April Reading Wrap-Up!

I hope you’re having a wonderful week, Friends! And I also hope the month of April was good to you!

In my neck of the woods (the Great Lakes Area in the US), it’s chilly, then warm, then chilly, then… you guessed it: warm! At the moment I’m writing this, it is 10:20 am, and the temperature is 46℉/8℃ (?). I’ll take it! Windows open, fresh air at last! Woot woot! 🖖🩷🌷🌺

Okay, drum roll, please… ba dum tish… wait, that’s not the right drum roll!

Oh well!

Here is my progress for April:

As of April 29, 2024
I read 8 books in April.
It’s okay so far… I’m a little disappointed…

I want to read more of the “Witches of Palmetto Point” series by Wendy Wang since I’ve read 5 of them. So far, there are 13 books in the series.

I would also like to return to the “Amelia Peabody” series by Elizabeth Peters.

Next up, though, I want to read Finding Me: An Estranged Sisters New Adult Romance Novel (The Defiant Sisters Duet Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar!

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (2024)
Season 1
Tulsa King (2022– )
Season 1

What did you read in April, and what was your favorite?

What did you watch, and what did you think about it?

April was a terrific month although I wasn’t online as much. The Mister and I spent more time outdoors since it has warmed up some. Josie-Pye, as is usual for this time of year, spends her time, busily chirping at birds and squirrels from her catio (also known as the sunporch lol).

May your day, and this coming month, bring you blessings and joy!

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. I’ve still got one or two more episodes of The Ones Who Live to watch. I can’t believe I still haven’t watched or read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. I’m anxious for the final season of Evil to release later this month.

  2. It looks like you had a great month of reading, Kymber. We’re at about the same point in our Goodreads challenge. I loved Jacquie’s book “Letting Go” but the others are new to me. Thanks for the recommendations, and Happy Reading!

  3. You did very well in your April reading, Kymber! My April was busy with a visitor and trying to catch up with gardening before summer. I haven’t watched any movies lately. Have a wonderful day!

  4. What a great group of reading and movies, Kymber! I’m reading slowly this year, but I just finished Dawn’s poetry book, Ariel’s Song, which I enjoyed. So, now a review is on my agenda. 🙂 Life has been busy lately, so no new movies for now. Have a great day! xo

  5. A cool variety of books and shows/movies that you’ve read and watched 🙂 Of these, “Black Sails” jumped out at me. I really enjoyed that series. Fun adventure!

  6. 8 books. That is great. I keep track a bit badly but it seems I only started and finsihed three books in April, but I am reading a lot more. The three books were.

Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer
The Broken And The Foolish by Sara Kjeldsen
Ariel’s Song: Published Poems, 1987 – 2023 by Dawn Pisturino

They were all great books but I gave the first one “Braiding Sweetgrass” only three stars instead of five because it contained a good amount of flim-flam as well.

  7. KymberNoodle, I said it before and I’ll say it again, you are a Book Reading Beast! You slay chapter after chapter! 📚🔪📚 Congrats girlfriend. Great job and excellent book choices! 🥰💖😍

  8. Kymber, I saw you have here Evil’s first three seasons. One of my favorite shows “active” right now, and the new (final) season is now set to debut May 23rd. Looking forward to its return. I’m gonna assume since you watched all three seasons you liked it as well!

  9. You read some interesting books and a lot of them. Not sure if any of them would be on my nightstand, but then, why not. You never know. How does the saying go, “Never judge a book by its cover.”

    • LOL I hear that a lot when people see what I read. haha No worries. Unfortunately, the book I was currently reading, “Ghost Eaters” turned out to be a disappointment. And that cover appealed to me… so I shouldn’t judge books by their covers either. hahaha 😀

  10. Look at all the books you managed to read, that’s fantastic. I love reading, but as the weather is much warmer and sunnier, we head to the seaside instead, and I haven’t picked up a book in a while

  11. Hi Kymber. This is a fun, newsy post. Thanks for sharing it.
My reading is mostly listening to audio books, because these days my eyes tire so fast. After computer work and blogging, and editing, and images, and hopefully writing, my eyes don’t have anything left for reading. Not complaining, just explaining. Anyhow one of my Audible favorites during the past year and a half is Gigi Pandian. I’ve “read” most of her “Accidental Alchemist Mysteries” series (fabulous narrator). This year I started a different series from her, “Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mysteries”. It’s not as inventive as the “Alchemist” series, but the first two books at least are engaging reads. The narrator is good too, although for some reason, it took me a few chapters for her voice to grow on me. I like her now.
Have a lovely rest of the week. Hugs.

    • Hi, Teagan! I’m the same way, actually. I read so much actually because I can listen while I clean house. I just slip my phone into my apron pocket and there you go! lol Thank you so much for the recommendation of Gigi Pandian! I will definitely give her a listen. You have a lovely rest of your week, too. xo Hugs
