Happy timezones, friends!
Lately, I’ve been playing around with Chatgpt, which I hadn’t tried before. When I use AI for graphics, I use Canva.
Anyway, I jumped on the bandwagon to make a caricature of myself, using my image. The program came up with this:

Then, I decided to try making a banner using the same image I’d previously uploaded to the program. It came up with this:

I liked it, so I’ve been using it as my profile and banner pics.
Next, I took it all a step further. Bee and I were working on the next chapter of “Old Stone,” when I wondered what would happen if my Sims looked like real people? Back to Chatgpt I went.
Here is the original pic from my story “Noble Doubt”:

And here is the realistic pic of my characters:

It’s been fun!

Seeing the Sims characters rendered as real people is such a cool transition for the “Noble Doubt” crew. I’m looking forward to the update this Saturday!
Wow, what a difference. AI is definitely a game changer.
So true. Thank you for stopping by.
You’re welcome, Kymber.
The pictures actually turned out quite nicely!
Thank you! I’m so glad you like them!
Looks like fun. Nice photos, my friend. 💞
Thank you so much, my friend. It’s fun, for sure and I’m glad you like the pics. 🩷🌸🦋
Love the caricature of you, as well as the realistic version, Kymber! The latter has a real dreamy quality. 💖 And great job with the characters too. 👌 This is the fun aspect of AI. 😀
Thank you, Debbie! It sure is. I’ve been having so much fun.
These pics look fantastic! AI is helpful in a lot of ways…
I’ve been playing with AI the past few months, even attended a webinar about how to use various versions. I like perplexity and copilot, which are the ones I use the most.
I’m slowly losing my ability to type (I am getting so slow) and like being able to use my voice instead. So convenient!
Thank you, Lorrie! It sure is.
You went to a webinar! That’s so cool! I haven’t tried those two, but will now.
That would definitely be convenient. I’m glad you have that.
Your avatar is eye catching
Thank you so much.
I think they look so similar to the game graphics! That is how I would imagine Blue to look in real life!
I agree 💯%! I think Blue in particular turned out really well.
Interesting, Kymber. Fun stuff!!
Thank you, Jan! 🌸🩷
I’ve never tried Chat but use Gemini and Canva a lot. Learning the right prompts to use makes it fun and you can really open image up. Have fun!!!
Thank you! Yes, that’s true. I don’t intend on using Chatgpt much because I don’t want to pay for it. lol I already pay for Canva. I’ll have to try Gemini.
I agree, the prompts are important. I use descriptors as well as hex codes to get the colors I want.
You have fun, too!
I can send you some prompts I’ve found that help if you’d like.
Sure! That would be great. Do you still have my email?
I’m sure I do, I will look.
All righty. Sounds good. 😊
This is cool
Thank you, Jo-Anne!
Have you gotten any backlash for using AI? I use it to illustrate some blog posts, but I use a cartoonish style rather than the typical “AI look,” and I’ve built a model of Buddy based off photos of him so the images depict him specifically, with his unique features, like his pronounced muzzle and the small “bib” of white fur on his chest.
I also try to use real photographs and my own photos when possible, and never ever use AI to generate text. The latter because I am a writer and my own literary voice is important to me, and the former because I’m keenly aware that a lot of people have negative reactions to “AI slop.”
They’re not wrong about that. Social media has become a wasteland of poorly made AI images and video, especially Facebook, and a lot of users don’t seem to be able to differentiate between what’s real and what’s not.
As always, I think moderation is best and I try to use AI as a tool.
Yes, I got a nasty note a couple months ago when I started using it to make my featured pictures, etc. But I don’t make a secret about it. On my copyright page, I have listed everything I can think of that I use as far as graphics go. I have everything from fonts to my color palette, my theme, etc. listed there.
Anyway, I love using Canva because it takes hex codes and I can match my featured pics and sidebar pics to my palette colors. It makes me feel nice and tidy. lol
I agree with you that it should be used in moderation as a tool.
You are so beautiful kym….nice images👌👌
Thank you so much. AI tends to make me look better than I actually do. 😀
😁😁👌👌

Very cool. I think your image is terrific.
Thank you, John.
What a fun and creative journey! 🌟 I love how you’ve combined storytelling, art, and AI in such a playful way—turning your characters and yourself into vivid, imaginative visuals. It’s inspiring to see technology used to bring stories and personalities to life so beautifully. Can’t wait to see “Old Stone” and the new chapter in action! 🎨📚✨
Thank you, Vijay! That’s kind of you. This was so much fun!
Thank you. I can’t wait for you to see “Old Stone’s” next chapter on Saturday!
Well done Kymber, I am impressed.
Thank you, Peter James. Good to see you!
Wow! Stunning images. 😍 I think I’ll do an AI optimization of myself and then convert it to a 3D printer file, climb in, and get a makeover. I’m glad I got to live during the early stages of AI visual arts. If my grandfather saw what AI can do, he’d insist on going to the doctor to get some meds to stop his hallucinations. There is now a sports car on the market that is designed entirely by AI and all the parts are 3d printed. If you have the money you can now drive science fiction to the grocery store for milk, bread, and cat food. Who’d a thunk it was possible?
Thank you! 😀 I need a makeover, too, now that you mention it. haha
That is incredible! I had no idea about the car.
My grandfather was acting a bit depressed one day and I asked him if he was okay. He told me he’d just seen himself in the mirror and it scared the hell out of him. He had just turned 100 a few days before and I guess it was starting to sink in. We had a good laugh because I told him as long as he knew it was him in the mirror, he was okay. Secretly, I’m not looking forward to that day when my reflection makes me think I’m involved in an Alien abduction. Mercifully, without my glasses, I don’t notice there is a mirror or anyone staring back at me. I think this AI car launch has the auto industry a bit nervous.
Lol your grandfather sounds like such a character. 😊
I bet you’re right about the car launch.
Grandpa was a memorable character. He was a lot of fun even when he wasn’t trying to be.
That’s how I remember my grandma. Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
I enjoy talking and hearing about fun family things, especially from our elders. My car has three AI’s all waiting for any opportunity to chat about things of interest. They all know each other because when I ask one to do something they tell me to ask one of the others instead. It’s like having family in the car.
I enjoy that, too. I was a hospice nurse and my elderly patients liked to reminisce which I loved and was also good for them.
LOLOL That sounds like fun!
You deserve a big ole cyber hug of gratitude. My grandfather had to have hospice care his last year. He had reached 103 and was well on his way to achieve 104. His hospice nurses made his last year a joy for him and family. He was always in a good mood, full of merriment when they were with him. Listening to his stories and encouraging him meant all the difference. He went peacefully in his sleep with zero drama leaving all the rest of us to wonder how he pulled that off. I think the joy the nurses gave him, made all the difference for him.
Awww… thanks. 🙂
I’m glad your grandfather and family had a good experience with hospice. That’s so sweet. What a blessing the nurses were.
There is a special place in Heaven with a view and room service reserved for nurses. My great grandmother was a nurse back when the only qualifications were be strong, of good moral character, and compassion for the sick. She learned nursing on the job. The hospital was a boarding house two blocks from her house. It’s still there after 105 years but was converted back to a small boarding house. I have a picture of my great grandmother wearing her white uniform with little black hat and the biggest smile you ever saw. I think she liked her job or as my grandfather says, she was grateful to have a job. A lot of my daughter’s friends are nurses. They were young and new during Covid and that experience forever changed them. When people talk of heroes, I think of nurses.
That is awesome. I wish I could see that picture of your great-grandmother.
I wish I was still a nurse. And I’m proud that you think so highly of nurses, too.
Next time I’m digging in the picture vault, I’ll pull it out and post it. Yes, nurses are the reason I’m still here bloviating in everyone’s comment section. I was in a military hospital for a year recovering from misadventure and an army nurse took care of me and we became let’s get better together friends. She actually looked after me for another year after I left the hospital to help me relearn how to wander around aimlessly and get into mischief. When I had fully recovered she said goodbye and left me to my new found fate. That was a very long time ago and I still remember how hard she worked to get me on my feet so I could leave the nest on my own. I wonder sometimes how deep the heart can be. Maybe after so many patients didn’t make it, she decided I was the one that would. We both have a story that includes these beings of light that surround us.
It’s so nice that the nurse took such an interest in you. I’m so glad for your full recovery, too. 🩷🌸
I think at times when we most need them, our guardian angels manifest themselves into human form and help us through those difficult times. Such a period in our life is a lesson about the healing power of compassion and a chance to gain a remarkable insight into ourselves, our faith, and the importance of benevolence. Once touched by the light you become the light and the rest of your days shine brightly.
I love how you put that. It’s so true.
The only thing left to do is make good use of the lessons learned and pass them on.
Yes, this is so true, my friend.
I’m working on a top secret project in my garage to create a pandemic of benevolence. It spreads by human contact in the form of hugs and kind words. There is no vaccine but some hearts and minds are immune. However, the majority of humans, cats, and dogs will develop benevolence after just a few hugs. Well, one might have to offer pear wine and honey buns to speed it along. 🤗🥂🥮
I like the sound of this pandemic. Thank goodness there is no vaccine.🩷🌸🌱🐝
LOL! No vaccine will put some at ease. I wonder if I can get this to spread using flowers and bees? I’ll work on that too.
Yes, it is definitely worth a try. 🌸🐝
Didn’t know Chat GPT did this. I have to say, I like the realistic Sims images better. Just me?
I tried idea after idea over two days. It had to be over two days because unless you pay for it, you can only generate about 5 pics in 24 hours. I don’t intend on paying for it.
It’s not just you. I can’t believe how close the sims are to how I picture them in my head!
Oh, I absolutely love how they all have evolved! I am really amazed how real the photo AI ones look and your pic is adorable <3 HUGS! CJ
Thank you, CJ. You are so kind. AI makes me look better than real life. haha Hugs! 💗🌺
Make up for me LOL 😂
LOL 😂🤣
This looks like fun, Kymber
Thanks, Robbie. It was fun, for sure.

We don’t understand AI at all. No clue what chatgpt is even. So we have not tried it but it looks like it would be fun to use occasionally with photos.
It’s a large language model, arguably the most advanced one, although Gemini matches or exceeds it for some tasks.
These are not true AIs, or artificial general intelligences (AGI), despite common misconceptions. They are algorithmic, not cognitive, so even though they can hold conversations, answer questions, follow relatively complex prompts and appear to be conscious, they are not.
They’re useful tools if used the right way, although I think we do have to be careful not to depend on them for our own sake, because it’s important for our own brain health and neuroplasticity to do our own thinking, writing, etc.
Thank you, BigBuddy.
It’s fun, for sure. I don’t intend on using Chatgpt that much just because you have to have a paid account to generate more than 5 images. I already pay for Canva. But it was fun to use.
How wonderful to know. I used AI to color a black and white photo out of the newspaper- and it did a marvelous job!
That’s really cool, Violet! I’ll have to try that sometime.
