Is It Really Me?

I’d wanted to play with an AI image creator, but instead, I thought, what if I used AI enhancement to get the blurs off this old picture?

So, I gave it a go.

I mean, it looks like me in the picture. But my skin is so… smooth. What’s missing?

My skin is really much paler; I burn, I don’t tan. Also, in real life, there is a smattering of freckles across my nose and cheeks.

You can’t see the blue of my eyes, but you couldn’t see them before either. So I guess that’s okay.

Wait a minute… is that an elf ear I’m sporting? Oh, if that were only true, I’d be on top of the world! lol

Happy timezones, good friends!

NOTE ABOUT OLD STONE: I am still not ready to post the next chapter. The laptop I’m using doesn’t like The Sims 3, so I’ll keep working on it, but you can’t squeeze blood from a turnip.

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. That is the picture I couldn’t find. I am also a painter therefore I like to take a look at all beautiful pictures. When I studied I specialized to paint and draw women. Women are very challenging to draw and paint but they are also really beautiful since they have so soft figures. I see that you have clearly a talent for visual arts too. What about music. do you have a talent for that too?

  2. A curious experiment that you’ve done with AI. And curious that AI took away your freckles. As a fellow redhead (with advancing gray hairs!), I also have freckles and I wouldn’t want them taken away. Leave the freckles alone, AI!

  3. Looks like a good result, but you are right Kymber, AI can simplify the details. Maybe I should try that to remove a few wrinkles. 😜Happy Monday. Allan

  4. Overall, that pic looks pretty good. You noticed some of the issues with AI though. It over-simplifies skin tones and can give a plastic-y look to skin for starters. Your pic turned out much better than some I’ve seen, lol. Eyes turned out great. 🙂 Again, I’ve seen AI do some REALLY freaky things there. You got good hair texture out of it also, so I’d call that a win all around, even with the AI’ed hairline making it look like you had elf ears. 😀

    1. LOL Thank you so much. That is encouraging to know. That’s exactly how I would describe the skin: plastic. lol

I’ll take your advice and call it a win, though. 🙂

  5. I have a glitch regarding your blog, I can’t subscribe to it, so if you got notifications of me subscribing over and over again it’s because of that. I’ll subscribe with my email and keep in touch with your writings that way. 🙂

  6. What AI did you use? It really has a mind of its own 😆 you are ✨ glowing ✨ haha 🤣…your hair looks so silky! If only I could get mine to look like that IRL lol 💕

    1. LOL I used Fotor. I couldn’t find one that let you just play around for free unless I wanted to do a free-trial.

IKR? LOL My hair is so brassy, too! 😀 😀 I haven’t the skills to get it to look this way in r/l. LOL🌺🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

      1. Hey, I know it’s weird of me to suddenly comment, but I was looking to play around some time ago too and can recommend two with no free trial: NightCafe Studio (you get a lot of currency for tries just by logging in) and Canva (type in canva ai image generator) – by creating an account you get 200 tries. The prompts are tricky to get right (like man blond hair woman brown and you still get two blonds but less often than brown haired woman) but if you like something you can repeatedly click on the three dots under pic to show more like that. I have now used up Canva on my two accounts and have tons of AI Britt/Clint saved I never showed anyone 😆 Hope this helps you play around more freely!

        1. Jowiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiita! I have missed you so much! 😀

You know what’s funny? I have Canva! LOLOL I could have used that!

Thank you for telling me where I could fiddle with AI.

I’m so pleased you stopped by and told me about this, gf.

Wishing you a happy week ahead! 🌺

          1. It’s good to see you still posting, Kymber! I keep silently looking and I eden wrote a little B&C like three months ago but I wasn’t sure if I want it up. It feels weird to keep up this little project on the NDIA blog and not decide where and if I want it to go further. But now I have a ton of late night conversations with AI to enrich it even if I don’t post at all lol
I do have Canva too and I never knew about this option till I started looking into AI and found it there. That’s why I said your should google for it because I’m not sure how to access it from there. The interface is confusing to me.
            Happy week to you too!

            1. They just changed the interface, which doesn’t help. It doesn’t feel too intuitive at the moment. It will take some getting used to.

I’m writing a story called “Old Stone” which I enjoy very much but right now my laptop doesn’t like TS3, so it’s been a rocky road.

I’ve thought about you often, and am hoping everything is going well for you. xo

            2. You’re right, though I never found Canva much intuitive. I’ve used it for presentations at uni before.
I’ve seen Old Stone fragments. Never properly read it from beginning to end. I remember LWR. This one’s discontinued, I gather?
I’m fine, starting my 5th year of my psychology in October, also my last. My brother is on the job hunt, he has had a master degree in mechanical science for two weeks. I still have my Thomas and also a neighbor’s cat. I have her, Bestia (Beast), on my chest as I’m writing this. She’s very cuddly. We had two cats that started hanging around that are our neighbors’, but the other one (Piękna/ Beauty) got lost end of July and never came back.
I’ve heard about Cesare and I am so very sorry. He always was so tightly connected to this blog from the very beginning. I’m sure he’s happy editing literary works on the other side of the rainbow bridge. I hope otherwise you, Katy and the Littles are all well.

            3. Yes, and Canva has changed again and I don’t know where anything is. LOL

LWR is on the laptop that had a meltdown, so I don’t think I can finish it. I’m still hoping Old Stone can continue. Right now, I’m on a laptop that does not like Sims 3 whatsoever. lol

5th and final year! That is awesome! I’m so proud of you! I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Good luck to your brother. And congratulations to him as well.

Awww Bestia sounds so sweet. I love cuddly kittens. And I’m glad Thomas is well. I’m sorry about Piękna. I hope she is okay.

Thank you about Cesare. It’s still quite painful, but I believe you are right. Perhaps he’s risen up to a title higher than Chief of Cheesy Writing. 🌺🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

Katy and the Littles are good. 😀

Do you still listen to Marina? 🙂

              Talk soon. xoxo

            4. I’m sorry that you’re having laptop issues. I know some people prefer to build their own gaming PC’s instead of using laptops as the laptops can easily get overwhelmed with the game. I can’t even install TS3 on Mac now as my games on the EA app are not available, they only for Windows. Macs now only run 64-bit programs so I wouldn’t even be able to play. I hope you are able to bring back Old Stone!
Thank you. I too hope it will all go well.
I think Piękna won’t come back sadly. She was my dad’s favorite cat. He called her Nono after the vaccum cleaner from Teletubbies cause she was such a foodie lol.
Aw yeah, I loved seeing Cesare on your blog. I think he’s in peace now.
I listen to her occasionally but not as much. I was pretty disappointed in her latest music. It’s not the same anymore.

            5. I had a gaming laptop which loaded sims 3 in under 2 mins and I loved it, but it broke. My old laptop will play it, but the loading time is ridiculous, and on this laptop, well… it just says, “Nope.” lol My son also suggested building a gaming pc.

I have so much in Old Stone I want to do yet. I will get it back no matter what. LOL

Your dad is so sweet with her nickname and how Piękna was his favorite.

I have two kittens who are so big now and Josie-Pye featured here now, too. But there will never be another Cesare.

I’m sorry to hear that. I know her music meant a lot to you when you were younger.

Do you think you will ever come back with more stories?

              Happy timezones. 🙂

            6. Aw, I hope you can get TS3 running. This blog has its roots in simlit and I am so glad to see you still write it. I will always have a soft spot for this genre. I began writing simlit, I think, in 2012 or so; I was just a kid but it was such a passion project always. It’s amazing that your laptop could run TS3 in such a short time. The game is known for its absolutely ridiculous loading times! I still have my old laptop from when I wrote my story. I think it could run TS3 but would probably be very slow. Anyway, it’s unused now after my brother got another one and stopped using my old one. I truly hope you get it sorted, the game is a pain in the butt, but we love it so much.
Yes, my dad has always been a dog person and it was surprising and sweet to see him have such a soft spot for a cat. It’s a shame she is lost. He said that the best cat had to go. No one in our family liked her as much as he did. Obviously, my mom, brother and I will always love Thomas the most as he is truly ours and we have had since he was a kitten in 2019. Sadly, he’s struggling with dental issues (lymphocytic plasmacytic stomatitis), but we put him on antibiotics twice, this year and last year, and it helped a lot. In the future he will probably need to have his teeth removed, as that’s usually the treatment.
I’m glad you still have other cats. I love cats so much and think they really brighten our lives.
It’s a common opinion shared by many fans that she seems to have lost her spark and doesn’t write lyrics that well anymore.
I haven’t made up my mind about stories. It’s not a hard no, but I think I would struggle with writing more than just short pieces without Sims. The game inspired me in many ways and helped picture things better. I have, however, many times thought about the B&C story and how it would translate. I think I could potentially write it as a proper story (especially because the characters are quite alive in my head after so many thought I gave them since the NDIA finale), but it would need work on my part. I’m rusty in my storytelling since I barely write anymore. Like I said, I did write another B&C in June, I think, and I held off posting it. It feels weird to me to still post it on my old site, especially since it was supposed to be only a couple short pieces. If you go into posts on my site, the epilogue is now the last one on the first page. If I were to post another B&C, it would completely cover up all of my simlit. So I am unsure about posting it anymore without giving it a proper site and proper story. It is not even a storyline and there are so many parts. If I were to turn it into an actual story, I would have to decide what to do about these and how to even incorporate them. I don’t really know what to do with it. The other question, would anyone even stick around to read any of my writing? Barely anyone is left of our old community, and I don’t even know how eager everyone would be to read non-simlit. Last post I did I think only Doris and socallucyfan commented, and the latter only because she was active for a couple months then. I feel like close to no one’s really tuning in anymore since it’s been so long and everyone moved on from my blog or simlit in general. Not as easy as it was when I started my blog, the TS3 site was still alive and my writing was grounded in the game. And not going to lie, writing without pictures would put a lot more focus on my writing in general, and I don’t know if I can handle it. I am not sure if it can hold up on its own. I feel like now I am older, it seems all the more stressful to put myself out there and handle the responsibility that comes with running a site, being consistent and developing plot.

So you see, it’s a difficult decision now with a lot of variables.
              Happy timezones to you!

            7. Happy timezones!

I’m so sorry for the late reply, Jowita. I haven’t been home much the past few days. Our Oldest Little is 5 now and she is in Cheerleading, so we go to all her games. lol They are so adorable.

My roots are definitely in SimLit, as you said. And I’m so excited about Old Stone right now. I think I’ll always have a soft spot for this genre, too.

Yeah, it was a gaming laptop and my son picked it out for me so that it would play TS3. And it played it really well. I miss that laptop. My son said it’s time to build a gaming PC now. lol So much like what you’ve said.

I agree with you. I love it so much, I’m not ready to let it go yet.

I see what you mean about writing some more, and I’m glad it’s not a hard no. I think you should do whatever delights you. I know I’ll be first in line to read whatever it is you write. It’s true that most of the simmers that used to read us have moved on to places like Tummblr. I have a Simblr, but I don’t use it much. I don’t like how it’s arranged for storytelling, and I have worked so hard on this site, I’m not keen to move.

Cats are the best! 😀 🌺🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

Oh, I see what you mean about Marina. It’s too bad that happened.

It’s a lot of responsibility, for sure. And now that I’m doing poetry and things, too, it’s hard to post every Saturday since we’re gone a lot of weekends, too. But I so want to tell the stories that are building up there.

The variables are many and a lot of them are new now that you’re older. I encourage you to do whatever it is that will make you happiest.

  7. Ha ha that looks like an elf ear. Your eyes may be exactly blue in the picture but you can see that it is blue eyes and not brown. Brown eyes are much darker. Well at least they are not bright red like half the photos of me further back in time.

  8. We were talking about this at work yesterday, since a manager’s photo looked like him, but not quite him. It’s a pretty photo in any event, with a lovely smile! That’s likely yours!

  9. I had no idea one could use AI to re-touch photographs. We are living in an odd time, when so many of our cultural and historical artifacts are so easily changed/manipulated/re-written…
