Those 2 Times I Cooked for Chef Gordon Ramsay

I have a story to tell about the times I cooked for Chef Gordon Ramsay.

Last year, I was competing in a fierce cooking competition in which Chef Ramsay was the judge. He was stern as he gave the instructions. Then came the moment we’d been waiting for: What were we to prepare?

A fish dish! Woot! My specialty!

The preparation time was all ticked away before I even knew it, but I was certain I would win!

I pulled the yummy fish out of the oven, and to my horror, it was fish sticks! Yes, frozen, disgusting fish sticks! You know, like these:

Then, I had a flashback of opening the freezer door, getting a box of frozen fish sticks out, arranging them carefully on the baking tray, and shoving them in the oven.

I looked at the clock, but time was up! Ooooooh, what had I done?

Chef Ramsay started with tasting other dishes, which mostly got compliments. When he saw my dish, you should have seen his face. He wouldn’t even try my fish sticks.

No, instead he yelled,

I’d never been so embarrassed.

The next time I cooked for him… yes, there was one other time-

-Uh, right. What he said.

This time, we were to make whatever dish was our specialty. I reached deep in my soul for this one and decided to make deviled eggs.

Something went wrong, though, and it could’ve been when I added chocolate to the yolk mixture. My deviled eggs filling was brown!

This time, he came straight to me.

And that, my friends, was the end of my culinary dreams. 😭

As an afterthought, I wrote Chef Ramsay an apology for what he thought were my horrible mistakes. But it didn’t go so well.

After thinking about it, I was greatly offended by his response, so I wrote a scathing letter to him, tearing him up one side and down the other.

Sadly, there was no response. It was when I didn’t hear back from him I realized I must’ve won the argument. And that’s when I figured out that I’m not a cook at all.

I’m a writer!

This is actually a compilation of two different dreams (nightmares?) I had on two separate occasions. I might rethink watching any more episodes of Hell’s Kitchen! 😂😂
