Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.
So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.
Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!
Round #51:
If you could start a charity, what would it be for?
What subjects should be taught in school but aren’t?
What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
Here are my answers:
- Domestic Violence Shelters and Support Groups
- How to properly take care of a bank account.
- When Mr. Darcy confesses to Elizabeth Bennet, “In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” And, “You have bewitched me, body And soul.”

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo
Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

1) People escaping violence, whether domestic or foreign.
2) Life skills, banking, job applications and interviews, how to withstand rejection and disappointment. Life is not always fair and it helps when you know that from the beginning. There are no gold stars just for showing up once you turn 18.
3) Any scene showing someone beating the odds for deserved success. I like to cheer for the underdog.
Happy weekend Kymber. Allan
Those would be good charities to have, for sure.
I think that definitely needs to be taught in school.
Me, too! That’s awesome!
Thank you so much for playing, Allan! Happy Saturday!
Hi, Kymber! Here are my answers.
1. I like your answer, and might do the same, but I would also like to do more for special needs adults. There are plenty of resources for children with special needs, but once they get out of school, those seem to dwindle away.
2. That’s a tough one for me. Your answer is good there, too. I think money management would be a good one. But we seem to be failing in social skills. Social media is a big cause of that, because we don’t truly know how to interact with people anymore.
3. Mine is the scene in Jurassic Park when Drs. Grant and Sadler see the dinosaurs for the first time. I start crying every. single. time. LOL!!
That sounds like a great idea for a charity, Jeff. I would support that.
Yes, that is so true about social skills. I agree with you.
I love it! I can see why it makes you cry and I’ll never forget how I felt that first time I watched it. 🙂
Thank you so much for playing! Happy weekend to you!
I would start a charity for homeless and mistreated dogs and cats.
I think basic accounting should be taught in schools so people can handle their finances.
My favorite scene from a movie is the final dance in Dirty Dancing
That’s so sweet. I could definitely get behind that.
I think you’re right about basic accounting.
I looooooooooove that scene! Great pick!
Thank you so much for playing, Eugi! Happy weekend!
You’re welcome, Kymber!
Great questions again!
1. Id make an eating disorder charity just for over 35s. Theres more complex issues that arise that are often not addressed, and if i have to hear one more medical person tell me not to compare myself to others on instagram I will scream. I’m 41, why would I even compare myself to a 21 year old influencer? There’s issues with families, kids, empty nest, careers etc. None of that gets covered because ED treatment tends to aim itself towards teenagers and young adults.
2. Actual history. I’m in Wales, history was all about England which is not our history, and left out everything important. The curriculum is English centric.
3. In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, “It’s all going to be gone soon” “What do we do?” “Enjoy it”. Brilliant movie.
Thank you so much! 🙂
I think there needs to be a charity for that, too. I know I would support it.
Ooooh, yes, I can see why you would want actual history as well. It’s important.
I love that movie and when they say that, too.
Thank you so much for playing! Happy weekend!
Great answers! For me…
1. An organization to facilitate getting lightweight, custom wheelchairs to people instead of the monsters provided by hospitals and insurance.
2. Cursive & grammar. The number of people who can’t read cursive or write clearly is staggering. In addition people who cannot read cursive cannot read the Constitution and only know what they are told.
3. When Natalie Wood kisses Tony Curtis, Mancini’s Sweetheart Tree plays, and the tree bursts onto white blossoms. Blake Edwards” rom-com The Great Race. 1965 Tony Curtis, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon.
Yesss, I’m so with you on that charity!
You are so right about cursive and grammar.
I love that! Tony Curtis and Natalie Wood – I’ll watch any movie with them in it.
Thank you so much for playing, George! Happy Friday!
I thought I had sent this already, but I don’t see it.

It was in my pending comments for some reason. 🙂 I have found it and opened a tab for it, too. Can’t wait to see your answers!
I’d probably create a charity for animals or children.
My first thought was dragon riding, but your idea about bank accounts is probably more useful.
The only scene in a movie that ever gave me goosebumps (and I loved it) was the first Paranormal Activity movie when Katy is pulled from the bed and dragged into the hallway.
Those would be wonderful charities.
Now, see, I think dragon riding is incredibly important. 😀
That was so chilling!!! I remember that scene!
Thank you so much for playing, Teri. Happy Friday!

1. For cats
2. Understanding money
3. Serendipity – the moment on the ice where they finally get together.
Thank you, Esther.
I think a charity for cats would be great!
Yes, I agree with you there.
What a lovely moment!
Thank you so much for playing, Esther! Happy Thursday!

“He is the boogie man,” from the original Friday the Thirteenth.
Job interview skills
I think that is a fine charity to have.
That was a scary moment in Friday the 13th!
Job interview skills would be a really good class to have.
Thank you so much for playing! Happy Thursday!
Thank you for the questions.
You bet, John. I’m glad you like them.
Financial literacy–great answer. I am stunned it isn’t mandatory in all HS.
Me, too! My dad taught it as a math teacher years ago in high school.
🌞
Hi, Lorrie! 🌸🌸
Hi Kymber!! I hope all is good in your world today!
Thank you! It is. 🙂 How about you?
Oh yes… Cold here today but I am warm and cozy inside. We painted our space last weekend and I am having fun putting everything back on the walls…
It is so nice to freshen up your space and rearrange everything once in awhile. I am grateful our space is small enough to manage!
Wow, that’s great that you painted! I love the feeling after fresh paint on the walls. Glad all is well!
Oh, how I shall miss these challenges ❤️
And, oh, how I shall miss you!
In fact, I miss you already!🌸
❤️ ❤️ ❤️ We will keep in touch somehow. There’s always email, you know. I will keep yours for that.
That would be great. I’d love to hear how you’re doing. ❤️
Love your answers as usual, Kymber! 😊 Those lines definitely give me chills too! Hoping to get a post going for this one 💕 beautiful charity choices, as well. 🙏 🐈 🐈⬛
