Sisterly Humor: The Mix-Up That Made Us Laugh

One day, while shopping with The Littles, Lrya was looking at small books on a shelf. She picked up a cute book that had a clasp to keep it shut. Her expression was a mixture of admiration and delight at what she’d discovered.

Lilly, being the older sister she is, came to look at the book, too. And nodding with great authority, said, “Lrya, that’s a diarrhea book.”

She meant “diary.” lol

And that, my friends, is a touch of booomcha.

Good one without even trying! Mom made those kind of mistakes as an adult when she lived in Germany. She speaks German but sometimes mixed up words and things got a bit “odd” as an adult.

LOL Thank you! I can understand that. I mix up words all the time. 😀

A wonderful moment. The honesty of the young folk always provides some amazing sound bites as they discover things and words is a constant source of smiles. Happy Friday Kymber. Allan

What a delightful little moment you’ve captured! The innocence, the confidence of big-sister authority, and that priceless mix-up of “diary” into “diarrhea” is pure childhood magic—those unscripted lines no writer could invent. Your storytelling preserves the humor and tenderness so vividly that we can see Lrya’s wonder and Lilly’s certainty as if we were right there in the aisle smiling along.

And that playful “touch of booomcha” at the end is the perfect flourish—it leaves the reader with the same warm, amused glow that only real-life moments can give. Thank you for sharing such a joyful slice of life; it’s a gentle reminder that the smallest scenes often hold the biggest charm.
