Here are my answers:
Texting
I enjoy both, but I like takeout and a movie better.
Both as it depends on what it is. My writing: acknowledgment; Most other things: anonymity. I don’t need a pat on my back, so when I do little good things here and there, I don’t want anyone to know it was me.
And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Our answers are the same. I like a nice dinner out occasionally, but curling up on my couch with dinner and a movie is my preference. And texting – ask if I’m available if they’d like to talk because I’m usually at work or in the middle of something with writing. I couldn’t have said it better about acknowledgement or anonymity.
Thank you, Teri. Our answers are similar a lot of the time. Girl, I read your “The Power of Three” book and I didn’t want it to end! It was so good. I am hoping to review it soon.
Thank you for sharing!!.. as for #1, whatever works at the time, for #2 easy listening music, my Kindle with a good story and a cup of tea, for #3 I am not trying to draw attention to me but share thoughts, ideas and memories with others but I am not trying to hide either… 🙂

Texting.
Both. Dinner and a movie is great; whether it’s a meal out or takeout/delivery and streaming, doesn’t really matter to me.
I’m much more recognition-driven than I used to be, but some of that is having been in situations where others have taken credit for things that were my ideas. I don’t take credit for things I didn’t do, and I give credit where credit is due, and I expect the same of others.
Hi Kymber, I also prefer texting. In fact, I hate phone calls. TC likes fancy restaurants so I go. I prefer cooking at home. I also like recognition for writing, art, and work performance. If you work hard at things, it’s nice to get feedback and be part of a community of like minded people.

1. Depends on the conversation. For surface exchanges, I’d rather text. But with in-depth conversations, I’d rather call.
2. I like the occasional nice dinner out. But I’m more comfortable with takeout and a movie.
3. Acknowledgement. If it’s about my writing, it’ll make me glow for days. If it’s about something I’ve done, I appreciate the effort that another person took to thank me.

Same here. In fact the other night, my son didn’t answer any of my texts. So I sent him another to the effect of, “I’m calling an ambulance because I think something has happened to you.” In less than a minute, he called me. LOL

Calling or texting? – Texting, but lately I also really crave phone calls. I’m not great at exiting them before they get tedious, which is why I default to text.
Fancy dinner or takeout and a movie? Fancy dinner, because I do it so seldom.
Acknowledgement or anonymity? I’d answer similar for this one. It really depends. I like doing things secretly, but there have been times it was the wrong call.

I’ve been at a fancy restaurant on the phone and texting at the same time while dying of embarrassment trying to be inconspicuous … Ohhh, has your phone gone OFF at the movies yet (Kill me NOW) !!?
Calling or texting? I like calling better. My thumbs are just not small enough to do a cogent interchange.
Fancy dinner or takeout and a movie? I do like both but since covid I have succumbed to the joys of eating in my PJs
Acknowledgement or anonymity? Give me acknowledgement every time. When someone says they like my story I’m all goose bumpy. Acknowledgement keeps me going.

Calling or texting? Texting. I’m hard of hearing, so I abhor chatting on phones, especially on today’s smartphones.
Fancy dinner or takeout and a movie? Takeout and a movie. Fancy dinners are too pricey.
Acknowledgement or anonymity? In the writing world, at least? Acknowledgment. I wouldn’t publish blog posts, novellas, or novels under my own name if I wanted anonymity. Otherwise….
I agree with you, texting is better for me. I’ve never liked talking on the phone.
Once in awhile it’s nice to go to a sit down restaurant, but we haven’t been since before the pandemic. We get take out all the time, and watch TV. Suits us fine.
I am happy when people like my writing, and if I do other things I don’t need anyone to praise me for it, I just do thing because I want to.
Greta questions and answers, Kymber. For me- talking comes first, then emailing, then texting – though I still plod through all the words and with no shortcuts, so the younger memebers of my family roll their eyes!! LOL Meals out are fun ( as long as no one is ‘phubbing – eyes fixed on mobs and ignoring all around them!) See, I’m OLD!! 🤣🤣🤣. Anonymity ever time – so embarrassing to be put into the limelight – and not needed … unless… unless it’s about my books – then I can shout it from the rooftops that I’m still here and writing. Like you, it depends what it is. Writing – it’s good to get acknowledgement, but I’m happy to stay in the background for other things.
1) I prefer calling to texting, because my arthritic fingers have a hard time with that tiny keyboard. Better now, since I synced the phone with the laptop. 👍 Good thing, since phone calls seem to have fallen out of favour. 😆
2) Both. Fancy dinners out have become an occasional luxury, though, since restaurant prices have skyrocketed. Takeout is something we do more frequently.
3) I agree with your answer. We all have our public online identities and it’s nice to be acknowledged for our creative efforts. Private good works are done from the heart and don’t need recognition.
These are good questions. I’ll give it my best shot:
Honestly, most of the time, neither. I would rather email. But, if instant communication is necessary, I prefer texting of calling, which has changed over time. I much prefer in person conversation, though, to any of the above.
Fancy dinners are nice, maybe once a year, for special occasions. In general, I prefer takeout and a movie. Or maybe a movie at one of those movie grill places.
While acknowledgment makes my ego feel all warm and fuzzy, most of the time I prefer anonymity. Like you said, I don’t need a pat on the back for my “good deeds.” It gives me joy to see some one say, publicly, “this need was met,” without saying that we were the ones who contributed. It’s even more fun if I can do it without the person in need knowing it was me.
I agree with you about speaking to people in person. I’m always worried when I text that since the recipient cannot hear my tone of voice, they might take it the wrong way.
I think of fancy dinners for an anniversary or something, like you. I love going to the theater, so I agree with you totally.
Great answers Kymber. I love this series you “Getting to know”. Take is out and a movie for me too… although the cost of takeout…yikes has gone up markedly.
