Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #62:

  1. If you were a fruit, what fruit would you be and why?
  2. What is one thing you wish you knew more about?
  3. How do you handle failure?

Here are my answers:

  1. A strawberry because they taste good and smell good, too.
  2. Gardening. This girl does not have a green thumb, but I like to learn new things and try them out.
  3. I bury my head for a bit, then I pick myself up and try again.

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

NOTE: I apologize for any questions that may be repeats. I’m not doing it on purpose. lol

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I need to learn that, too.

That’s definitely a good approach.

Happy Sunday to you, Allan.

If you were a fruit, what fruit would you be and why?
An orange because it helps people feel better when sick with colds/flu.

What is one thing you wish you knew more about?
I wish I knew more about the stock market and investing.

How do you handle failure?
It depends on the type of failure. Sometimes I cry and grope. Other times, I’m humbled and think it’s what I get. Other times, I learn something and grow.

A pineapple. I love how they look and taste, the pricky outside and sweetness inside.
French, I want to be fluent someday.
Try again. I am quite stubborn. Unless I realize it isn’t worth the time and energy, of course. Sometimes you just have to give up on a project, or at least put it on the back burner (I love this English expression) for a while. I am thinking mostly of my books here.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 25, 2025 - 5:14 pm

I love pineapple, too. 🙂

That would be wonderful! I hope you are fluent someday.

Stubbornness can really help in a situation like that. I agree with you about putting it on the backburner. (That is a cool saying. LOL)

Thank you so much for playing. Happy Weekend!

Fun questions, Kymber — and I like your answers 🙂

Here are mine:

— a peach. because that’s my favorite fruit
— architecture. it’s such an interesting topic to me
— I used to despise when I failed. But I’ve received great advice from various places about looking at failure differently. Failure still disappoints me, sure. But I see it as a necessary part of stretching. When I explore and try different stuff, failure is going to happen. It’s a setback and a lesson that can teach me.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 25, 2025 - 9:15 am

Peaches are good!

I agree! That is an interesting topic.

That’s an awesome approach to failure. I’m glad I learned that.

Thank you so much for playing! Happy Friday!

I have so many favorite fruits. It’s hard to pick one. I love mangosteen, jackfruit, mango, and avocado, and the list goes on. I’m fond of fruits and vegetables.

When I fail or am rejected, I’ll seek another door because there are always opportunities.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 25, 2025 - 9:11 am

I’ve never had those fruits before except the mango and avocado. Which I love.

That’s a very positive approach. 🙂

I wish I knew more about cooking. I enjoy it, but would like to be a master.
I handle failure by picking out the positive aspects when it happens.

Great answer, John! I think a pear would be lovely.

That sounds like a worthy thing to pursue! I could see you being a master chef.

Kymber <3 … You couldn’t fail at anything (too purrfect) but if ya need to hideout or bury it in the garden, I know some “cats” that love digging. Seriously, thought that was a characteristic in dogs only (lol). Going to copy those divine answers 😉 and off to claw on the couch! Love you!

What is one thing you wish you knew more about? I wish I knew more about Astro Physics and Astronomy. They are interesting topics.
How do you handle failure? I get annoyed and embarrassed, and sometimes angry and depressed. But it depends on what kind failure it is.

Yes, I can see how it would matter what kind of failure it is.

I’d be a granny Smith apple, they are my absolute favorite fruit.
I’d like to know more about flyfishing so I could do that with my husband. We always s fish together, but that’s a new skill to me; fly fishing.
If failure and rejection are the same, I hate it! I hate getting rejected by editors over and over. Its a sign of not being good enough. I want Tobe more than good enough!

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 24, 2025 - 4:04 pm

Oooh a granny smith! Good one! Fly fishing looks so peaceful. I hear you. I hope you find the right editor soon.

Interesting questions, and I like your strawberry answer!
Mine would be a peach because I like them all kinds of ways, pie, jelly, cobbler, and just natural as they are.
Failure is my usual state. I always assume whatever happens it will fail. So I don’t get my hopes up, ever. Then when something does occasionally work out I am so grateful and happy for it.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 24, 2025 - 3:41 pm

Thank you.

That’s such a good answer about the peach! Well, I hope you have more things that work out rather than failures.

Thank you for playing. Happy Thursday!

I love these posts 🩷. I would be grapes, my favourite fruit. I am learning more about Asia and the orient through various books. I am very determined so always succeed in the end. Sometimes it’s really hard but I get there eventually.

Happy timezones, friend!! 💜 Good questions!! Let’s see . . .

First, what fruit would I be? This is turning out to be harder than I thought it would be. At the risk of seeming immodest, I think I would be a passion fruit (I just now thought of that). They are round or oval shaped, which fits me, have a thick skin (it’s hard to offend me), and they have a juicy center full of pulp and seeds. I don’t know how “pulpy” I am, but I think the name fits me. Passion. When I care about something, I am most definitely passionate about it. And I am also filled (I hope) with COMpassion. 💜

Second, I wish I knew more about what heaven is going to look like. But, it seems, the only way to know that is to get there, so I’m just going to have to wait, because it seems I still have work to do, this side of heaven.

Third, not very well. I can’t stand failing. It really gets me down. When I make mistakes, it upsets me. I want to be perfect. I know I’m not, of course. That being said, though, when I do make mistakes, I own them.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha April 24, 2025 - 10:38 am

Happy timezones, Jeff! So glad you’re here!

I agree about the passion fruit. I know you’re passionate about what you believe, for one thing. 🙂

I would like to know the answer to that, too.

That’s a good way to deal with mistakes, I think. To own them. Then you can deal with the rest.

Thank you so much for playing! I enjoyed your answers! Happy Thursday!
