Binx and Max are enjoying the back of the couch where they often curl up together. They play hard and they like to wrestle. Usually Binx is on top. They love those little springs you can get for cats, a ball they like chasing, and many other toys.

These boys are so floofy!

I tried to get a picture of Josie-Pye, but she is always on the move, so just when you think you’re getting a perfect pose, she sticks her tail up in the air and then she runs away in a blur. Her tail looks like a question mark. lol

Anyway, it would have been better to include her in this post, but alas, I couldn’t swing it.

Now onto the strange flowers… It’s weird.

When we buried Cesare in the garden, we planned on planting pretty orange flowers, although we hadn’t chosen what kind to go with. We wanted orange because he was our ginger cat.

A few weeks ago, The Mister went outside to work on the garden (it’s in rough shape right now), and he noticed something (please don’t look at our weeds):

Can you even believe it? This is Cesare’s grave! We did not plant those and we’ve lived here for a few years and have never had flowers there!

We don’t know what they are, but we were amazed by their beauty. We had a moment of reflection as we thought about Cesare.

Mom, my sister Kari, my daughter Katy, Bee and I all thought maybe they were poppies? If you know what they are, I’d so appreciate you telling me.

The Mister said a bird probably dropped some seeds there or something. I’d like to think, though, that it was a special miracle to ease the sorrow of Cesare’s passing.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I am looking forward to hearing from you. 🙂

Sidenote: I’ve been asked how to pronounce Cesare’s name. It is pronounced like CHEH-za-reh although I know some people prefer this pronunciation: Sey-SAA-Rey. We actually called him Chezzy, Baby Boy, and Buddy a lot. lol. You can hear Cesare pronounced in Italian here: How to Pronounce Cesare (Italian). ↫

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

  1. Could it be you confined in someone else abut your flower wish and they surreptitiously planted these flowers in your honor? It sounds like a chivalrous act from a man.

    • Well, yes, I imagine so. Many people knew about it. The kids deny it, and so do the neighbors, but that doesn’t rule everyone out. 🙂 I like that thought, thank you. 🌺

  2. lol 😂 Sheldon from “Big Bang” came to mind when I reas that!!! That’s his song his mema sings him when he’s sick!
    Your cats are adorable!!!

  3. The flowers are poppies and maybe Cesare’s way of saying hello. I love poppy flowers and should have a whole border full soon. Happy Thursday Kymber. Allan

    • Poppies are so pretty! Thank you for answering, I really appreciate it. I’d like to think, too, that they are from Cesare. I think having a border of poppies would be beautiful! Happy Thursday, Allan!

  4. Your kittens are SO adorable! 🥰 The flowers in your garden do look like poppies. Has Cesare worked some magic from the great beyond? What a lovely remembrance!

  5. OK KymberNoodle, those flowers over Cesare’s grave are eerie as all get out! 🙀 I think Cesare is letting you know that he is okay and gave you flowers as an indication of his love to comfort you. So heartwarming my friend. Now, as far as that Max and Binx go, I don’t trust them! 😼😹😸 They look adorable when they are snoozing, but I think they are double trouble when they are awake!!! 🤣😜😂

  6. What cuties. Kittens are such a riot, Kymber. And Cesare’s poppies are lovely. You know that poppies are the flowers for Memorial Day when we remember the fallen. How fitting for your sweet cat.

  7. Wow, Binx and Max sound like a dynamic duo! It’s always a challenge getting a good snap of pets in action, isn’t it? Josie-Pye’s tail antics sound adorable, though. As for Cesare’s unexpected flowers, what a touching tribute. They might just be nature’s way of offering a little comfort.

    • Thank you, Claire. 🩷🌺It really is difficult to get pictures of Max and Binx, too, unless they’re sleeping. I’m hoping Josie-Pye’s question mark tail means she is happy. lol I think you’re right about Cesare’s flowers. And it worked, too. Although tears were shed again, we were comforted at the same time.

    • LOL! 🩷🌺😂 Thank you so much for telling me. I’m not much of a gardener. I tend to kill everything I try to grow. My father=in-law, Pat, had such a green thumb. I admire people who can make beautiful gardens. 🩷

  8. Max and Binx are just adorable. And I agree with John – I think Cesare gifted you the flowers to let you know he’s okay and still with you. Bond is a big fan of those springs, and he’s lost his. You just reminded me I need to get some more.

    • Thank you, Teri. 🩷🌺 They are sooo floofy! 😀

That’s a beautiful thing to say, and I appreciate it. I will read all the comments to The Mister. He will love to hear them.

I love that Bond loves the springs, too! LOL They are the bee’s knees according to Binx especially. lol

It’s probably easier to get more, than to move the fridge out to see if they’re under there. LOL I think I would buy more, too. Binx carries them from room to room. 😂🩷🌺😂

  9. Adorable.😍 I wouldn’t care how the flowers got there. The fact they showed up, they could have shown up anywhere. I think with loved ones, things like that happen, letting us know we are forever connected.

    • Thank you. 🩷🌺 Now that’s something to think about. It really did feel like he was there as we admired them and told our favorite stories about him. There are so many wonderful memories.

  10. The kitties are so cute and they look so peaceful when they sleep. Nature put flowers on Cesare’s grave, I suspect it happened when you loosened up the soil and old, dried out seeds got air and water. It’s perfect.

    • I just want to hug and hold them all the time, but they’re sooo active! lol They’ve cleared all our side tables and nightstands in their play. It’s pretty wild around. LOL

Thank you so much. Bee also thought they looked like poppies. I appreciate you telling me that. 🙂
