            1. LOL! I decided to do the reading challenge on Goodreads and I set the number to 100 books for the year. The problem was, I didn’t start until May. LOL So, as of right now, I’ve read 48 books since May, and I’m 16 books behind schedule if I’m going to meet my goal. I’m too competitive to give up. LOL

  1. Thank you for sharing!!.. I read in the evening and I just follow my heart, romance, mystery, etc… have a library of around 2000 books downloaded on my Kindle that I have purchased over the years… too many reruns on tv so streaming online with PBS Passport, they have some interesting shows, one caught my interest was “Miss Scarlet and the Duke” and, of course, there is Agatha Christie, Downton Abbey, etc… 🙂

Hope life is all that you wish for it to be and until we meet again…
    May your troubles be less
    Your blessings be more
    And nothing but happiness
    Come through your door

    1. Thank you so much, Dutch. 🙂 That is a lot of books! But reading is so much fun. I think I’d like to catch that show. And a big YES to Agatha Christie! 😀

      1. Yes dear, you certainly have some good reads listed. I will have to add to my list. Are you by chance on Goodreads? If so, please send me a friend invite so we can connect my dear. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🌞💖🥰

  2. Right now reading Patriot Games by Tom Clancy and have just finished Better Off Dead and No Plan B by Lee Child. I have read all his Jack Reacher books and am an unconditional fan. After reading the Interview with a Vampire series a few years ago, I binged on Anne Rice ; Lasher, Taltos, and Merrick, I just love how she describes nature and atmosphere.
I am mostly watching documentaries at the moment, I have combed through a lot about the Islamic state, women’s role in WWI and WWII, some stuff about crocodiles and then about climate change. No Place to Hide is about a young Canadian girl who was raped, became the accused, got bullied at school and on social medias, and finally comitted suicide. I’m working on how to use the documentary with my seniors this year…

    1. Wow! That is terrific! I love documentaries and the ones you spoke about sound so interesting. I think I would enjoy them. Most of the documentaries I watch are about the War of the Roses and the Tudors. I love that time period and all of the intrigues.

I binged Anne Rice’s Vampire series, too. I didn’t read her others but I always meant to. Did you watch the Mayfair Witches? I thought it was really good but I don’t know how it compares to the books.

  3. Wow, well someone’s clearly a horror book fan 😊 I like them too. You read a lot of books this month! I set myself a goal to read only books about Disability or featuring Disabled main characters this year so I’m currently reading Disability Visibility. My favourite read I finished was Pet by Akwaeke Emezi, Emezi’s writing style is so beautiful. I watched Beef but didn’t finish it. Glad to see you’re a fellow Star Trek fan 🥰

    1. Yesssss, horror fan here. For sure. lol I like how you’re reading books where the main character is disabled. That is so cool. 🤍🌺

I’m going to check out Pet since you liked it so much.

I haven’t seen Beef. And, Star Trek is awesome! lol 😀

    1. LOLOLOL OMG, I laughed so hard at your comment. It made my day. In fact, I laughed so hard, I had to read it to my husband and he thought it was great.

I’m disabled and a total insomniac which is why I have all the time in the world to read. Let’s see, it’s August 7th, and I’m reading my fifth book. It’s a long one, so I don’t know when I’ll finish it.

Fun fact, when I was a kid, I was such a voracious reader that when I got in trouble, my mom would ground me from books. LOLOL

      1. so can I talk you into beta reading my ‘in the making book’ one day 🙂
        Glad I made you laugh!
(I got grounded from books too) Goodness I thought I was the only one.

        1. I would love to beta read your “in the making book.” That would be so cool!

You got grounded from books, too? You’re the first person I’ve met who had that happen, too! 😀 lol

          1. My email address is TheHappyQuitter@aol.com if you have an email address you want to share I will gladly send you my beta file, it’s about 30 chapters now and I am trying to figure if it’s worth finishing it. I had three beta readers so far, and they never got to it (so they say).

    1. Thank you, Jacquie. 🤍🌺 You are right about the dark reading. It’s my favorite genre. But I am trying to expand the types of books I read in August. We’ll see how that goes. lol

  4. I can’t believe you had time for all of that!
I read The Woods by Harlan Coben and a couple of others. With Libby, I can only have them out 14 days, but I can’t read long enough at night to get through as many as you. Once I take my sleep gummy I’m out pretty quick!
I watched the prequel to Yellowstone, 1883, most of the way, but my brother doesn’t have internet or streaming services, so I’ll have to finish when we get back to the motor home. We also started the new season of Justified, but only got in three episodes. I also saw The Wilds, and The Leftovers however, some of those might have been at the end of June. I also caught the movie Nope but again, not sure of the date.

    1. Thank you, Kim. 🤍🌺 I’m a total insomniac, so for better or worse, reading doesn’t make me sleepy. I wish it did. lol

My sister uses Libby and she loves it. I’m going to check it out.

I really liked the movie Nope. I thought it was humorous. I sure felt sorry for some of those horses, though.

Did you like 1883? I liked it better than Yellowstone, tbh.

  5. I’m sensing a bit of a theme there……but not surprising considering your love of thrillers and horror films. Those books would give me nightmares on top of the ones I already have!

    1. Thank you, Bee. 🤍🌺 I don’t know why this is my favorite genre. Maybe there is something wrong with me. haha lol

I’m trying to expand the type of genres I’m reading in August.

  6. 19 books in one month? More than I have read since 2005! Your list is impressive and you have a special genre you like I guess. So keep reading and stay inquisitive. Sit back with a glass of wine and enjoy. It’s a very admirable trait.

    1. Thank you so much. 🙂 I am a reading machine. LOL I’ve always been a voracious reader. When I was a kid, if I ran out of books to read, I read bottles under the sink. LOL If it had words, I was reading it.

I do like gothic horror the best. I’m hoping to expand my genre reading in August. lol
