My daughter and I went apple picking when we were in California. But the apple trees were very small and stunted – nothing like the apple trees I remember in Indiana and Michigan.

I haven’t seen the ones in CA, but that is neat to know. I’ll go apple pickin’ anytime anywhere. LOL

Yay for picking apples! And eating them and baking with them and making applesauce. And for making delicious memories 🙂

I love the tradition of picking apples, Kymber. Plus I love apples, apple cider, and anything derived from apples. 🍎🍎💖

Aren’t they wonderful? We picked apples and pumpkins, and had cider and freshly made donuts. 😀

Very nice. My grandparents used to live on “Apple Hill” up above Placerville. Tons of apple orchards up there, and impossible to get around during the fall. 😀

Wow! That sounds so nice. I live for Autumn and visiting apple orchards is a must. 🙂 I love that your grandparents lived on “Apple Hill.”

I will do that, AM! We picked some honey crisp apples on that day. And pumpkins, too. 🩷🌺

Beautiful autumn day to enjoy some outdoor fun. What a treat to taste a fresh-picked apple.

Kymber Hawke November 7, 2024 - 8:05 am

It really is. There is nothing like taking the fruit from the tree and eating it right there. We picked pumpkins, too, and had cider and fresh donuts.

When I lived in the Midwest a trip to pick apples was a seasonal must. Thanks for the memories.

Yes, it is here, too, for us. We usually go to all the apple orchards around us in the season. This picture was taken at Spicer’s Apple Orchard.

I remember when I worked for a landscape company in the summers (1957-1959), Spicers had a stand in Novi. Our crew went to Novi once a week and I always wanted to stop but time didn’t allow.

Spicer’s is awesome! I read a history of them not too long ago, and they have been around a long time. I’m glad you knew what I was talking about. Now Spicers is about 10 miles from me in Fenton.

Love this! We used to take our boys every year, and now that they’re grown they go on their own.

I’m so glad they kept the tradition going. We did some apple and pumpkin picking that day. 🙂 And had cider and donuts. 🩷🌺
