Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts!

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Round #48 – This or That:

  1. Notorious or unnoticed?
  2. Read thoughts or speak to animals?
  3. Planning the future or living spontaneously?

Here are my answers:

These were hard for me, and I’ll probably change my mind, but… here they are!

  1. Unnoticed!
  2. Without hesitation on this one: Speak to animals! All of them!
  3. I’ve done both and I like living spontaneously. It’s how I write as an author, too.

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

Notorious or unnoticed?
Notorious when I was young, but now I like being unnoticed. So much calmer.

Read thoughts or speak to animals?
I speak to animals, it comes naturally 😉

Planning the future or living spontaneously?
I like to live spontaneously.

Fun questions! My answers are:
1. unnoticed is best for me. I never want to be in the spotlight for anything.
2. I already kind of do both and have been told I’m a little bit psychic as I can read people and their feelings just by looking at them most times. And of course I speak to all animals, even spiders, silently and out loud even. I think they love to be talked to. It would be nice to actually hear them speak in our language but they are speaking to us as best they can with their body movements, expressions, and sounds they make. We just have to pay attention. 🙂

Kymber Hawke January 3, 2025 - 1:26 pm

Thank you!

I don’t either, I’m with you! I agree with you about animals. I’ve always thought they know more than we think and they do express themselves without speaking.

Thank you so much for playing! Happy Friday!

Unnoticed except by my alma mater and the alumni association.
I’d love to talk to cats and maybe sparrows.
Live spontaneity. The exception is cruising. To get a wheelchair accessible cabin we have to book a cruise as soon as it is released, often 2 years in advance.

Hi, George! These are great answers! I can only imagine the frustration of trying to get an accessible cabin. I haven’t been on a cruise with my wheelchair; we last went on one clear back in 2010 and I didn’t need it then. But I wanted to thank you because now I know what I have to do to try to get an accessible room if I do book one.

Fun to join in another “Get to Know You”! My answers are the same as yours for two questions:
1. Unnoticed
2. Talk to animals. That’d be amazing!
3. Planner. That helps lessen my anxiety some.

Have a great day 🙂

Reply
Kymber Hawke January 3, 2025 - 6:30 am

That would be amazing to talk to animals!

I can see how being a planner would relieve your anxiety. That’s how my son is, too.

Great answers! Thank you so much for playing! Happy Friday!

Notorious or unnoticed? As a writer, I’d like to be “well-known.” It helps with the book sales. I’m not sure if I’d like to be notorious, though!
Read thoughts or speak to animals? Read thoughts…that’s a superpower that could be useful.
Planning the future or living spontaneously? I’m not great at planning anything. Well, I do make decent plans when I play war games on my computer, but in real life? I suck at it. I don’t even make outlines when I write fiction!

Reply
Kymber Hawke January 2, 2025 - 6:35 pm

I can understand wanting to be “well-known.” And I write my fiction like that, too! I’m a total pantser! lol 😀

Thank you so much for playing. I enjoyed your answers! Happy Thursday!

Unnoticed – makes it much easier to read.
Definitely speak to animals. I’d love to know what Bond is thinking sometimes.
I usually have some sort of vague plan, but I’m not upset when life doesn’t go by that road map.

Kymber Hawke January 2, 2025 - 4:29 pm

That’s true about being unnoticed! Good point! lol

I really like your answers, Teri. Thank you so much for playing and Happy Thursday!

These are my answers

Notorious or unnoticed? – unnoticed, famous maybe but not notorious
Read thoughts or speak to animals? – just like you speak to animals
Planning the future or living spontaneously? – I like to plan for the future but living spontaneously is also important, so I can’t pick one or the other.

Reply
Kymber Hawke January 2, 2025 - 3:22 pm

I can understand not wanting to be notorious.
I can also understand not being able to pick either one.

Thank you so much for playing, Thomas! Happy Thursday!

Hello Kymber,
Great questions. I had to think on these for a while
1. Unnoticed for sure…a behind the scenes person

I would not want to read thoughts, I have enough problems remembering what I had for breakfast last week…LOL. And well I am not good at speaking to animals…so there you have it. ‘
I love planning. So yes loose plans for the future, are good for me.

Have a lovely day. Cheers

Hola!
1 Very much unnoticed, except for my books, of course 🙂 In that area, I wanted to be noticed and notorious if needed.
2 Speak to animals, for sure.
3 A planner in the big scheme, spontaneous in the details.
Happy 2025!

Happy New Year, Kymber! 🥂🍾 Fun questions, as always. 🙂

1) “Notorious” means being famous for something bad, so no thanks to that! 😆 I enjoy being somewhat well-known (and hopefully, well thought of) online, but am perfectly content to go unnoticed in real life.

2) Speak to animals, without a doubt! I speak to my dog all the time. Wouldn’t it be fun if she could answer back? Well, maybe not…😆

3) We mostly live spontaneously, but need to come up with a plan for our old age, in case of illness or infirmity. Not fun to think about!

Kymber Hawke January 2, 2025 - 3:08 pm

Thank you! Happy New Year to you, too!

  1. You are definitely well thought of online as far as I can tell. 🙂
  2. LOL That’s how I felt about the cats. Until I realized they can get those judgy expressions and I might not want to know after all! LOL
  3. Yes, that’s true. It sure doesn’t sound like fun, but it’s needed anyway.

Thank you so much for playing!

First of all, I love the phrase, “happy timezones.” I don’t know why, but it makes me smile every time! Now, on to the questions.

This is tricky. I think of myself as more introverted, but maybe I’m more extroverted than I think. I kind of like being “notorious” among my friends. But it depends on how you define notorious. Going by the standard definition, which is “widely and unfavorably known,” I certainly don’t want that. But if we use a more flexible definition . . . I’m “notorious” for my loud shirts that I wear to church and to work at the library. I suppose, if I wanted to be “unnoticed,” I wouldn’t dress like that, right?
I most certainly do NOT want to be able to read other peoples’ thoughts. I’ve seen that episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It drove poor Buffy insane! Talking to animals would be much cooler.
Sometimes planning is a necessary evil, but I prefer to live spontaneously. My reading for the upcoming year, for example. One of my friends plans out her reading list far in advance. I just read whatever strikes my fancy, largely influenced by our new book display at the library.

Sorry for being overly verbose, here.

Reply
Kymber Hawke January 2, 2025 - 11:57 am

Ah, yes, happy timezones comes from my simming background where all the players greeted one another like that since we didn’t know who was playing from where. 😀 It just sort of stuck with me.

Oh! Yeah there is a difference on what kind of “notorious” we’re talking about. I invite you to use whichever definition you like best. I like your reasoning and the thought of you in a loud shirt. LOLOL

I think talking to animals would be very cool indeed!

I see what you mean about planning being a necessary evil sometimes.

No worries or apologies required. Your answer is great! Thanking you for playing and Happy Thursday!
