Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! This is a prompt by Di at Pensitivity and it looks like fun, so I’m going to give it a go!

You can join in the fun here: Share Your World!

Here are the Questions:

1.  How would you describe your sense of humour?
2.  What was the most recent thing that made you laugh out loud?
3.  Have you ever laughed until you cried?
4.  Have you ever laughed at an inopportune moment?

Here are my answers:

  1. I’d call it mischief delivered with a straight face.
  2. Seeing The Wizard of Oz at the theater yesterday for Mother’s Day. I know every line by heart, but it still gets me. Hearing everyone else laugh around me made it even better.
  3. Plenty of times. I’m easily entertained.
  4. Yes, and I’m never thrilled about it. I tend to laugh when I should probably cry, and having a slightly dark sense of humor doesn’t help.

Thank you, Di, for this great group of questions! This was fun!

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

Mom loves humor, it is the best according to her.
1. How would you describe your sense of humour? Mom’s sense of humor is good.
2. What was the most recent thing that made you laugh out loud? Looking at old family photos while looking for photos for Gramma’s 90th birthday. So many funny pics.
3. Have you ever laughed until you cried? Oh yes, sometimes that happens.
4. Have you ever laughed at an inopportune moment? That happens, thankfully not too often but what can one do?

I see humor everywhere — often in places where others see absolutely nothing funny at all.
I once watched a video of a man on a morning train reading a magazine. He suddenly erupted into laughter, loud enough to wake the dead. The carriage was full of half‑asleep commuters, but his laughter spread like a virus. Within moments, the whole coach was howling.
Often.
My wife once took me to the opera. I went out of love; I stayed out of duty; I suffered out of boredom. When the heroine discovered she’d been duped and burst into tragic tears, I saw it coming— and quite unintentionally laughed loudly. In a room full of people dabbing their eyes, I was not popular. My wife didn’t speak to me for a week. She also never asked me to go again.

I liked your answers. These are mine.

Question one: How would you describe your sense of humour? – I think it spans many types of humor, a bit cynical, like Dilbert, to good natured family humor such as when kids or dogs does funny innocent things. I do not like humor that is based on getting laughters from being crass or putting others down.

Question two: What was the most recent thing that made you laugh out loud?

Dilbert boss to Dilbert: I need you to add a feature to our product because our marketing campaign says we already have it.

Dilbert: No problem. What is the feature?

Boss: Time Travel

Boss: How long will it take you add that feature?

Dilbert: If I am successful, I’ll have it by last week.

Question three: Have you ever laughed until you cried?

It happened when I was a kid, especially with my best friend Lars.

Question four: Have you ever laughed at an inopportune moment?

Once I stood next to a guy in church who sang extremely off-tune, making it very hard to sing, so I started laughing.

How would you describe your sense of humour?
I will have a laugh. But it feels rare.
And one time I would say I had rare moments of sarcasm. But that is rare.
What was the most recent thing that made you laugh out loud?
It feels a while this. I know it was a movie I watched. But I can’t remember which one.
Have you ever laughed until you cried?
Yes. But that is going back some years. My ribs ached too with laughing.
Have you ever laughed at an inopportune moment?
No.

Dark and dry, socially questionable, gallows humor
Video clip of a woman tripping down a flight of stairs choreographed to the drum riff of “In the Air Tonight”. Part of my laughter was cringe-sympathy, because I’ve tripped on stairs.
Yes. So many, many times. Videos of babies who get the giggles are hilarious.
Remember the Mary Tyler Moore episode when Chuckles the Clown died and Mary got the giggles at the funeral service? I’ve done that and not just at funerals. 😂

Happy Timezones, Kymber!! I love to laugh!
1) I don’t know if my sense of humor is “dry” or not, but I love sarcasm and what has come to be known as “dad jokes.” I’m constantly copying dad-joke memes and sending to my pastor/sister/best friend. Usually with something like “don’t hit me” in the caption. I also like to twist things around when I say them, with a straight face, as you say. Perhaps that is also mischievous. Yes, I would definitely say I am the mischievous sort.
2) I would imagine something that we watched on TV yesterday. Yes. We were watching an episode of The Pitt (not necessarily a “funny” show, of course), and there are always moments by certain characters in the show that make me laugh. My wife and I are also watching Big Mistakes, which stars Dan Levy and has a similar vibe to Schitt’s Creek. Lots of LOLs in that one.
3) Oh, dear . . . there was a moment, it’s been years. Yes.
4) I’m sure I have. My sense of humor is also dark. I can’t think of any specific events, right now, but I’m sure I have.

Good answers. I love laughter, but I don’t often laugh until I cry!
