Author’s Note: Hello, Friends! Do you remember a time, not long ago, when Holden and Julie walked into the brownstone? They had clearly interrupted something that was going on with Chris and Rosetta.
I received a message asking me what that was all about. I had intended to answer that in one of Holden’s chapters, but the poor guy is going through so much, I doubt he would even remember that deer in the headlights thing going on.
So, as part of a bonus post, we find out once and for all!
Just as Chris was getting up the nerve to profess his undying love for Rosetta, an unexpected thing happened.
The poor guy told her a really lame joke. He’d hoped it would be an ice breaker.
Rosetta didn’t have a clue and she was not the type to laugh at a bad joke. It it wasn’t funny, what was the point?
They fell into an awkward silence. Luckily for Chris, Holden was home and he could save face by joking with someone who understood his sense of humor.
Maybe next time, Chris!
