For the first time this year, I am caught up with the Goodreads 2023 reading challenge! Cue the fireworks!! lol I started this challenge 26 books behind, I think it was, because I didn’t start it in January when it began.
Let’s hope I can stay on track now! 😀
Incidentally, if you’re ever wondering what book I’m reading or where I am in the Goodreads challenge, you can find it in the sidebar. It looks like this:
Cesare the Cat holds it up for me. LOL 😀
I’m still reading a lot of Elizabeth Peters. Having finished the Jacqueline Kirby series now, I worried about starting the Amelia Peabody books since I would not be able to finish them in October, but I’m glad I did. I like them so much. I’ve read 5/20 of them. I look forward to returning to them in November.
I really love the “Witches of Palmetto Point” series!
The Mister and I are reading this together. 🙂
I hope to follow my plans for October as outlined in this post:
I would also like to add the “Witches of Palmetto Point Series” by Wendy Wang since I’ve read 3 of them and am in the middle of the 4th one. So far, there are 13 in the series.
In other news, I’m looking forward to some holiday reading after October comes to a close!
The Serpent Queen – Season 1 | Ahsoka – Season 1 | Only Murders in the Building – Season 3 |
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Season 1 | The Wheel of Time – Season 2 | American Horror Story: Delicate – Season 12 |
Jamestown – Season 1 | Marie Antoinette – Season 1 | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – S2.E9 ∙ Subspace Rhapsody (re-watched several times; if you know, you know lol) |
The Nun II |
I wanted to see A Haunting in Venice as I’m a sucker for all things Poirot, but I never got to it. I’ll catch it when it begins streaming.
What did you read in September, and what was your favorite?
What did you watch and what did you think about it?
Well, that’s about it for September!
Thank you for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting. I appreciate you!

Wow, there are certainly lots of Elizabeth Peters books here. I’ll have to check her out. I finished two big duologies with Seven Mercies and Crooked Kingdom. I also read World War Z by Max Brooks although maybe I should’ve waited for October for that as a zombie book would’ve been the perfect creepy read.
I’m sorry I missed your comment. I love hearing from you. xo
I love Elizabeth Peters. The books are old, but the stories are fun. Wow! How was World War Z?
YAY Kymber! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I applaud you girlfriend. That is so impressive. I am no where near the numbers you have reached on Goodreads. Bravo!!! 📕📚📗
Awwww… thanks so much, chickiepotpie. 🤍🌻🌺 I’m a bit competitive, I guess. LOL
Competitive in a good, productive, and positive way Kymber. I love that about you! 🥰💞😘💖😍
Awwww… thank you so much. xoxo
Awwww, and you are welcome so much my ChickiePotPie! 😘💖🤗 Muah!
🤍😺🌺🌻
I think you will definitely stay on track!!! You are amazing.
Awww that’s so nice. I’m looking forward to slowing down a bit. 😀
And kicking it up a notch because my reading for the last few months is terrible!
It helps that I’m retired. Someone once commented I must be retired or in prison. I laughed so hard, I had to explain to the Mister why I was cackling. 😛
Not prison! LOLOLOLOLOL
That is a mess!
Hahahahahaha I thought it was soooo funny! lol 😂🤣
I never would have thought prison, he’s very creative for that. LOL!
LOL I agree! 😀
Hi Kymber, I see you’ve now linked your gravatar to your blog which is great. I can’t list all the books I read in a month but I’m currently reading a Journal of a plague year, Ever so gently and Mae Clair’s new Harbour Pointe book.
Whew! I’m glad that is showing up right for a change. LOL
It’s great to see you!
I keep track of my reads on Goodreads, otherwise, I wouldn’t remember them. lol I think what you’re reading sounds so good! I’ve really been looking forward to the Harbour Pointe books.
Looks like a great month of reading, Kymber. My goodness, you gulp down a lot of books. I noticed all the Elizabeth Peters titles, and I’m glad you’re enjoying them. Happy October reading!
Thank you so much, Diana. I listened to a few audio books that were shorter, and a YA book by Lois Duncan that seemed shorter, too. I loved her when I was in middle school. 🙂
Elizabeth Peters has me hooked! LOL
Happy October Reading to you, too. 🤍🌻🌺
🙂
I envy you both! I wish I read as prodigiously! Midnight Mass looks right up my alley! Thanks for making me aware of it, Kymber!
You’re welcome, Sean! 🙂 We like it so far.
Great month of great articles and your supporting. Blessings continues.
Thank you so much, my friend. Blessings to you.
Yes your are my friend !Thanks for support reading your work even your old site!
Thank you so much, my friend. You’re encouragement means a lot to me.
This week is Canada’s Thanksgiving weekend!big celebration with family
That’s lovely! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks
You’re welcome. 🙂
I’ve spent most of my time right here blogging I lose count of the posts I’ve read all the way through! I’ve two books waiting in the wings–one is Cindy G.’s and the other by John Piper, I think. Plus the Bible. Talk about being an avid reader, Kymber!!!!!
I love your content because you always find such interesting things and your poetry is top-notch. 😀
The books I have waiting for me won’t fit in the wings anymore. LOLOL But the ones you have look really good! And of course, reading the Bible is always time well spent.
THANK YOU. I’ll try to keep up the good work! 😀
Wow, you’ve done well! I’ve only managed about 15 so far this year.
Thank you, Stevie. 🙂 15 is good and nothing to sneeze at. I don’t know why I pledged to read 100 this year. It’s been a workout for my brain. LOL
I hope I can read more now I’m more or less retired.
It makes a difference, that is for sure.
That is so impressive. I read 4-5 books per month. Sometimes I read factual books that are a bit heavy but I could never read 24. I’ve never tried Goodreads reading challenge.
Thank you, Thomas. This is the first Goodreads Challenge I’m determined to finish. LOL I can safely slow down now that I’m caught up. 🙂
I think 4 to 5 books a month is very good.
I second this.
LOL Thank you, Jen. 😀
You read a lot of Elizabeth Peters! I didn’t watch any shows in September (too busy), but maybe October!
Thank you so much, Vera. I read a lot of Elizabeth Peters last month, too. They just hit me the right way, I guess. LOL
October is a fun time to watch TV. 😀
Good for you! I have been at a crawling, snail’s pace, but I really do want to get back into reading more.
Thank you. 🙂 I feel like now that I’m on better track in the reading challenge, I don’t have to be such an overachiever. lol 😀
Read because you want to.
You are right, of course. 🙂 🤍🌻🌺
I just started Dracula which I’m so geeked about even though I read it every October. I had to start it today, I couldn’t wait. lol Anyway, it’s a book to take your time with. 🙂
Have you ever gotten into Anne Rice’s vampire books? I like them the best.
That’s a good question, GP. I read them in the late 90s and remember liking them. Ann Rice had a flowery way of writing so those books took me a little bit of time to get through, if that makes sense.
I have a hard time getting past more than one chapter at a time. I do love to read! Kudos to Kymber Hawke for her prolific reading!
Agreed!
Thank you, Jen. You are so kind. 🙂 I’m a bit of an overachiever. Once I saw how far behind I was on the Goodreads reading challenge, I went into overdrive. lol I’m looking forward to more leisurely reading now that I’m caught up.
I have read nothing, as usual. But, we have watched, Inspector George Gently, Only Murders in the Building, Granchester, Billions and Succession. We finished Endevour a while ago but plan on watching it again. The British police shows are excellent.
Oh, yes, I agree with you on the British police shows. I’m sure the Mister would enjoy them, too.
Only Murders in the Building is a show we really enjoy. The musical is a lot of fun. 😀
These are always such fun to see. I love seeing what people have read and watched. I really oughta start doing these.
Thank you so much, Nise. Making these posts also helps me keep track of what I’ve read and what I want to read. I’m feeling overwhelmed about my TBR, so organizing things even just a little bit tends to help.
Congratulations on the catch up
Thank you so much, John. I think I can take it easy now. lol
Yeah put your feet up. 😁
Now that is a great idea! 😂🤣
😊
Wow!
Hi, there, Claudia! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting! 🤍🌻🌺
