Update On Kymber

Hello friends

I have put off creating this post until things had settled down and Kymber seemed to be on her way to mending.  First off, Kymber did not have her surgery on the previously scheduled Friday Sept 12th.  Once they had her in the operating room, she took a severe reaction to the medication and woke her up before they began.  Once they knew she was stable, they rescheduled her operation to this past Thursday, Sept 18th.

To make things worse for them, on his long drive to the surgery on Friday, her husband hit a deer.  I haven’t seen pics of the vehicle, but I know there is damage and the deer, ran off.  The hope is the deer recovered, but honestly that is just optimism in the face of such stress for the past few months.

The surgeons did proceed with the surgery on Thursday.  The week leading up to the surgery, she seems to be more stable than she had been before.  I almost think the postponement was in her favour.   If I haven’t already said, this was open heart surgery (cracking her chest).

On Friday I checked in with her husband.  He reported she will be in the ICU for a week and then a step down unit for another week.  They have her on a vent for two days and her body should balance out from all the imbalanced pressures that were caused by her mitral valve.  He also said they were weening her off some of the medications and she was doing well so far.

Today is Monday Sept 22nd.

Kymber is doing very well.  Up walking around a little with help.  I think this may be my last update on Kymber, unless something happens.  I will let her surprise you with her return, which hopefully won’t be too long, but won’t be too soon either.

Thank you everyone for all your support!  The day before her surgery, I read more of your comments and prayers to her and she was truly touched.

Thank you for the update 🙏
Bloody hell, you just can’t make this stuff up! But I’d like to think the delay happened for a reason, and resulted in a better outcome in the end. I’ve been away a little while and I’m just really hoping things are going well. It’s a hefty road for recovery from surgery, let alone such a significant one as this. To Kymber – sending all my love and best wishes 💜 xxxxxx

The delay was a blessing and now she is doing so much better. I think, much better than she has for a few years.

Oh my goodness, thank you so much for updating us on KymberNoodle! I had no idea. As WordPress would have it, we were somehow disconnected and I simply thought she was taking a hiatus like many others. Please pass on my prayers to her and tell her to get well soon. Sending much love, hugs, and plenty of smooches! 🤗💖🙏🏼

Well, I’m quite behind. The email for this post got lost in the shuffle, but I thank you for posting these updates. I am glad to hear that things went well, and that Kymber was up and walking around. I look forward to her return to blogging, and have been continuing to pray for Kymber’s healing on a daily (mostly) basis. Please give her a hug from me! 💜

I hope it won’t be too long. I haven’t spoken to her for a week now. She is home, doing her PT and resting – hopefully. I don’t want to bother her and I’m waiting for her to make contact with me. I have sent her a few messages letting her know I am thinking of her.

I’m so glad for this news, a day hasn’t gone by that I haven’t thought of her. That’s crazy about the deer! I can’t even imagine being in that situation and having something like that happen on top of everything. I wish Kymber a speedy recovery and thank you so much for keeping us posted! <3

Kymber is in my thoughts. I can’t wait for her to come back. My husband had open heart surgery in 2019, it was quite a shock at first but he bounced back rather quickly. That’s great news.

Most excellent news. I’m so thankful! I hope all of you, and Kymber, are able to rest better, and find peace and comfort while recovery does what it does. My stepmother had more than one open heart surgery; I’m sort of familiar with the recovery, and from what I read compared to that (in the 1970s and 80s!) I feel optimistic for Kymber.
