Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #68:

  1. Would you rather wear bell-bottomed pants or sport a mohawk?
  2. What was your nickname in school?
  3. How do you feel about clowns?

Here are my answers:

  1. Either one, as I have done both.
  2. Kimmy
  3. No thank you!

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I would much rather wear bell-bottom pants. Especially since I no longer have enough hair to do a mohawk!
I had a couple. My baseball (pony-league) nickname was “Redbone,” because I was skinny and had long red hair. During high school, my nickname was “Bick,” which is half of my last name.
I think clowns are fascinating. They can also be terrifying, and there’s a reason that they are so often featured in horror stories.

Thank you for playing, Jeff!

Your nicknames are great!

You are so right about clowns and horror movies. That sure hits the nail on the head!

Happy Wednesday!

Ahhh, good questions Kymber

1) Bell bottoms….for the obvious reason, if you have seen my photo
2) Goldilocks…wish that applied today
3) Ambivalent. Funny clows-OK. Scary clowns-go away

Happy Sunday Kymber. Allan

I can’t picture you in a Mohawk! 😆

Bell Bottoms for me. I still wear them!
“Deb”. I get that even now.
Neutral on the clowns. I don’t seek them out, though.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 2:33 pm

It was a product of a misspent youth, Debbie! LOLOL I was in junior high.

I don’t blame you for not seeking them out. lol

Thank you so much for playing!

Reply
Teri Polen December 5, 2025 - 8:52 am

I’d have to say bellbottoms – no way I could pull off a mohawk, but if I did it would be purple.
Didn’t have a nickname
I don’t think clowns are funny – more annoying like mimes – but they don’t scare me.

Have a great weekend, Kymber!

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 8:56 am

Purple is a great color for a mohawk!

I’m glad they don’t scare you. IT ruined clowns for me. LOL

Bell bottoms because no one touches my do.
Just a shortened version of my name I’m not sharing
Clowns? Are you kidding? Uhhhhh NO!

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 7:06 am

It was more of a faux hawk, but I don’t have pictures. Many of my photos were left behind. 🙁

I don’t blame you for not sharing. 🙂

I knew you would be a total no on clowns! lol

Fear of clowns! It’s a real thing! Just terrified of them.

Is yours a phobia, Bee?

Reply
bmitjessesue December 5, 2025 - 12:53 pm

It could be. I absolutely hate the month of October. Everything is Halloween and most of it is clowns.

Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 1:02 pm

Yes, the clowns do run rampant during that time.

bmitjessesue December 6, 2025 - 12:18 am

It’s not just that there are clowns. I could deal with that, I think. But they are all made into the scariest and creepiest element for Hallowe’en. I mean there is even a show I can’t watch because it has…scary looking clown.

Kymber @booomcha December 6, 2025 - 9:00 am

Oh, yes, I definitely see what you mean.

Here are my answers

Would you rather wear bell-bottomed pants or sport a mohawk? Bell-bottomed pants, no contest
What was your nickname in school? Tumpe
How do you feel about clowns? I loved them when I was a kid. However, modern culture has turned me against them.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 7:00 am

Why Tumpe? I’m curious.

Yes! I totally get that about modern culture.

Thank you for playing, Thomas!

Hi Kymber, Nice you are feeling better!
I got comfortable with bell bottoms during a six-year stint in the NAVY back in the ’70’s. (How can I be that old? I don’t remember a high-school nickname, but my dad always called me Juan-two. The only clowns I was aware of growing up were rodeo clowns, who provided a valuable, if dangerous, service. I reckon I grew up with a respect for their selfless bravery.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 6:59 am

Hi, Jon! So good to see you!

Oh, yes, I can see how you would have gotten used to bell bottoms from the Navy.

What was Juan-2 for? 😀

I guess I didn’t consider rodeo clowns,, but I should have. They are brave indeed!

Reply
Jon December 5, 2025 - 7:47 pm

Juan-two is silly. In eastern New Mexico, where I grew up, Jon or John might be rendered Juan. Juan vaguely sounds like 1 to English speakers. And, well, 1 is always followed by 2.

So nice that you are back and with the “Get to Know You” posts. My answers: 1 Bell-bottomed pants. I sort of like them.
2 Flacundenga, gata flaca (Skinny, scrawny cat). Being called skinny was not a compliment in Cuba in the eighties. 3 Like bell-bottom pants. Sort of like them 🙂

Bell bottoms
Shorty (and anything else derogatory to short people)
I love all clowns, funny or scary. I loved IT, he did a great job making that clown look scary as heck!

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 6:52 am

I wonder why you can’t see the questions, Kim?

I hear you about the derogatory terms for short people. I’ve gotten some of that, too.

I loved IT, too, but Pennywise scared me a little too much. LOL

Reply
Kim Smyth December 5, 2025 - 10:00 am

I don’t know, I clicked on it twice in the reader but the questions weren’t there. 🤷‍♀️

I got so used to the nicknames that when I was in Korea, I bought a silk jacket and had the Japanese word for “little one” embroidered on it. (Skoche)😂

Pennywise was rather frightening!

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 5, 2025 - 10:48 am

That’s strange. I’m going to check this out and see if there is anything I can do.

That silk jacket sounds lovely! I like what you had embroidered on it.

For real!

Awww.. So wonderful to see this again….
Mine would be…
Bell-bottomed pants or sport a mohawk? Bell- Bottomed pants for sure… Too shy to try and sport a Mohawk

Nickname during my High School years was ALF… I used it as a way to express my crush- “Always Love Frances.” And 39 years later, those words are still true, because I’m still with her and our High School friends, still call me ALF till this day…

Clowns – Eh, they don’t really bother me. I actually enjoy the talent they show and how they entertain.

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 4, 2025 - 4:52 pm

I can totally understand being too shy for a mohawk.

Alf? That’s great, and it’s terrific you’re still together!

Thank you so much for playing, Willie.

I don’t have enough hair for a Mohawk, so by default I’ll have to go with the bell-bottoms.

My nickname was Magoo. Some thought I resembled the character.
Don’t like clowns. Behind that panted smile is something sinister.

I enjoyed reading your answers! Mine are:
Bell bottoms – love/loved them
Nickname = Hullabaloo or Chelsea, or just Barb
Clowns – No! Hated clowns since I was a kid and one threw a skunk at me at a rodeo. Or so I thought. It was just a towel, but it made me spill my coke and popcorn, and I hated clowns ever since. haha 🙂
Thanks for the fun questions 🙂

Reply
Kymber @booomcha December 4, 2025 - 2:37 pm

Kymber! I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through, and that I’ve been so absent on WP for a while. How’re you holding up? It’s lovely to see you posting.

I always enjoy these posts from you! So, clowns, huh? Do you have a phobia or a general dislike for their creepiness? Secondly, is there photographic proof of this mohawk?! 😁

Bell bottoms – I love them but I’m always too short these days for decent flare jeans as stores seem to be making “regular” length longer and longer!
Caz (which went to “Cazza”, not at my behest).
I’d have a drink with Pennywise.

Caz xxxx

Heeeeey there! I’m doing well now, thanks. I feel way better after surgery than I did before. It’s lovely to see you, too.

So, clowns… not a phobia really, mostly a feeling of creepiness ever since Pennywise (with whom you’d have a drink!). lol Stephen King really scares me sometimes. lol

Unfortunately, there is no proof of said mohawk, but it was more like a faux hawk. LOL I loved it at the time. I was in junior highschool.

I’m short too and have noticed the sizes getting longer. It’s not right. lol

Love and hugs to you! xoxo
