Get to Know You #32

Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts!

So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.

Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!

Use the QR code to read this post on any device.

Here is round #32:

  1. What is your favorite quote?
  2. Do you think dreams have deeper meanings?
  3. Do you tend to trust people easily?

Here are my answers:

  1. β€œYou own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.” ~Anne Lamott
  2. I don’t know. Do these dreams mean anything, you think?
    a. Recurring Dream: I’m driving a car but I can never reach the breaks and I crash into everything but can’t stop the car.
    b. Recurring Dream: I’m chewing such a huge wad of bubble gum that I am choking, but no matter how much I remove from my mouth, it never gets smaller.
  3. I used to, but it’s something I’m more careful about now. I’m with the guy in that meme on the right with the little list of people he trusts. LOL

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. What is your favorite quote?
Hic et nunc – but I’m getting more patient with age.

Do you think dreams have deeper meanings?
I think recurring dreams have deeper meanings telling you about yourself. I used to dream about going for a ride, but I never got my horse ready in time, it always got dark before I could ride out. I guess I was a bit overwhelmed juggling two kids and my job at the time…
In another one I’m diving, but I can’t seem to break the surface, I just belly flop in front of everyone. Suppose it has to do with being afraid to make a fool of myself.
Or when I’m in a swing and fly out of it, knowing it will hurt when I hit the ground… But I never do, I wake up just before impact…

Do you tend to trust people easily?
That’s a good question, and I used to be rather naΓ―ve when it came to my relations with people. I’m getting more cynical, and my list is of trustworthy people tends to become just as tiny as your funny picture. I realize it when I see my daughter making exactly the same mistakes I did at her age, confiding in people she should be more aware of.

    1. That is a good quote! We should live in the moment, I’d say. πŸ˜€

I think you are right about recurring dreams. Thank you for sharing yours.

Yes, I completely understand where you’re coming from because that is similar to me.

Thank you so much for stopping by and playing the game! Your answers are fantastic!

  2. I answered your questions in my post here: https://blogojednojljubaviijednojboli.wordpress.com/2024/08/30/get-to-know-you-32/
But I guess I can copy paste them as well. πŸ™‚

It might be this one: β€œThe wound is the place where the Light enters you.” – Rumi
Dreams definitely have deeper meanings. Sometimes they don’t, but other times they do. I’ve had prophetic dreams and dreams that revealed deeper parts of my psyche to me. Dreams that gave me insights on what’s actually happening with me and my life. So yeah, dreams definitely have deeper meanings.
I trust people easily, but I am good at discerning right people from wrong ones.

    1. Thank you so much, Sky!

Oh, I like that quote very much! It’s so thoughtful.

That is so interesting. I can see why you believe this. And I agree with you.

That’s good. I call that the B.S. Meter and I have a close friend who can do that. I’m not so good at it, though. LOL

I hope you have a terrific weekend! I’m heading over to your blog now. πŸ™‚ 🌸

  3. 1) The first part of the Serenity Prayer
    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
    2) Definitely, but likely not in the way we think. I think we dream when we are stressed, worried or in pain. I had to prepare a speech for a former employee’s retirement and even though I did not think I was stressed, I had several nights of work dreams (and I have been retired for nearly 10 years).
    3) I used to, but not any more. It can take a lifetime to establish trust but only one moment to destroy it. That sounds like another quote.

    Happy Friday Kymber. Allan

    1. 1) I love the Serenity Prayer.
      2) Ooooh, I think that’s true!
      3) It does, but it’s good. Makes total sense!

Thank you so much for playing, Allan. I hope you have a great weekend!

  4. I really like the Anne Lamott quote that you chose β€” I hadn’t heard of it before, and it’s a great one.
    My answers to your questions:

β€œIn the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.” β€” Albert Camus
For me, dreams can have deep meanings. They can show me things that my brain is struggling with, but aren’t top of mind. But then, some dreams are just wacky and don’t have a deep meaning. πŸ™‚
Similar to you, my trust has lessened as I’ve grown older. Being careful has protected my emotions now and then.

    1. Thank you. I’m quite fond of that quote. πŸ˜€

      Your quote is amazing!

Yes, I can understand that about dreams.

It has mine, too. I totally agree with your reasoning.

Thank you so much, Dave, for playing my game. I hope you have a happy weekend!

  5. Man, these are such good questions, Kymber! I’m coming back in the morning when I’m more awake lol or perhaps I’ll make a post to answer. The dreams, you totally know I do! Yours sound very vivid and intriguing. Love your quote and your answers as well πŸ©·πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆ

  6. What is your favorite quote? When nothing goes right, go left.
Do you think dreams have deeper meanings? Our dreams show us what’s on our minds. Just because we sleep doesn’t mean our brain does.
Do you tend to trust people easily? Still do, but a bit more careful.

    Great answers, Kymber.

  7. Once again, I love your answers KymberNoodle. You know I do believe dreams have a deeper meaning. Of course my explanation would be way too long to get into that right now. πŸ€£πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ 😜 Like you, I “used” to trust people easily but eventually they showed me that I must proceed with caution. And one of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is β€œWhen someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” I think that’s why I have trust issues! 😱

    1. Thank you, ChickAdee! I can’t wait to hear some day about your dreams and what they mean! 🌺🌸 I love Maya Angelou and I love that quote! It’s so true!

      1. Awwww, you are some kind of sweetest of sweets KymberNoodle! 😘 You made my day! 🌞 Dream a little dream for me! 😴 Hugs girlfriend! πŸ€—πŸ’πŸ₯°

        1. Oooooh, you mentioning Dream a Little Dream of Me… Louis Armstrong is superb with that song! You have to listen. πŸ˜€ The Mister and I have been listening to Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday since our high school days. lol

          Hugs, GF! xoxo

          1. Oh I simply LOVE your diverse taste in music my sweet KymberNoodle. πŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸŽ€ Just vibe in the moment sweetcheeks. Enjoy the rest of your FANtabulous week my dear with your Mister. πŸ’‘ Hugs and smooches! πŸ€—πŸ₯‚πŸ˜˜

  8. Great answers and fascinating recurring dreams!!

    What is your favorite quote?
“We are here on earth to help others; what on earth the others are here for, I don’t know.”
Do you think dreams have deeper meanings?
Some do. I think we are aware of things with our un and sub-conscious minds that we edit out otherwise, and that dreams are one of the best ways to tap into that knowing.
Do you tend to trust people easily?
I tend to like people fairly easy, but trust takes a lot longer. There also aren’t a lot of reasons in my life to need to actually entrust people lately.

    1. Thank you, Stephanie! It’s great to see you!

LMAO that is such a funny quote!

      That’s really interesting about dreams.

Oooh, that’s a great distinction you make between liking someone and trusting them.

Thank you so much for playing! Loved your answers! πŸ’›πŸˆπŸŒ»

  9. Lol, love that meme. It’s from a show called Community that I really enjoyed. I think the older we get, the less people we trust.

    1. I think I’ll check that out and see if I can stream it or something. πŸ˜€ And, I think you’re right about trusting less people as we get older. πŸ’›πŸˆπŸŒ»

  10. I always liked that quote, too. πŸ™‚
My favorite has always been from Poe – “All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dram”
Recurring dreams are weird. I don’t know if dreams are trying to give us a message, good or bad, but I have some awful ones I’d rather not recur, and some favorite ones that are fun and I like when these come along again. πŸ™‚
I trust my family, all others are on probation until proven trustworthy.

    1. It’s a good one, for sure.

Poe is an excellent choice, and that quote is so good!

I totally agree. I welcome the silly or funny ones back around, too. LOL

LOL They’re on probation. That is funny! But it’s needed. lol

Thank you so much for stopping by and playing this game. I enjoyed your answers!

  11. I’m in!
Favorite Quote – β€œLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming β€˜Wow! What a Ride!’”
    Hunter S. Thompson

Dreams – Absolutely, although I rarely remember them.

Trust – Not at all, it takes time to build trust with anyone.
These are excellent Kymber, thanx for sharing with us.

    1. All righty! Let’s go!

      1. I love Hunter S. Thompson quotes. πŸ˜€
      2. Good answer πŸ˜€
      3. I can understand that and agree with you.

Thank you so much, Dawg. I’m glad you like these posts, and I thank you for stopping by to play!

  12. Hello Kymber!! Great answers. I agree with the quote you shared…

    My favorite quote is :
“If you don’t see it with your own eyes or hear it with your own ears, don’t invent it with your small mind and share it with your big mouth.” by Denise Swanson. I am sure you can appreciate why… lol
As for dreams, I have these dreams of watching my toxic bullies being arrested for criminal harassment.
As for trusting people? It takes a while for me to trust people. I follow my intuition. I see narcissism everywhere these days.

I have to admit I have become a bit more open about showing myself in public these past few months. I have been known to smile a lot more easily these days, even to strangers, and I speak up about what is on my mind. I don’t shy away anymore and it feels awesome!

    1. Thank you, Lorrie!

LOL Now there is a quote everyone should know!

That sounds like a great dream!

I think following your intuition is a good idea. I see narcissism a lot, too.

I think that’s great Lorrie, and I’m so glad for the update. I’ve been wondering how you were. πŸ™‚ I love that you don’t shy away now. That must feel awesome indeed!

  13. Fun questions! Favorite Quote: Always do the best you can with what you have where you are. Dreams: Absolutely! I know dreams can carry messages through the subconscious and can also allow us to visit loved ones who have passed on. Trust: Mostly. I’ve learned to be more cautious over the years, but always want give people a chance.

    1. Thank you, Jan!

      Yesss, excellent quote.

I think that is a great answer about dreams. I’ve spoken with loved ones who were no longer with us in my dreams.

I think it’s nice giving people a chance.

I’m so glad you stopped by and played the game, Jan! Happy Thursday!

  14. Hi, Kymber.

    Here are my answers:

What is your favorite quote? β€œBooks are a uniquely portable magic.” ― Stephen King, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft
Do you think dreams have deeper meanings? To paraphrase Sigmund Freud, β€œSometimes a dream is just a dream.”
Do you tend to trust people easily? Not usually, especially after my mom died in 2015.

    1. Hi there, Alex!

Now that is a great Stephen King quote!

      LOL I bet you’re right, too. πŸ˜€

      I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for playing my game!

  15. Hi Kymber…

    so hard to choose lol.
for now ” live simply so others may simply live”
depending on the dream…I think at times it has much to do with subconscious thoughts that need to surface…other times…it’s worth a good laugh πŸ˜‚
    Trust….too fragile to grow easily…

    lol the meme…πŸ€πŸ˜‚

      1. That is an awesome quote!
      2. I know that’s right! I’ve had some pretty vivid dreams that are so funny.
      3. This is also true!

Wise answers, Destiny! Thank you for playing my game!

  16. What is your favorite quote? “And so it goes.” By Kurt Vonnegut
Do you think dreams have deeper meanings? I think dreams are the way the mind burns off troubling feelings. Yes, they have meaning but only like sweating to cool the body has meaning.
Do you tend to trust people easily? I used to trust freely. Then I began kindergarten and found out what humans are really like. Now trust is earned.

    1. Yes, that is an excellent choice for a favorite quote.
I see. That’s interesting. That makes sense.
LOLOLOL That’s funny. You learned a lot earlier than I did. πŸ˜€ But I like that trust is earned.

Thank you so much, John, for playing my game. I hope the day is treating you well.

  17. Q1: Life is simple. It’s just not easy.
Q2: Yes, Dreams have a deeper meaning. I’ve had so many life changing dreams, which gave me meaningful answers to specific life situations.
Q3: Unfortunately, I don’t trust anyone anymore. I have a deep connection with animals. Horses, cats, dogs, parrots, lizards 😍

    1. Q1: Oh, now that is the truth! Good one!
Q2: That’s great! I like to think they mean something.
      Q3: I trust animals, too.

Thank you so much, Chris, for playing my game! I hope you’re having a great Thursday!

  18. Great Answers. I’m with you on 2 and 3. I actually lost my list of people I can trust. It’s sad but true. Everyone eventually shows their true self once you don’t bend over backwards for them.
Dreams ? I used to believe that they served a purpose. Now, I just rely on God and Prayer.
Question number 1… My favorite quote is, Rick Warren
God’s purpose is greater than our problems.

    1. Hi, Willie! Great to see you!

I think relying on God and prayer is a good idea. πŸ™‚

      1. Oooooh now that is a good one! I’m writing it down. πŸ˜€

Thank you so much for playing my game. I hope you’re having a wonderful Thursday!

  19. I like that quote! πŸ˜€ Mine is “Whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”.

I’m sure dreams are rooted in our subconscious, and related to our lives somehow, but specific meanings escape me. Yours could be about lack of control over something unpleasant? Just a guess! I used to suffer from night terrors and often woke up screaming, but not remembering why.

As you and others have said, I was more trusting in my younger years. After being burned too many times, that is no longer the case.

    1. Thank you, Debbie.

      I like your quote, too.

Oh dear, night terrors are awful. And not to remember what terrified you is also terrifying.

I feel you on that, for sure.

Thank you so much for stopping by and playing my game! Here’s to a happy Thursday! πŸ’›πŸˆπŸŒ»

  20. OMG, the 2nd question is why my title to this post will be very special πŸ˜‚. I had planned to write a post about that this upcoming week to be honest. It’s not been written yet. I’m waiting for a reply for somebody before I can write it.

  21. Those are great answers. These are mine.

What is your favorite quote? β€œThe fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” ― Bertrand Russell
Do you think dreams have deeper meanings? I think they can reflect how we feel and our stress, but I don’t believe in the various dream interpretation systems.
Do you tend to trust people easily? Yes and no. I trust people’s promises and apparent intentions a bit too easily, and then I want to kick myself for believing them. Politicians, people selling political agendas, conspiracy theorists, people with strong opinions on subjects they are not well educated on, are groups of people I would never trust under any circumstance.

      1. Makes sense to me! LOL
      2. I see. That makes sense, too.
      3. I don’t think I would trust those types of people either.

Thank you for playing, Thomas! Happy Thursday to you!

  22. Philo’s favorite quote is, “My philosophy isΒ LifeΒ is hard, butΒ GodΒ is good. Try not to confuse the two”
    Anne F. Beilery.”
Dreams can sometimes have deeper meanings, revealing hidden thoughts or emotions.
3.I don’t tend to trust people easily; I prefer to be cautious.
    Thank you.
    Philo

    1. LOL I love that quote! haha
      I think that’s pretty neat.
I think being cautious is a good thing.

Thank you so much, Philo, for playing my game! Happy Thursday!

  23. I loved Anne Lamott’s book, Operating Instructions. Those dreams sound like something to do with fear and feelings of impossibility. I think we all experience those kinds of feelings at one point or another.
