Welcome to the Stoneshields, specifically, Fortress Rock! Here is the description, Quailhogs, the creator of this world uses to describe it:
“Fortress Rock is a fictional series of islands as part of the Isles of Shoals off the coast of New Hampshire. Such is divided into five different districts, all of them featuring an extensive history behind them. Fortress Rock shares a name with the first world that I created, so bad that it wasn’t worth uploading or even showing. However, the only thing it seems to have in common with its predecessor is the general landscape, which was not really intended to look realistic, yet almost monstrous. The set of islands gained their name from the rugged facade created by the unusual rock formations that barricaded land, a natural fortress they called it (don’t ask whom I mean by “they”).
Twenty-five years later, Fortress Rock has been renamed as “The Stoneshields” or “Stoneshield Isles.” With the addition of Seasons, the snowbanks are gone and the frost has melted from the rocks (replaced with moss). New Hades and Amberwood have changed the most over the years. There have also been major changes to Thornshire’s landscape and some subtle renovations to the Downtown District and Dust Creek. Even the townspeople are different. The young adults from Fortress Rock have aged, most of them less self-indulged, while they have children of their own to disappoint them1.”
Hello, kind friends! I’m so glad you’re here. Today, we are taking a mostly aerial tour of the Stoneshields! Our characters now live in Fortress Rock.
That’s their building up above, the one on the far left. The middle building is a duplex and the right building is owned by a family they haven’t met yet.
It’s a nice neighborhood and the building behind them is the high school.
I think this has always been my favorite world to play because of the Gothic flair and the Autumnesque (there we go again with that word! lol) feel. There is public transit by subway, and all the amenities are close by.
The reason the story, “Old Stone,” has moved to this world is because the previous world, St. Claire, is lost to me. Every download I’ve found of it has something wrong with it. So, when I lost my files, I lost St. Claire. There is a reason in my story (coming at you Saturday!) why they’ve moved. And this post is just a little tour.
I love the apartment building here with the circular drive. These apartments are lush and expensive, but if you have enough simoleons, your sims should give it a try.
You can use the hidden room cheat to remove all the hidden rooms if you want more apartments to decorate.
HINT REGARDING HIDDEN ROOM CHEATS! This is how to place a hidden room, but you use the same cheats in order to find the hidden rooms and remove them.
- Open the cheat window by typing
ctrl + shift + C
and type intestingcheatsenabled true
. - Retype
ctrl + shift + C
and type inbuydebug on
. - Go into buy mode > Sort by Function > Debug (the question mark icon) > Misc. Objects.
- Find the item that looks like a silver ball and named the “Hidden Room Marker”.
- Place the item anywhere in the room that you want to stay hidden2.
Three or four blocks from their building is the park. It’s beautiful and peaceful. Erin Rose spends a lot of time here. When asked where she’d been, she would only smile to herself and say, “Oh, nowhere.” She needs a lot of peace and still isn’t very comfortable with city living. Fortress Rock is way bigger than St. Claire.
This river separates the upper class from the cheaper houses. They used to be cute little cottages until they fell into disrepair. People from Donita’s station in life would never think to visit this area. They would instead pretend it isn’t there.
Perhaps soon, Donita might be interested in building them back up. You never know.
At the very top of the highest peak, lives Daniel Quailhogs. This is what Quailhogs, Daniel’s creator, has to say about him:
“Daniel is a lonesome man who lives with his thrall/butler, Vincent, in an old house at the edge of the slums. While he is clearly an unsavory character, Daniel himself is rarely linked to any crime that takes place within Fortress Rock. Daniel pinned his first sixteen murders on his older brother, but his scapegoat eventually slipped away. Regardless, the murder rate in Fortress Rock remains remarkably high, specifically among pretty brunette women3.“
Here is the bridge Andy and Erin must cross for their university classes. Luckily, moving to Fortress Rock did not mean they had to change schools or friends.
Here is the White House. Actually, in “Noble Doubt,” I called it the Off-White House! LOLOLOL You may remember when Rosetta Sprague was the Leader of the Free World. We’re not to that point yet in my “Old Stone” timeline, but you never know when you’ll hear of or see a character from “Noble Doubt.”
This is the old bridge that was first built on the island. Goods aren’t shipped through here anymore, but I’m of the opinion there may be some criminal activity around there.
And here we are at Donita’s building where she, Andy (her son), and Erin live.
This duplex is to the right of their building.
Erin has noticed this old orb in the front garden which she might explore further in the future.
This is Mrs. So and So. That is what Donita and the family call this old stone figure of an older woman with a cane. She has been there so long, no one remembers who she was.
This is the back of the house. There is a little BBQ area as well as a table with umbrella. And the garage which is the smaller building on the right.
Here is the back door of the residence. If parking in the garage, they like to enter here instead of walking around to the front.
Erin’s friend Karissa exclaimed when she saw this light, “You have a boob light, Erin!”
This concerned Erin very much as she didn’t see what made this a “boob lamp.” She remembered a lot of houses she’d been in where lights a lot like this one had been installed.
Karissa told her she’d get it when she grew up. She advised her, in the meantime, to tell Donita to replace it. Erin would think about it. She didn’t want any of her friends to see her family had a “boob light” in their kitchen.
From the kitchen, one enters the dining room. Nothing exciting to see here.
From the dining room, thee is a little place by the fireplace to sit and chat a while.
The front entry.
And the living room.
Stairs and bathroom door.
I don’t reckon you want to see the upper floors at the moment because they are still under construction.
This is the layout of the first floor.
If this house and world look familiar, it is because you saw them in “Noble Doubt” way back in Generation 5 where Holden was a ballet dancer, and the heir, and his twin sister, Rosetta, was climbing the political ladder.

Great tour!!! Love this house girlie and the people you created.
I just love the back stories that EA comes up with the sims in a town and they are fun to read. The person who created this world, has a fabulous imagination! Daniel Quailhogs sounds terrifying. I kept thinking, who is living in the house below him and is anyone there a brunette?
Boob light! Don’t we all have at least one of those in our house!! lol
Finally I wanted to thank you for the cheat process for hidden rooms. I had no idea that existed. Oh the fun to have from now on!
Thank you so much, Bee. Quailhogs really inspires me to create. I have played most of his worlds. I also like the one called, Gray Meadow. His backstories are amazing.
That brunette might be a cold case. I’ll find out! lol
Yes, I think we’re all probably rocking a boob light in our homes. haha 😀
I love that cheat a lot because if you are playing an apartment or duplex, etc., usually just one of the apartment are decorated. If you remove the silver ball from the other apartments, you can design those too. Sometimes, for story purposes, I have a family in the main apartment, then I’ll remove the hidden room marker and move some of my sims there, too. But I can control them all, because all the sims are in my household.
When Jem and Bea were living next door to each other, I had to remove the hidden room marker so I could have Jem live in the other side.
I hope that made sense. Anyway, I think you messaged me, so I’m heading there now. 🙂 🩷 🌺
I want to live in that house! Love the layout and the tour!
Thank you so much! I want to live there, too. 😀
This is fun, Kymber. You created a world and all and everyone in it. You have a great imagination. Now, where will all this take you?
Well, a guy I only know as Quailhogs made the world. I downloaded it to my game and made it mine. lol
On Saturday, I hope to have Old Stone Chapter 12! A lot of things have changed for Erin, things she does not even know yet! 😀 😀
Looks like a great new home, although New Hades seems to have some subtle overtones, based on it name. What could they be? Happy Wednesday Kymber. Allan
lol I know, right? Maybe that’s part of the criminal presence I sense. 😀 Happy Wednesday, Allan!
I can hear the builder’s ad right now….New Hades – a Hell of a good place to live. 😁
LOLOL That’s about right! 😀 😂
Wow, Fortress Rock (now Stoneshields) sounds fascinating! I love how it combines a Gothic flair with an evolving landscape and history. The whole setup feels so immersive, especially with all the unique characters and storylines you’ve incorporated. I’m looking forward to exploring the different districts and seeing how the story unfolds. Thanks Kymber for sharing this tour!
I’m so pleased you liked the tour. 🙂 It is true that it’s immersive. It’s almost like a doll house but on a bigger scale. You can tear buildings down to create your own, decorate (my favorite), and create sims (my other favorite) for use in the world, or use existing families already there. The possibilities are really endless.
Wow, this world is really involved! I’m impressed by folks who can put together a world like this, where users can get immersed in it. I can see why you put characters in there 🌞
Thank you, Dave. I’m so impressed at their creations, too. 🙂 It seems like the perfect place to settle into.
The worlds you are creating with Sims are so fascinating. I wish there was a way of putting your stories in books and add some sims pictures.
I wish there was, too, Thomas. I would have to work out something with EA who owns The Sims games, and I’m not sure that is possible.
I’m so glad you find it fascinating. It’s so much fun.
The new world looks lovely, excited to see the Old Stone characters settle in there!
Thank you so much! I am so happy you saw this and feel optimistic about the future of Old Stone. xo
It’s amazing how much effort goes into building these worlds.
Thank you, Jacqui. 🩷🌺 I admire Quailhogs so much in creating the world. It is so much fun to see what it’s all about and then tweak things here and there to make it your own, 🙂
Sweet upgrades KymberNoodle! 💖 New lives, new locations, new looks, and a new Daniel Quailhogs…the next chapter! Sims the word!!! 😜
Thank you so much, ChickiePotPie! Right on! 🩷🌺
Oh my dear KymberNoodle, it is always my pleasure and you are soooooo very welcome ladybug! 🥰🏦😍
Sounds and looks like an interesting story.
Thank you so much. Saturday will be Chapter 12, but even if you haven’t read any of the previous chapters, I think you will still know what is going on because it’s a new beginning for the family, and I plan on catching the readers up at the beginning of Chapter 12. 🙂
It looks awesome, Kymber.. until Sat!! Nice job👏💗
Thank you so much, Cindy! Your encouragement means a lot. 🩷🌺
So sorry that you lost St. Claire, and I’m really looking forward to getting to know Fortress Rock–looks amazing! (Nice to have familiar buildings there, too!)
Thank you, CT. I can’t wait to continue this story. 🩷🌺 I hope you like it.
🌞 Awesome meeting your Sims Kymber! They sound like a great bunch! What a house!! I can tell you spend a lot of time creating the perfect atmosphere for them to live in too!
Thank you so much, Lorrie. Chapter 12 is a new start and I can’t wait for you to see! 🩷🌺
