Hello and happy timezones, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts!

Here is round #30:

  1. Would you rather sit through a Star Wars marathon or a Lord of the Rings marathon?
  2. What would you have a personal assistant do if you could have someone follow you around all the time?
  3. If someone offered you a million dollars to give up your smartphone forever, would you do it?

Here are my answers:

  1. I’d rather sit through LOTR, but the Mister would probably say Star Wars after much debate because he loves LOTR, too.
  2. I would have them make all my tedious phone calls for me. I hate talking on the phone.
  3. Ummm…. YES! Absolutely!

And now, it’s your turn! If you don’t want to participate, no problem! I’m just glad you’re here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo

  3. Hi Kymber, I’m not a huge fan of LotR’s or Star Wars, but if forced, I would chose LotR’s. I do share a PA with two other colleagues. She does very little for me, but I prefer doing my own stuff. Luckily, the other colleagues do use her more. I’m keeping my smart phone and that is that.

  4. Thank you for sharing!! For number one, I would probably flip a coin,… for number two I would have the PA walk beside me, not follow, and let them do their job and not give orders… for number three, I would keep the phone for it has more options in dealing with and living life than a million dollars (if you gaze upon those that have the wealth, they still have their phones 🙂 )… 🙂

  5. LOTR! I do this all the time anyway.

    I don’t go out anymore but if I did I would probably just have my PA keep people away from me.

    I wouldn’t hesitate to give up owning or using a smart phone forever for a million dollars. I already gave that up over a year ago and I don’t miss it at all. In fact if I ever end up needing a mobile again I’ll probably just get a 90s style flip phone.

  6. Most days, it would probably be LoTR, but I could do Star Wars, sometimes.
    That’s an interesting question. I would have mine go pick up the grocery orders and do the laundry. I guess that would be a “maid,” huh?
    Sure. For a million bucks, I would. As long as I have a phone of some kind. All the apps and stuff I could either live without or figure out a way to do them on the computer.

I guess for me, I’d rather watch a LOTR marathon…for the personal assistant, that’s easy, just bring me coffee and do all my chores like laundry 😆 and then for the final question…sure, as long as I have other means to contact those I love and the outside world lol 😂 good one, Kymber 🩷 thank you! 💰 💵 ☕️

  8. Love these fun Q&A posts, Kymber! 😀 Making phone calls is definitely tedious and it would be great to have someone else to take care of that. Here are my answers:

    1) Neither! Not my thing, but Star Trek – definitely. 😊

    2) I would rather have a housekeeper/cook/gardener than a personal assistant, so could I ask them to do some of those things? 😁

    3) For a million dollars, I think I could adjust. 🔕

  9. 1) Lord of the Rings, just for all that NZ scenery. We have found each successive Star Wars and Lord of the Rings episode to be increasingly based on war and fight scenes, so have to look forward to something.
    2) I can’t imagine having a personal assistant following me around, so I would give them the day off and report back to me on what they had done with their day.
    3) In a heartbeat.

  18. That’s such a hard decision between LoTR or Star Wars. But I’d have to say Star Wars.
    If the personal assistant didn’t do housework I’d have then do all my social media stuff.

  19. 1 A Star Wars marathon. LOTR is too much work.
    2 I would have a personal assistant handle everything that doesn’t involve writing. I mean everything.
    3 I would give up my smart phone for a Million dollars. It would be like getting paid to kick a heron habit.

  23. Q1: I once had a Lord of the Rings marathon getting out of the movie theater at 4:30 AM. So, as I do not want repetition in my life, it would have to be Star Wars.

    Q2: Do all the administrative work and keep annoying people or salespersons away from me.

    Q3: Yes, as long as I can still use a tablet 😊

    My personal assistant would be responsible for catching me in moments I am about to go against my resolutions, jumping in if they could make a difference. So for instance, “I see you are about to watch Love is Blind UK, how about we take a walk with the dog instead, or do some meal prep for next week?”
    If someone offered you a million dollars to give up your smartphone forever, would you do it?
    YES, done.

    —I look at Yoda, who is standing on the left side on top of my monitor. “What a question is this?” he seems to say 🙂

    —I had a butler ones, not by choice but by trade, and asked him to disappear.

    —Yep, I am already doing it for free. I am down to 3 hrs. phone time a week and it’s marvelous. My phone is only a phone, I have a few apps )(bank/fitness/groceries) the rest I deleted a while back. I am not my phones slave and I don’t jump at every ping anymore. Also, I have stopped answering texts from new customers and clients in general. My life is good! It seems I was the smart one all along.

  26. Interesting questions! My answers at the moment (but another time I’d probably change my mind)
    1. Star Wars (I’ve seen both but like space tales better)
    2. Assistant would organize and clean my house, drive me places, and cook, and do chores.
    3. Sure – then I’d go buy another phone with my free money.

  28. LOTR for me too, although i did love the early Star Wars as well.
    Its too crowded on the bus for a PA, but if i had one, she would need to clean up after my husband so i dont have to, keep the bus organized so he can find things, and help me stay on track of what is more important for me to read and write so i dont spend too much time and energy doing just one thing.
    Sure id give up my phone if i could keep my ipad!!

    Tough question, but I’d side with you Kymber and choose The Lord of the Rings. I’m only interested in the old Star Wars episodes anyway, those with Harrison Ford/Han Solo 😉

    Take notes when I suddenly get ideas about stories! And carry water around to keep me hydrated, as I forget to drink! And also take care of everything administrative…

    Yup. I’d still have my iPad, and computers, so who cares?

    1, Lord of the Rings, not much of a tv watcher but this one wins for me.
