Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts.
So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.
Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!
Round #75:
- What drives you to get up in the morning?
- Do you like cities or remote places better?
- What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Here are my answers:
- Max, Binx, and Josie-Pye all demanding their breakfast.
- I love visiting cities and remote places, too. But I like our little village the best.
- U2, stage side. I screamed The Edge’s name and he looked at me and winked. Well, maybe there was something in his eye, I don’t know. But let me dream. lol

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo
Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

Cities. More to do. We love going to museums.
Billy Joel and Elton John. Awesome. We also saw Rascal Flatts and Darius Rucker when he first became a country singer after being Hootie.
Hey, I thought I answered this, but there is no record of me having done so. lol
Museums are the best! We love them, too. Hey, we should visit one together sometime, the four of us. 😀
I bet those concerts were awesome!
Thank you so much for playing, Court. It’s so great to have you here.

Thank you so much for playing, Court. It’s so great to have you here.
Coffee. No coffee. The mind won’t work. Good morning my friend.
Mine either. LOL Good morning, John. It’s great to see you!
Always good to see you and read your work dear Kymber.
That’s so sweet. I feel the same way about your work, too, my friend.
[…] Get to Know #75 […]
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to read your answers!
As always I love your questions, Kymber.
1. Each day is a gift. I wake up..I am happy with that.
2. I am a city person for sure.
3. I am not a concertgoer. So no answer here. I like your response of U2.
I’m so glad you love doing these, Suzette.
I understand that and feel the same way!
Cities are cool!
Thank you. U2 is my favorite.
I hope you have a happy Sunday!💗🌺
A pleasure to join in, Kymber. Happy Sunday to you too.
Waking up to feed the animals, yes, that will definitely get you up, I miss having my dog for that reason. U2, cool! I bet they were awesome!
Hi, Carol Anne! Is it time for another dog? You don’t have to answer that if it’s too sensitive a subject. U2 was beyond awesome! Happy Sunday!
Fun questions. Yes, those kittens will sure let you know when to get up! Here are my answers: https://wp.me/p3RE1e-nGh
Thank you. Sooo true! lol Can’t wait to read your answers!

Thank you. Melissa! I can’t wait to read your answers!
More good ones! 😀
1) My husband drives me to get up in the morning by nudging me awake. He’s an early riser, while Zoey (our dog) and I like to sleep in. 😆
2) Bright lights, big city for me! Lots to see and do. 🏙️
3) Can I say all of them? 😆 I’m a concert junkie, but if I had to choose one, it would be Metallica, for the sheer excitement and spectacle of it all. 💥🔥🤘
I’m the early riser in our house. Zoey is such a darling name for a dog.
It’s fun to have all the options a city offers.
Metallica would be awesome to see! I bet that was fun!
Thank you so much for playing. Happy Weekend!
The smell of coffee is what drives me to get up in the morning.
I love to visit big cities, but prefer to live in remote places.
The best concert I saw was Paul McCartney and Wings in Miami. Also, the best Broadway production I saw was “Cats” in London.
I love that smell, too.
Me, too. 😀
I bet Paul McCartney was awesome! I have seen other incredible productions, but never “Cats.” I think that would be amazing!
Thanks for playing! Happy Friday!
I don’t know if the production is still showing, but it’s worth seeing. The cast, dressed like cats, mingle with the audience. It’s fabulous!
That sounds amazing! Musicals are the best!
Great questions
Thank you so much! It’s good to see you!
Honestly, most days what truly drives me to get up is my bladder. From there, I’m thankful for lights and running water!
I’ve always liked cities, but haven’t lived in a big one in around 40 years. I still like the idea of exploring a big city, but likely I won’t do it. I live in a small city, and I’m at home here. Driving still sucks, but not as hard as in big cities.
I can’t decide about the best concert; maybe a toss-up between Heart and Trans-Siberian Orchestra? Or maybe Arlo Guthrie instead of Heart. No, definitely Heart, though Arlo was really awesome. And TSO is so very fantastic. And if I see them again, I’ll have to visit a big city!
LOLOL If I’m being honest, although it didn’t occur to me, the bladder gets me up, too.
Hey, that’s a great win-win if you see TSO again! So cool! I bet Heart was fantastic!
Thanks for playing! Happy Friday!
Heart was so excellent. It was in their early days of popularity, so it was all them, if that makes sense. So wonderful!
It makes sense, for sure. I’m glad you saw them.
I can answer one and two, except number three.🤭 Mine would be morning tasks and exercise and my little village, too.
That’s awesome, Hazel! Exercise feels so good in the morning.
Thanks for playing! Happy Friday!

Thank you, Maggie! I can’t wait to read your answers!
Coffee gets me up in the morning! I hurry and get my shower so I can get a cup. 🙂 Remote places win out over cities for me and the best concert I ever attended was Charlie Daniels in 1982. It was a Vietnam tribute.
Woot to a morning with coffee!
Oh, I bet that was an amazing concert!
Thanks for playing! Happy Friday!
ooh this is a great one! i’ll answer them on my blog and tag you 😀
Cool Rojie! Pingbacks haven’t been working real well, so I’m glad you’ll tag me.
These were fun questions to answer, especially the concerts. I would have loved to see U2 I was a big fan of them in the 80s.
Hola Kym!
What drives you to get up in the morning?
The smell of coffee that my husband is making, interesting plans for the day…I love my work (teaching and writing). And Miss Fluff, of course.
Do you like cities or remote places better?
remote places but with enough commodities. Taos, for example 🙂
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? Not sure anyone here will recognize him, but Carlos Varela in Cuba, in my youth.
Hola, my friend!
Those are terrific reasons to get up in the morning! It’s nice your husband makes coffee.
I hear you on that!
I don’t know him, but I’m sure it was spectacular!
Thanks for playing! Happy Friday!
Happy Thursday Kymber!

Thank you, Di! I’m excited to read your answers!
You’re welcome. How are you doing?
I’m posting something about this tomorrow, but I just got out of the hospital again. They found out the valve is leaking again even though it is brand new. Fun times. LOL But I’m feeling fine. Thank you for asking. xo
Thinking of you Kymber. Take care.
Thank you, Di. I appreciate it.
You’re welcome.
My cats and dogs are my reasons to get out of bed.
I don’t like cities at all. I prefer rural (I live in a small, rural town), but not remote. If I have to go remote, I expect running water (plus hot water), electricity, a house (not tent or trailer or camper), and indoor bathroom.
Best concert for overall, visceral entertainment: Motley Crue – Girls, Girls, Girls – floor seat and 9 rows from the stage – Tommy Lee did the drum solo in the twirling cage. Best concert for sit back and savor the music: Kenny Rogers with the Righteous Brothers.
Yes, I totally understand that.
I know what you mean about remote being too remote. lol I agree with that.
That must have been some concert! And savoring the music with Kenny Rogers and Righteous Brothers would be great, too.
Thank you for playing! Happy Friday!
They are good reason’s to get up
I know that’s right! Thank you, Jo-Anne!
Hi Kymber! Here are mine…
What drives you to get up in the morning?
If I’m at the beach, a surf check. If good waves, I’m up and out 😎 Otherwise, the smell of coffee. Bacon…I’m up in 2 min!
Do you like cities or remote places better?
Remote. I found a mining ghost town in Montana once and spent the whole day poking around. Could almost hear a saloon piano and the clip clop of hooves 🙂
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Eagles and Linda Ronstadt. Close second, Paul McCartney.
Hi, Darryl! I hope you’re having a great Thursday!
Those seem like good reasons to get up, for sure!
That mining town sounds so cool!
All wonderful artists. Great choices!
Thank you so much for playing!
1) Insomnia and a need for coffee.
2) Cities when I was younger. Remote now I am older. I like the quiet.
3) Mark Knopfler
Happy Thursday Kymber
Allan
Coffee, for sure!
I don’t blame you there.
Nice! I bet it was great!
Thank you so much for playing! Happy Thursday!
What drives you to get up in the morning? Twiggy and Tempeste (my dogs) get me up.
Do you like cities or remote places better? Both are fine with me as long as there is wine available
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? Elvis Presley in person
Twiggy and Tempeste are a great reason to get up, too, I’d say.
Yes to the wine! lol
Elvis!! If only… I bet it was fantastic!
Thank you for playing! Happy Thursday!
My first answer is similar to yours.
What drives you to get up in the morning? Rollo our dog gets me up and if not I may just sleep in. That’s because I am retired. Well I took early retirement.
Do you like cities or remote places better? I’ve lived in cities since my 20’s but I grew up on the north Swedish country side and prefer the quiet and the nature and the forests in the country side. However, I have to admit that I am a bit weary of the people living in the American countryside. They seem different from Swedish country folks. But I could be wrong.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? I think the one with Yngwe Malmsteen, a Swedish guitarist and bandleader. Lita Ford was the foreband.
BTW I am subscribed to your blog but I don’t get any email. That is why I often answer these questions on other people’s posts when they answer your questions. I found this one via the reader but I use the reader maybe once a month at the most. I look at my emails to see people’s posts.
I can see how that is very similar, Thomas.
That’s interesting, comparing the Swedish countryside with the American. Makes me want to broaden my horizens.
That concert sounds lovely.
Thank you for playing!
I wonder why you’re not getting email? I hope either I find out why and remedy the issue or it straightens itself out. Thank you for letting me know.
Hi, Kymber!
Here’s my entry!

city
ruuush!
Love your answers! I’ve never seen Rush live, which is a regret. Thank you so much for playing! Happy Thursday!
What drives you to get up in the morning? Hubby, the kitties and COFFEE
Do you like cities or remote places better? I avoid the big cities. I love the remote places far better and we live in a remote little town
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? I’ve never been to a concert. To many people. See question #2
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, my friend. Love and healing hugs. ♥
Yes, how could I forget hubby and coffee?
Too many people can be too much, it’s true.
Enjoy your Thursday, my friend. Love and hugs to you, too 💗🌺
If I am feeling alert, that is enough for me to get up. Even when I am not working. But when the weather gets nicer and so lighter mornings, that is known to get me up.
I like being in nature. So, give me a park or some place of greenery. I like the beach too. But I don’t have a beach that is walking distance to ho to. So, the above it is.
It was a concert. But not on the scale as a concert that you probably expecting me to answer. This concert was at a local theatre. I watched Steve Steinman with Vampires Rock. I have watched him a few times. But it’s a long time ago since I last watched him.
Parks are nice places to just listen to nature and people-watch, too.
I bet that was a great concert!
Thank you so much for playing! Happy Thursday!
Yes and with watching him a few times I seen how he changed it to make it even more enjoyable and a little unpredictable.
That’s so cool. 😀
I got right to it https://malhammagna.com/2026/01/29/get-to-know-you-75/
You sure did! I can’t wait to read your answers!
SEVENTY FIVE-! WOW—WHAT A SERIES!
It’s been going on a while, hasn’t it? LOL I guess I’m just nosey. haha
FOLKS MUST LOVE IT.
I sure hope so. 💗🌺

Thank you for sharing, Jonathan!
Great questions and answers. Here are mine:
My cats Lexi and Zafi demand to be fed so I have no choice
A bit of both.
Bryan Adams. My favourite song ever is Run to You and it was amazing to get to finally see him in concert a few years ago.
Bryan Adams!! Yes!! I’ve seen him several times, and he is such a good showman. My favorite sone is, “You’re Still Beautiful to Me.”
I’ll go with your interpretation of the wink!
Thank you. That makes me happy! 😀
Kymber, such lovely answers and it’s great that you are happiest in your village – as it should be! I like both cities and remote areas but the former only for a day or two then I’m longing for the nature and its serenity. The moors and west cost of Sweden are my favourite places, I think. How sweet to be awoken by your two cats. yeah, I’ sure that was a wink! One of my best concerts was Paul Simon who I saw in Germany and then one of the worst by Art Garfunkel who was in Stockholm.
Thank you, Annika! Sweden sounds absolutely lovely! Isn’t it strange that Garfunkel’s concert was so bad in comparison?
Thank you for playing! Happy Thursday!
What drives you to get up in the morning?
My one-eyed, head case of a cat, Mercy. I say that because I had to hire a professional to help figure out why she won’t eat. LOL! When she’s hungry, she’s relentless.
Do you like cities or remote places better?
I’ve lived in smaller towns all of my life, and I get anxious in bigger, metropolitan areas. I’ve visited NYC, Tampa, and Portland, OR, and I much prefer my beachside paradise of about 100k people.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Hubby and I saw Michael Flatley in Feet Of Flames in Portland about 25 years ago. He was larger than life on that stage. I’ll never forget the set, the music, the story, and the joy of being there. What a thrill!
I wish Mercy all the best, Wendy. 💗🌺
That sounds like a lovely place to live.
That definitely sounds like a thrill!
Thank you for playing! Happy Thursday!
Here is what our responses are:
What drives you to get up in the morning? Knowing we will be going for a walk as soon as Mom is dressed and ready to go. We walk 365 mornings and evenings a year, and it is the best way to start the day in our opinion.
Do you like cities or remote places better? Remote places. Cities are so packed and often dirty. Suburbs or something further out is more fun.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to? We make our own music at home howling but Mom went to see the Beach Boys in college and said it was so much fun and totally crazy as there were always beach balls in the air being hit around.
I agree. That sounds like the perfect way to begin and end the day.
The beach boys sound like great fun! I hope I get to hear you sing someday! 💗🌺
Thank you so much for playing. Happy Thursday!
My PC 😅
I like both, but I prefer areas with more nature and less city noise.
Linkin Park (r.i.p. Chester), I was very happy to have been able to attend this concert.
What great answers! That must’ve been an incredible concert.
Thank you so much for playing. Happy Thursday! 💗🌺
