Golden Days Lookbook Challenge

Another challenge I was tagged in on Tumblr, created by @oliveandoak and @plushpixels. This is the first time I’ve ever done a lookbook, so this was tons of fun! The sim I’m using is Ellen Burch who, in her younger days, was a beautiful red-head. Her hair is now a platinum white. Ellen has always moved to the beat of her own drum, and has never cared what anyone thought of her. She believes in aging gracefully even if that means getting a little “work” now and then.

Thank you for stopping by!

Mme Burch is rocking it. That’s what we all should do, keep rocking it until we can’t remember what we were rockin’ then get our rocking chair out on the porch and rock it some more.

LOLOL Right on, Dan! 😀

P.S. May I just repeat how much I enjoyed your Paint Me entry today? I’m still thinking about it all these hours later!

Right on, write on! 😁. I think our inner INFJ feels Paint Me on a different level. I was and still am deeply attached to this story. I actually did the art for each chapter, but decided to just let the words tell the story. There were many times in my life that I was so captivated by my environment and my life that I let too many people slip away from me. I learned to live by letting go and considered it the more noble act, which is counter to my desire to hold on. The characters in the story struggle with some of the same issues. But, Gaston has his stuff together.

I bet the art is wonderful, Dan. Maybe you should post it separately or something? It’s interesting to see how your personal experiences shaped what you write. As for Gaston, that sounds about right. lol

I was definitely deep into learning how to do my style of painting using a long list of software tools. I really loved doing it and like Gunnar, I became obsessed in a very fun and enriching way with it. I believe my fairy godmother struck my Apple Mac dead and stopped me cold. I cheated and used Pinterest for my chapters after that. (Pinterest got results a lot faster 😁) I started at a very early age, took art classes all through school and college as sort of a sustained interest. I taught my daughters and now grandchildren art in multiple media and now the oldest grand daughter (12) draws anime as good if not better than the pros. I believe the arts are one of the pillars of building an intelligence that grows wiser with experience. It connects a child to their emotions and helps them grow into an adult. When I write of Gaston, I try to imagine Cesare from his pictures. He has such a fun readable face. Then, I add some naughty tom cat characteristics and voila! We have Gaston the Alpha Cat. I think I like writing about animals more than anything else.

I can tell you enjoy writing Gaston because you do it so well. He’s quite the fellow.

I love what you said about art, and how you’re making sure your family has it in their lives. I couldn’t agree more!

I’m beginning to think Gaston might become the story protagonist and everyone else is support. The Arts have help me hang on to my humanity. I highly recommend it. 😊

Kymber April 24, 2020 - 9:37 pm

LOL @ Gaston being the protagonist. I highly recommend the arts, too, for the same reason. 🙂

She reminds me of Meryl Streep in Devil Wears Prada the way she purses her lips and look at you as if you were wasting her time. Love it!
