
She dressed as Dorothy, braids bouncing, heart wide open.
The theater lights rose, and suddenly she wasn’t just watching Oz,
she was in it.
Her eyes followed every swirl of color, every note of the music,
every shimmer of magic on stage.
And I watched her,
this little girl who still believes in wonder,
and felt the whole world soften.
There’s no place like a day like that.

The oldest Little (LillyAnne), my friend Leah, and I went to see Holly High School’s rendition of The Wizard of Oz. It was a magical day, had by all!
