  1. What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had?
  2. What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid?
  3. If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring?

Here are my answers:

  1. I once had a faux-hawk. Ah, the things we do in our youth. LOL I actually don’t mind the cut, but it wouldn’t look right on me these days. lol
  2. I collected miniatures for my dollhouse.
  3. I would bring a chocolate shoofly pie, and sweet potato bread.

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had?
A perm. No more comments on that one.
What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid?
I collected miniature horses; I think I had about 400 of them. I’m going to bring them home from my parents, they have kept them in cardboard boxes for years, and I am thinking of putting them on shelves in my future office. I’m trying not to think about dusting, though.
If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring?
Swedish specialty “Jansson’s frestelse” if it’s cold season. It’s a sure success, I haven’t met anyone not liking it! And it’s easy peasy to fix. If it’s summer, I’ll bring a Lebanese Tabboulé. I’d love to taste your sweet potato bread! And the name of the cake makes my mouth water…

    1. Perms could be a nightmare!

Oh, miniature horses. That’s wonderful. That would be so nice in your office, I think. Yeah, the dusting, though! LOL

I think your specialties would be great at a potluck! Girl, my sweet potato bread and honey butter, for some of your cuisine! 😀

  2. It was fun to read your and others’ responses to your questions. Here are mine: 1. Worst haircut-a tight, smelly perm. I have naturally curly hair, so I don’t know why my mother did that to me. 2. My collection was books. I LOVED my books. 3. I’d probably bring cookies. Everyone asks me to bake something.

    1. Thank you, Mary!

      1. Oh dear, and your hair was already curly! Those perms sure can be smelly! I feel you pain. 🙂
      2. That’s a great collection!
      3. That sounds great!

Thank you for playing, Mary! I hope you are having a great day!

  3. When I was in high school I got the Princess Diana haircut. Words can’t adequately describe the tragedy.
Besides having a cat, I collected other animals – lightning bugs, caterpillars, and tadpoles. Can’t remember exactly what my plan was for them.
No doubt it would be something chocolate/peanut butter.

      1. LOL How many people got the Princess Diana cut and were unhappy? LOL When I was in elementary school, the Dorothy Hamill cut was all the rage.
      2. I love that!
      3. No doubt I’d be in line for that no matter how long it took. LOL

Thanks for playing, Teri! It’s so good to see you!

  4. Ahhh I love your answers! Lol 😆 I’ve known quite a few people to sport a faux hawk lol 😂 that was all the rage back in the day! I wanna try your sweet potato bread! Sounds yummy 🐈‍⬛ 🐈
    1. Bangs…anything with bangs looks awful on me lol 😆
    2. Playing piano – really wish I had kept this up over the years
    3. Pot roast…mmm yummy 😋 (might’ve already been mentioned? Haven’t looked at all the comments) lol

    1. I will make you some! 😀

      1. Ah, I hear you on that.
      2. That’s so cool. 🌺
      3. No, I think you’re the first with the pot roast! Woot! Sounds great!

Thank you so much for playing. It’s good to see you. 🌺🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛

  5. Somehow, I can’t picture you with a faux hawk! 😆 My worst haircut was a “Prince Valiant” style at age 11. (Short blunt cut with bangs. 😝) As a child, writing dark-themed plays and short stories is what I enjoyed most. For the potluck, how about a fennel and orange salad? Need a main course? Linguine with shrimp and clams in a white wine butter sauce. 😋

    1. Believe me, it was not flattering. hahahaa

      1. Oh the Prince Valiant cut. 😀
      2. That sounds really cool! You must have a terrific imagination!
      3. That sounds great to me!

Thank you so much for playing! I hope your Saturday is going well.

  6. Worst hairstyle – I’ve had a few bad ones, but the worst was the one my mom gave me every several months – the bowl cut. She’d stick a bowl on my head and cut around it. I looked so dorky as a kid!
I really enjoyed reading, and still do. I, also, played marbles, and had collected quite a few beauties.
I’d bring some stroganoff (meat version and a veggie version).

      1. Oh no, not the bowl cut! I was a dorky kid, too. 😀
      2. The Mister collected marbles, too. I bet yours were really nice. Reading is a great hobby, too!
      3. A veggie version! I’d like to try that, so I’ll be in line for it, for sure! 😀

Thank you so much for playing. Happy Saturday!

  7. My mom made me get a pixie (very short) as a kid and I hated it! I can’t say that a had a hobby but I liked looking for Indian relics and fishing. I would bring a broccoli salad.

      1. Oh, yes, the pixie cut! I had one of those, too, and the boys who were playing outside asked me if I was a girl or a boy. LOL
      2. That must’ve been fun!
      3. Yum! I love broccoli salad!

Thank you, Diane, for playing! I hope your weekend is treating you well.

  8. My worst haircut was a flat-top. I was a young boy, and had to us, I think they called it Butch Wax to keep the front of it pointing straight up.
A hobby I was really into as a kid – reading. And that hasn’t changed. A lifelong love of reading, influenced by my parents.
For a potluck dinner, I would bring Beef Tips and Rice, and a Dump Cake for dessert (that’s pineapples, cherry pie filling, yellow cake mix, butter, and pecans–dump and bake).

    1. Hi, Jeff!

      1. Those crewcuts are still everywhere, I think. I didn’t know about Butch Wax.
      2. That’s wonderful about the love of reading you had instilled in you from a young child. I feel the same way about reading.
      3. Sounds great! I’ll be in line!

Thank you so much for playing, Jeff! I hope you have a great weekend!

  9. A perm that made me look like a poodle, around 25 years ago. I had long hair and decided to “fluff it up.” Big mistake.
I collected buttons and grouped them into families. They all had their own names and lived in a big tin chocolate box from the fifties.
    I will bring Cuban flan!

      1. LOL I know that perm! 😀
      2. Your button collection sounds awesome! I like how you divided them into houses.
      3. Very nice! I will be in that line!

Thank you so much for playing! I enjoyed your answers!

  10. What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had? A self-administered haircut I attempted to do because my hair was a bit too long and Mom was too busy to take me to the nearby barber shop. (Hey…I was 11.)
What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid? If 14 years old is still considered being a kid, collecting Star Wars action figures (the small ones) was my obsession – er….hobby. 46 years later, it still is, but I have not bought any new figures here in New Hampshire.
If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring? Colombian-style empanadas!

    1. Hi, Alex!

      1. LOL I love those self-inflicted haircuts! lol
      2. Yes, I’d say you’re still a kid at 14, and I think that’s a fine collection to have. My neighbor had a collection of the action figures and we played with them in his sandbox. I think maybe they are still there. lol My son collects Star Wars Lego sets.
      3. Oh, now that sounds delish!

Thank you so much for playing! I hope this Friday 13th is treating you well!

  11. I’m glad you’re still doing these, Kymber. A faux-hawk? LOL. And would you believe I’ve never had Shoofly Pie? I had to look it up to see what it is (yum).
    1. A horrible bowl-type repair job after I cut my hair myself when I was about 7.
    2. I used to collect dolls from all around the world.
    3. I make a wicked dip that’s so easy even I can’t screw it up (sundried tomatoes, feta, and fresh basil leaves). Otherwise, I offer to bring paper goods. Lol
    Thanks for the fun!

    1. I’m glad you’re glad! 😀 You must try some shoofly pie!

      1. Oh, yes, the “cut my own hair” disaster. LOL Hopefully it grew out fast.
      2. Wow! Do you still have your collection? That’s pretty cool!
      3. Sounds terrific! Every family has the one that has to bring paper goods. LOL 🙂

Thank you so much for playing, I really appreciate it. xo

      1. I sold the doll collection last year, Kymber. My daughter didn’t want it, and it had been sitting in storage bins for decades. Sigh. Going through it brought back a lot of memories. 🙂

  12. 1) Worst hairstyle, hmmmm. What is hair? I would have to say it was a buzz cut as a kid in summertime. It was cool while also being uncool.
    2) Hobby as a child. So many different things. I would say it was photography, because that is what stuck.
    3) Depending on the crowd, it might be something baked, scones, biscuits, etc. If it was an evening gathering maybe some of my homemade lasagna.

Happy Friday the 13th Kymber. Allan

    1. Hi, Allan!
      1) Oh, I see what you mean. 🙂
      2) What a wonderful way to spend your childhood years! With photography! And you still love it, too. That’s great!
      3) You’re invited to the potluck! LOLOL

Thank you so much for playing! I hope you have a happy FriYAY!

  13. I’d like to come to your potluck!

What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had? Every time I’ve tried to have bangs.
What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid? Collecting model horses.
If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring? Bruschetta, since it went over super well at a recent work party.

    1. The more, the merrier!

      1. Oh, yes, I feel your pain. Mine were always crooked. lol
      2. I bet your collection was beautiful!
      3. I saw that, and I’ll be right in line to get some!

Thank you so much, Stephanie, for playing! Your answers are terrific!

      1. I was told my forehead is too small to ever have bangs, which is sad because I love them! Thanks for your questions, Kymber!

  14. Kymber, I have always enjoyed your “Get to Know” posts. From your responses, sweet potato bread sounds delicious. Here are my answers:

By today’s standards, in my childhood my hairstyle was the crewcut. I looked just like my father. We’ve both adapted other hairstyles since those days. In my childhood, I enjoyed collecting baseball cards, As for a potluck dinner, I would enjoy bringing some of my delicious crab dip.

    1. Hey, thank you so much for telling me! 🙂 I’m so happy!

      1. Ah, yes, the crewcut! Timeless!
      2. Wonderful! Baseball cards are cool! My favorite team is the Detroit Tigers, how about you?
      3. And I would enjoy eating that crab dip. LOL

Thank you so much for playing! Your answers are great!

      1. Thank you Kymber for adding to this conversation. I don’t follow any baseball teams at the moment, but I’ve clung to the Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Baltimore Orioles in seasons past.

        1. Those are great teams! I’ve grew up a Tiger fan’s daughter. lol We watched every game that aired or was on the radio, and we went to several, too. Good memories.

  15. Fun questions! And I like your answers — the shoofly pie and sweet potato bread sound delicious! Here are my answers:

There’s an elementary school photo of me where I have a lopsided haircut. My grandfather would take me to a barber who was on the older side. My cousin used to swear the barber was nearly blind.
    I collected comic books.
I’d bring a pasta salad with veggies, hard-boiled eggs, and beans. The pasta would certainly be the spiral kind 🙂

    1. Thank you, Dave!

      1. LOL Oh boy. 😀 I am agreeing with your cousin on this one.
      2. Comic books are fun! What kind?
      3. Oh, yes, of course! Sounds great!

Thank you so much for playing! I hope you’re having/had a good Thursday!

      1. For the comics, we’re talking back in the ’80s. I loved different kinds. Including the wise-cracks of Spider-man, the cool darkness of Batman, the range of heroes in the X-Men. Also, I liked Richie Rich for the over-the-topness of his mansion and his many playhouses. And I liked Archie for him and his buddies dealing with more down-to-earth stuff than the superheroes and villains 🙂

  16. I don’t know if this is technically a hairstyle cause I don’t know what to call it, but there’s a photo of me on my mom’s desk at her job where my hair is this giant, ugly, frizzy, dry poof in a ponytail/bun-thing that is a hot mess. I did wear this “poof” for a good minute of my life.
I liked to collect the brand tags off of clothes. I would ask people to give them to me when they bought new clothes (even my classmates). I had a pretty big collection by the time I graduated high school.
Peach cobbler, cherry pie, or baked spaghetti

      1. LOLOL We all had hairstyles we wore too often. 😀 😀 😀
      2. That is a fun collection! I never thought of doing that!
      3. Oooooh, all 3 please! 😀

Thank you so much for playing! Your answers are terrific!

  17. These are my answers

What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had? Think Anton Chigurh. My parents made sure that never happened again.

What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid? Collecting stamps and hiking in the forest.

If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring? Sausage, rhubarb pie, or craft beer if appropriate

    1. Hi, Thomas!
      1. LOL Oh, dear. That must have been something!
      2. Those are great hobbies! Do you still have your stamp collection and do you ever look at it?
      3. That sounds great!

Thank you so much for playing! Happy Thursday!

  18. I taught myself how to cut my hair in my teens, so pretty much every haircut for the first couple years, I would imagine. 2. In second and third grade I loved Wacky Packages. Still do. Though my collection is in the attic of my mom’s house (so she claims, anyway) I have the first two volumes of their collected works, and every so often I’ll take it out and flip through it. 3. I would bring my famous knife and fork combo.

      1. LOL Oh dear. Well you don’t learn unless you practice.
      2. I bet that’s fun to look at. 🙂
      3. What is the famous knife and fork combo? 😀 I have a suspician I know, but I want to hear anyway.

Thank you so much for playing, your answers are great!

  19. OMG, I got stuck at the bad haircut one, because I’ve never had anything but! I think it might be root wrenching from the high forceps birth which created the six major cowlicks ~ some of them change direction in the middle! ~ and the fact that all my back hair grows straight up, all my front hair grows straight down, and all my side hair bunches up right over the ears and grows straight out… But it doesn’t explain why I have thin, thick, wavy, curly and straight hair all growing on the same head. I’ve never had a hairdresser who could deal! 😱😆

    1. Hmmm this sounds like a challenge! It certainly makes things difficult when you don’t like your hair.

Thank you so much, Ana, for stopping by and playing! Happy Thursday!

  20. HI Kymber, I shall have to look up what a faux-hawk is – not familiar to me. I had quite a bouffant hairstyle in high school. Real late ’80s and early 90s stuff. I look back at it in horror. A favourite hobby is hard for me. I always read a lot and I always did a lot of art. I created shell art and drew, coloured, constructed, made dolls clothes, and dolls houses and paper dolls. You name it, and I made it. I’ve never made a pot luck dinner – haha! I am a planner. If I had to though, it would be homemade pizza as I have the ingredients to hand.

    1. Hi, Robbie! It’s great to see you!

A faux-hawk is a mohawk but the sides aren’t shaven down, they are just shorter then the hair on top. If that makes sense. lol

      1. The bouffant! Yes, I love it!
      2. You are so talented! I love how creative you are.
      3. That sounds great! Who doesn’t like pizza?

Thank you so much for playing the game, Robbie. Happy Thursday!

  21. What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had? Got a buzzcut in the summer. Mae my head look like a potato.
What’s a hobby you were really into as a kid? Building and flying model airplanes. Not the sophisticated remote control ones we see today but the gas driven ones that were on a wire.
If we had a potluck dinner, what would you bring? I think I would bring a King Ranch casserole and wine.

    1. Oh no! No one wants their head to look like a potato!
I bet it was fun to build and fly model airplanes!
Nice! What is a King Ranch casserole? I’d like to try it!

Thank you so much for playing, John. Your answers are great!

  22. More fun! Worse haircut – Many years ago I was so broke I couldn’t afford a hair stylist, so a barber cut my hair super short on top and sides and left the back long. It was hideous! Hobby as a kid: Definitely reading and collecting rocks. Bring to a potluck: Depends on if there is a theme, but if not, probably a pot of red beans and a pan of cornbread. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Jan!
      1. Oh dear, I can see why you wouldn’t like that.
      2. Reading and collecting rocks are things I still do. LOL I think that sounds like lovely past times in your youth.
      3. Oh, now that sounds delicious!

Thank you for playing, Jan! Happy Thursday!

  23. !. My dad used an old barber. He gave all the kids the same cut, a “Hollywood GI.” It was a buzz cut left a bit long in front. I hated it. Haven’t been to a barber in decades!
    2. Bicycle. A couple of friends and I were into riding before it became a sport, as such. English touring bikes.
    3. Something without MSG. Or cinnamon cookies that are like a snickerdoodle only not so light and with more cinnamon.

    1. Hi, George! Great to see you!

      1. I can see why you haven’t if you hated the haircut you always got there.
      2. Your bike riding sounds like fun!
      3. Those sound gooood! I’d try them!

Thank you so much for playing the game. I hope your day is going well!

  24. First off, I’m coming to your potluck! Never had chocolate shoo-fly pie or sweet potato bread!

I had a bad perm once, it was awful!
Playing the guitar my dad bought me, macrame, owls, and rock posters like Robert Plant and Steven Tyler -plus the life sized one of Frampton from Frampton Comes Alive!
I’d make squash casserole and broccoli salad. 😁

    1. You’re more than welcome! 😀 They are both yummy!

      1. Perms can do that, unfortunately. I wish it was so, though.
      2. Your hobbies were so creative!
      3. Oh, I’ll be in line for your food! LOL

Thank you so much for playing, Kim. Happy Thursday!

    1. Hi, KC!
      It didn’t look right, eh?
      Those are cool collections!
Shepherd’s Pie is amazing! I’d be in line, for sure!

Thank you for playing the game. I hope you’re having a great Thursday!

  25. Fun questions, and I like your answer, especially the food you’d bring. Both sound really good.
My, I’ve had so many hairstyles over the years, but the worst was when the beauty shop people cut all my long hair off to about an inch all over, when all I asked for was a trim on the ends. I had to buy a wig until my hair grew back in.
I’ve had lots of hobbies and done a lot of crafts, too. For awhile I loved doing mosaic pictures with cord, very small rocks, and fake jewels that came in kits.
For the potluck, I’d have to bring my potato salad, and baked beans. I make both from scratch, and people always asked me for them. 🙂

    1. They are yuuuuuummmmmmy! LOL 😀

OMG, the people who cut your hair should have been fired!
I think mosaics are fun, and I bet yours were great!
I’d eat those! LOL Sounds delicious!

Thank you so much for playing! It’s great to see you!

  26. I answer;

My hair is cut from zero size on the way to the army 🥲
When I was little, I used to accumulate pokemon thassos and marbles.
Biscuit cake, lahmacun and ayran 😃😀🪿🪿🐈🦋
