thank you, Pam. You put that beautifully. Those moments really do shape us, even the hardest ones, and I’m grateful to be on the stronger side of it now. I’m glad the post meant something to you.🌺
Wear it proud Kymber. it is a sign of the strength your hold inside and a badge of honor of the hard battle you fought and overcame.
Thank you, Ernie. I’m learning to wear it with more pride. It reminds me of what I got through and the strength it took. I appreciate your words.
Apologies, ‘not ONLY wise..’
I know what you meant, and I appreciate it. 😊
Kymber, you are not wise, but you are brave too. Never change.
Thank you, Peter‑James. I’m doing my best to stay both. Your kindness means a lot.
Lovely necklace, and your scar is proof of your courage and strength in the face of a battle you won. <3
Thank you. That means a lot. I’ve come to see the scar as part of what got me through, and the necklace felt right for showing it. I appreciate your kindness.🩷
I too have scars that are hard to look at except for one thing…..they remind me of a very difficult time that I got through and more importantly, on the other side of. Those are the things that keep me going. We should be proud of those…..always and forever.
Hugs, Pam
Thank you, Pam. I understand that. Those hard times stay with us, and getting through them matters. I’m learning to see my own scars that way too. Hugs back.
Scars are like that, inside and out.
Thank you, Jacqui. They really are. Inside or out, they stay with us in different ways.
you have a beautiful story to be proud of, Kymber,
Thank you, Heidi. I’m learning to be proud of it, even the harder parts. Your words mean a lot.
Talk about putting everything in perspective. Love this, Kymber!
Thank you, Jan. It really did change the way I looked at things. I’m glad the post landed for you.
That scar saved your life.
Have a blessed day and weekend, Kymber. Love and hugs. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. I’ve come to see it that way too. I hope your day and weekend are good to you. Love and hugs back.🩷
Your scars are a part of you and the life you have lived. There are seen and unseen scars. I too have both…
I hear you. We all carry both kinds, and they stay with us in ways we don’t always talk about. I’m just trying to be honest about mine these days.
To embrace the more difficult aspects of a life story is important, but it’s certainly not always easy. I’m glad that you’ve arrived at a place of comfort within yourself 🌷
I appreciate that. I’m getting more comfortable with the harder parts of my story, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m learning as I go. ✨🌺
