They came from a single breath of molten glass, two small birds lifting out of the same glow and turning toward each other as if that was the only direction they knew.
The woman who kept them by her reading chair said the room felt less hollow with them there. She liked the way they leaned in, like they understood the kind of closeness that carries you through the plain, unremarkable hours.
Now they’re waiting for someone else who needs that same quiet company. Two gentle souls, joined from the start, carrying a small echo of every place they’ve been set down.

Lovely!
Thank you, Jan!
I love the poem – is that your Kymber?
Thank you, Peter-James. 🙂 You know it! 😀
Beautiful! I love things like that..
Thank you, Lorrie. I love little bird figurines myself. I’m hoping these sweet little birds find a good home. 😀
A beautiful story to accompany the birds. Do you give then home? Maggie
Hi, Maggie! I’m so glad you enjoyed the story. I’m hoping someone will take these sweet little birds home.
That’s lovely, with an even lovelier story behind it. 💜
Thank you, Jeff. Leah and I feel like every keepsake we find has a story. I hope these little birds will speak to someone very special. 🙂
My parents had glass birds that looked just like that
That’s wonderful, Thomas! They felt familiar to me when I curated them for the booth. It reminded me of my grandmother.
This is a beautifully tender piece—quiet, evocative, and full of feeling.
The image of the two glass birds “lifting out of the same glow” is especially striking; it gives the figurine a sense of origin and soul, as if it carries memory within it. I love how you move from object to emotion so seamlessly, turning something simple into a symbol of companionship and gentle presence.
Thank you kindly, Vijay. I hope this little figurine fills someone’s heart full of joy soon. 😀
You’re most welcome! 😀
I’m sure it will—there’s something special about pieces made with that kind of intention. It’s not just a figurine, it carries a bit of warmth with it, and someone is definitely going to feel that.
Hope it finds the perfect home soon. 🌿
Its so cute! 🥰 I love Holly, its a cute little town in the county I grew up in. ☺️❤️
Thank you, John. Holly is wonderful! I spent my teen years, and some adult years in Clarkston, moving to Holly only 6 years ago. The Mister and I love it here so much. We’ve also lived in Ortonville. Oakland County is so nice.
Do you ever come visit your sister?
