The day after Christmas shrugs off its red and green,
tinsel tangled in yesterday’s memories.
The leftover turkey winks from the fridge,
while socks and sweaters lie tangled in ceasefire.
No more carols, just the quiet hum of gratefulness,
pajamas worn like badges of festive war!
We sip lukewarm coffee, laughter fizzing softly,
appreciating love wrapped not in paper,
but in moments between the unwrapped chaos.

A beautiful poem Kymber! I’m late getting to it, but it was amazing, so beautiful!
No worries, my friend. I’m so glad you like it. 🩷🌸
Very beautiful poetry, but that couple on the couch would not be sitting there if the roof was leaking so badly it was letting the snow fall INSIDE!😂 (Just teasin’!)
❤️&🙏, c.a.
LOL You got me laughing, which is great! Thank you so much! 🌺🩷
The quiet of the days after Christmas are rather soothing after the hectic prelude to the festivities. With just the two of us (and Teddy) we have a cozy holiday. I always think the Christmas tree looks sad after all the packages at her feet have disappeared…….I tell her “there’s always next year to look forward to!”…………………….. Hugs, Pam and Teddy
I love the idea of a cozy holiday. How nice. 🩷🌺 I think the tree looks sad, too. lol Hugs.
Beautiful
Thank you so much!
😇
That is a very nice after-Christmas poem. I hope there is not too much leftover turkey. It is not fun to eat turkey every day for three weeks.
Thank you, Thomas. You are right about that! LOL
Low key here. Take care. Hugs.
That’s good, Teagan! You take care, too. Hugs 🩷🌺
A lovely poem. Unfortunately, both of us are working today. But at least my wife got to work from home.
Oh, I’m sorry you both had to work. I hope you had a good day anyway. 🙂
It was a good day. I get to work with some of the best people. My library friends are the bestest!!! 🥰🥰
That’s wonderful!
Lovely!

Sounds like a relaxing day after Christmas chaos, Kymber. Have a great day. Allan
Thank you, Allan! Happy Caturday!
You captured the ease of this day after Christmas, perfectly, Kymber. I love the sentiment of pajamas worn like badges… super!
Thank you, Suzette! 🩷🌺

octave begins to day!
That’s right! 😀
Newly-opened gifts under the tree awaiting their first usage, wear, etc. Turkey chilling in the fridge for turkey salad sandwiches tonight. Waiting for the chance to see a small-ish bit of snow to cover the landscape post-Christmas. Hope you have a great day-after, Kymber!
Thank you! Your day sounds wonderful!
è come quando dopo una giornata intera con le scarpe chiuse e strette, ti metti in pantofole= total comfort. Tuttavia anche oggi sono come sempre dedita a cucina & co.
Sembra meraviglioso! Ti auguro un felice anno nuovo!
A gloriously calm day spent buying new wiper blades and picking up groceries!
Sounds great to me! 😀
It’s a day where Mom works here and there and we do a lot of relaxing and getting things back to normal. Hope your Christmas was Merry!
That sounds like a good day!
It was. I hope you had a merry Christmas, too!
For us the day after THIS year is going to breakfast with our nephew we haven’t seen in a year and our youngest son. I can’t wait to catch up and maybe I’ll even remember to take pictures!
Have a lovely time, Kim! I think that’s wonderful!
