A Prayer to Heaven (NTT)

A Prayer to Heaven

In a meadow full of beauty
under the glow of the moon and stars
she wandered in trust and peaceful silence
with the heavenly Lord as her guide.

Prayers crossed her pink lips in whispers of grace
praising the father she worshipped above
sending messages for lost friends and family
of hope for eternal peace and joy.

Looking to the night sky she called for them
Each cherished face still fresh in her mind
She thanked each soul for their strength and comfort
and the legacy they all left behind.

As she turned she thought of the memories
Then smiled as they filled her spirit with love
Grateful for all of the blessings and lessons
Drawing her closer to God.

Thank you Martha! It is amazing how one picture can give two different ideas. As you will see when Kymber posts her poem this weekend. I’m very literal so I saw closed eyes and the idea came from there. Kymber, lovely lady she is, saw the beauty of the night sky etc. I can’t wait for everyone to read hers.

Thank you Kevin. Very kind. It’s my first poem since I was a child under the age of ten years old. The picture was just so beautiful, I had to give it a try. It was her closed eyes that gave me the idea.
