Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #71:

  1. What are some of your favorite songs from your teenage years that you still listen to?
  2. Who was your favorite actor or actress as a kid?
  3. What was the title of your first job?

Here are my answers:

  1. Anything by U2, Bryan Adams, Sting, or Springsteen
  2. Johnny Depp. I was 14, I think, when he appeared in Nightmare on Elm Street.
  3. I was a Sales Associate at JC Penney. I made minimum wage at $4.10/hour, and I worked in the Young Men’s Department, spending most of the day folding jeans and checking people out. lol

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

Hello, these are fun, but tonight answers came right to me, so I’m joining in.
1. I remember liking older bands, but in my teens I enjoyed Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Bachman Turner, and so forth; and still listen whenever I can.
2. I liked Ali McGraw, Roy Scheider, Paul La Matt, and a bunch of TV stars, including this one guy-John Travolta-who got a movie or two!
3. My first job was at Dairy Queen. I’d gotten a work permit, being under 16, so really only did ice cream and fountain work, but learned how to do some of the cooking, as well, since we had a brazier. No title! It was 50 cents an hour, but I got to buy my own clothes and go out a little bit, so it was a good job. The managers/owners were good people, and reinforced good work ethic.

Kymber @booomcha January 4, 2026 - 11:18 am

I’m so glad you joined in. 😁😊

That’s some good music right there.

Ah, yes, Travolta. Right on. 👍

That sounds like a good job. It sounds like the owners were real gems.

Thank you so much for playing! Happy Sunday!

Happy time zones, my friend!! 💜💜
1) So I was a teenager in the seventies, so pretty much anything by Led Zeppelin, Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Deep Purple. I was into hard rock and prog rock, mostly.
2) When I was but a lad, I had a huge crush on Diana Rigg, who played Miss Peel on the black and white British show, The Avengers. I believe her last role was in Game of Thrones.
3) Miniature golf course attendant. When I was a teenager, I worked at a mini golf course that was owned by the family of one of my best friends. Second-best job I ever had.

You know, our human has never been into music or movies. The radio is always on but she doesn’t have a favorite and she has never been much into actors either. We do know, her first job was as a waitress at Poppin Fresh Pies which is no more 🙂 Fun idea!
