She thought he was interested in her. He always waited around outside till no one was there so she could come over. She knew he watched her, she’d seen him.
Hadn’t he been attentive whenever she went to visit him?
Until the night she leaned in for a kiss.
Never had she wanted anyone more. Never had she been so mortified.
She wanted to stop thinking about him, but she couldn’t. The way he’d thrown his arms up as if… as if… he was disgusted by her. This had never happened to her before.
To add to her degradation, she realized she would never be able to stop thinking about him.
