I’m so jealous! I wanted to lead a band but the band mates didn’t want to work as hard as I did.

I used to read music but I don’t remember anymore.
When I did have a band for about a day, I got two songs nto a performance before we were shut down by the cops. Evidently, Denton county didn’t allow “field” concerts back then.

These are fun. Yes. I play guitar. And I’ve always wanted to play piano. I can read music if I stop and count the lines. 🙂 Mostly I play by ear. I have so many memories involving music, but some of my favorite are with my late husband, sitting in the living room with our guitars and writing songs. Thanks, Kymber!

Good morning, and happy timezones, Kymber!! First of all, 🫨🫨🫨 to your number four answer! How awesome is that!!!!
1) Yes. I play (in order of learning them) piano, guitar, and trombone. I also play the “human voice” instrument more often than the others.
2) I was just thinking that I wish I could play harp. There’s a harpist I follow on social media, who does all kinds of cool things (she can play Metallica on a harp!). I also wish I could play cello (I’ve tried, and I think I could if I gave it enough time).
3) Yes, I’ve been reading music since third grade, when I learned piano. I was very blessed that my parents signed me up with a teacher who not only taught us to play piano, we had a weekly music theory class at her house, as well.
4) There are so many . . . I’ll give you two. The first was my freshman year in high school. We had gotten a first degree rating at marching contest in the fall, and had played our spring concert contest. We were all waiting in the lobby of the hall to find out what rating we got, when the band director appeared, holding the Sweeptstakes trophy that we had won! We went insane!
The second was from college, when our symphonic band played at TMEA (Texas Music Educator’s Association) and got a standing ovation. I still get all emotional when I think about that.

It was my dream, but it didn’t last. I got married and had kids. lol 😀 Someday maybe I’ll tell some stories about it. 😀
