May Reading Wrap-Up!

I hope you’re having a wonderful week, Friends! And I also hope the month of May was good to you!

In my neck of the woods (the Great Lakes Area in the US), it’s been all right with temps between 55℉/13℃ to 88℉/31℃. Mostly it’s been partially sunny to sunny and breezy.🩷🌷🌺

Without further ado, here is my progress for May:

As of May 26, 2024
I read 9 books in May.

I want to read more of the “Witches of Palmetto Point” series by Wendy Wang since I’ve read 5 of them. So far, there are 13 books in the series.

I would also like to return to the “Amelia Peabody” series by Elizabeth Peters.

Next up, though, I want to read Finding Me: An Estranged Sisters New Adult Romance Novel (The Defiant Sisters Duet Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar!

I really want to read all of Jacqui Murray’s trilogies. The one I read this month was terrific!

Dark Matter (2024– )
Season 1
Severance (2022-)
Season 1
Evil (2019–2024)
Season 4
House of Bones (2010)
(TV Movie)
Totally Killer (2023)Glass (2019)
The Institute (2017)Eileen (2023)
The Lost Boys (1987)Pay the Ghost (2015)
Atlas (2024)

Some exciting movies are coming in 2024 like The Crow and Nosferatu with Bill Skarsgård. Other movies I’m looking forward to are Kingdom of the Planet of the ApesA Quiet Place: Day OneBeetlejuice 2Joker: Folie à Deux, and Wicked Part 1.

I’m really looking forward to the rest of Season 4 of Evil (2019–2024). We’ve only see episodes 1 & 2 of Season 4.

What did you read in May, and what was your favorite?

What did you watch, and what did you think about it?

May was a terrific month although I wasn’t online as much. The Mister and I spent more time outdoors since it has warmed up some. Josie-Pye, as is usual for this time of year, spends her time, busily chirping at birds and squirrels from her catio (also known as the sunporch lol).

May your day, and this coming month, bring you blessings and joy!

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I watched the fourth episode of Evil yesterday (hate it’s the last season), but I still haven’t started Dark Matter. Trying to finish a couple of other things before starting it.

That is understandable. I wish it wasn’t the last season of Evil, too. It’s so well written, and it’s got the dark type of humor I love. Sister Andrea is the GOAT. LOL She is my favorite. 🌺🩷

Kymber, thank you for reminding me about Jacqui’s books – they’re on my Kindle waiting to be read, look forward to going back in time! I read 12 books in May as I was in Sweden and totally captivated by ‘The Covenant of Water’ which I will probably read soon again and I never do that! As we have no TV, internet where we stay in Sweden my TV viewing is sparse but catching up on The Gilmore Girls and started New Amsterdam – I can see the latter becoming addictive viewing and reminds me of ‘House’. I must try some from your shows here – I’m intrigued as haven’t heard of any of them. Happy Reading and Viewing in June! xx

Wow! I will check that book out!

I list what I watched even if it wasn’t as great as I hoped it would be. So watch at your own risk. LOLOL😂😂

I love hearing about Sweden!

Thank you so much. Happy reading and viewing to you, too. xo

I haven’t read most of these, Kymber, but I’ve read all of Jacqui’s books and was entranced. Her prehistoric fiction is amazing. I’m delighted that you enjoyed them. Thanks for the wrap up and suggestion for other reads. 🙂

I am still working on Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series and now on 2nd last book. As it is summer, reading is progressing a bot more slowly. As to viewing, now watching Bridgerton, waiting for the 2nd half of latest Outlander season and last season of Handmaids Tale. Mostly watching hockey as our team has a chance to go on to the Stanley Cup final. Happy Sunday Kymber. Allan

That’s great about your hockey team! We’re waiting on Handmaid’s Tale, too. I’m behind on Outlander.

Thanks. Its been a long time since a Canadian team has won the Stanley Cup. Fingers crossed. I am almost finished the 2nd last book in the series and it has taken some twists I did not expect. Cheers. Allan

You read some great books. You read more than I do. In May I read:
(1) The Foolish and the broken, a female western by Sara Kjeldsen,
(2) Eve and Adam a fantasy by Sara Kjeldsen
(3) The West Texas Powerplant that saved the world, a book about solar energy, by Andy Bowman
(4) They Call Me Mom: Making a Difference as an Elementary School Teacher by Pete Springer
(5) A brief history of Time, updated, by Stephen hawking
(6) What this comedian said will shock you, by Bill Maher

Definitely happy to see Evil back for one final run. Just watched the first episode of Dark Matter…gonna watch the second one before judging it one way or the other. We both loved Totally Killer…big fans of Kiernan Shipka.

Reply
Kymber Hawke June 1, 2024 - 11:02 am

We’re so happy to see Evil again, too. We’ve watched each episode twice now. LOL

It took me some time to get into Dark Matter as well. But by the end, we liked it. The same went for Severance. It starts really slow but by the time you get to the last few episode, you can’t wait to understand it all. I was happy I hung on.

We’re big fans of Kiernan Shipka, too, and that movie was pretty cool. lol

I really need to get back to reading at some point. I think I have about 25 books on deck here.
Very impressive 42 of 100 and not even halfway through the year!

Thank you, Kevin. When I find a series I like, I blow right through them.

🌞 That is a lot of reading Kymber and I find it awesome! Mostly what I read is from Harlequin…other than psychology books and articles.

Horror is not my thing but you would get along great with my hubby! I find horror too hard on my nerves, even suspenseful movies make me feel jittery! No, it wasn’t always this way for me, only developed in the past few years.

Give me a action movie, like Godzilla and the new Matrix 5, and I am happy! I love comedies too…

I am jealous of your beautiful weather!! Yesterday was the warmest here, we got to 25 C but I have rain, and colder weather of around 10C, for the next week. One benefit, I am not missing much while I still am stuck home recovering! When I am able to go out and roam, the nice weather will be here!

Reply
Kymber Hawke June 1, 2024 - 10:28 am

Hi, Lorrie! I know what you mean about horror. I don’t know why I like it so much. Well, I don’t enjoy slashers at all. I mostly like ghost movies and books.

My Mister likes all the Godzilla stuff. I don’t hate it at all. I find those and the Planet of the Apes movies quite fun,

I hope you get to enjoy that nice weather. 🙂
