Hello, kind friends! I have greatly enjoyed your responses to my Get to Know You posts!
So, it’s time. Come sit on my porch for a spell. Tea, lemonade and refreshments will be served shortly.
Here are 3 questions! Let’s go!
Here is round #28:
- If you could take one prop from any movie set, what would it be?
- Would you rather spend a weekend in a tropical paradise or a snow haven?
- What are you reading right now?
Here are my answers:
- Uh, Dorothy’s ruby slippers, of course. Some years ago, one of the known pairs was stolen, and all my friends looked to me. I told them it was the Wicked Witch of the North, obviously! lol
- I’d say I need a long weekend in a tropical paradise, preferably by the pool.
- I just started The Haunting of Ashburn House by Darcy Coates.
And now, itβs your turn!Β If you donβt want to participate, no problem! Iβm just glad youβre here. A hello would be fantastic, though! Of course, lurkers are always heartily welcome, too. xo
Incidentally, if you would like to see some Judy Garland, you can check out my Tumblr blog dedicated to her called, “Dear Joots, I Adore You!”
Tomorrow (Wednesday), I will be away all day as The Mister and I celebrate our wedding anniversary. πβ€οΈπ«ΆππΉ

Gandalf’s Hat
I kinda live in one now, SE Queensland, Australia π
Embassytown by China Mieville and The Philosopher’s Secret Fire: a history of the Imagination by Patrick Harpur
Oh yes, Gandalf’s hat would be wonderful!
That’s so cool!
Those sound like good reads.
Thank you so much for playing, Tony! Your answers were great! πΊ
As I started to write some quip thing, my Samurai Siamese cat, SaMi, walked across the keybord. Some gibberish was written, maybe a love sonnet to Josie-Pye? I really though he would hit send and then we could laugh about it all afternoon! But alas, he came into my arms and put his head on my chest, both arms wrapped my neck. I think I am his momma lovie LOL. So to go on with the response,
I would take a seat beside kagould17 in the Landcruiser.
I would def take the snow haven, we just moved to one π
And I started a Bible study with my bff and it’s really interesting.
Watching MONK, yet again… Thanks for the fun!
I love that it might have been a love sonnet to Josie-Pye. πΊπ©·πΊπ©· She likes walking across my keyboard as well. I love how much SaMi loves you. Sooo sweet!
The Land cruiser sounds like a good idea. π
Such a lovely thing to begin a Bible study with your bestie. That’s awesome.
I love Monk so much! lol I should rewatch them, too. When it was running on Friday nights, our whole family would get together to have a Monk party. Mom and I also read all the books. πΊπ©·
Thank you so much for playing!
I’ll meet you in tropical paradise! The ruby slippers are a great find, I didn’t think of that. Maybe I’d go for ET or something, it’s nostalgic for me, although I don’t know if I really want to look at that every day, he’s not so handsome π
Right on! That would be so fun! πΊLOLOLOL In the show “Resident Alien,” the alien (who is pretending to be human but has no human qualities) calls ET a “sexy potato.” lolololπ
OK from an alien’s point of view… haha!
LOL! π
… 1. Buddy’s sword from Six String Samurai. 2. Definitely a tropical paradise. 3. The Public Burning.
Thank you so much for playing! I appreciate it!
You’re more than welcome! These are always a lot of fun!
Awesome! πΊ
I never really even thought about cars as props. But now that bysllewellyn opened that can, perhaps I might consider the 1971 Dodge Challenger from the road film Vanishing Point, or one of James Bondβs Aston Martins. π
More great choices! Reading all of these answers, I’m amazed at the creativity! π Those would be great to have, for sure. πΊ
f you could take one prop from any movie set, what would it be? – Surfboard From “Apocalypse Now” —
Would you rather spend a weekend in a tropical paradise or a snow haven? “Can I do a beach on a snowy haven?”
What are you reading right now? “The White Lioness” – Henning Mankell
Thank you so much for playing! I hope you had fun! πΊ
I did! Thanks for letting me play! The Ruby Red Slippers also came to my mind first. But Then I thought that they might clash with my peep-toe dβOrsay platform heels Dr. Frankenfarter wore in Rocky Horror Picture Show.
LOLOLOL yes, I’d say it’s one or the other. I forgot about the Rocky Horror Picture Show! lol There are so many props from that movie I’d like. π
It’s fun to get to know you, Kymber. Can I join you at the pool?
Heck, yeah! I already have a spot with two loungers, a huge umbrella, and drinks! πΊπ©·
I liked your response for the first question. Iβm probably in the minority, but Iβd pick the snow over the tropics. As for what Iβm reading, a bunch of childrenβs books with my curious daughter.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked my answer. π
I think the snow haven sounds like a cozy, nice time.
That’s wonderful how much you read to your daughter. You are creating lasting memories, and a love for books that is a bond between you. π©·
Thank you so much for playing! I loved your answers!πΊ
1) A land speeder from Star Wars. Imagine skimming across the landscape without a road.
2) I don’t do heat well, so a snowy wonderland just might work. Skiing and hiking in the cool.
3) Oh, I have so much else going on right now, I have to say I am still reading Diana Gabaldon’s 2nd last book in the Outlander series…Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.
Happy Sunday Kymber. Allan
Hi, Allan!
1) That would be so cool! Great choice!
2) I think that sounds like a lot of fun!
3) That’s awesome! You are so far along!
Happy Sunday to you, too, Allan. πΊπ©·
Hi Kymber, I enjoy these posts. When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a dancing red devil. I’m sure there is one in some or other movie so I’d take the devil’s fork. I think I’d take a snow haven. Although I am a summer person we have dry heat here. Boiling hot humid weather isn’t for me. You can put clothes on but you can’t take off your skin – haha! I’m reading The Delta Pearl by Teagan Geneviene.
Hi, Robbie! I’m glad you enjoy these posts. I enjoy reading all the answers. π
Ooooh, that is awesome! Let’s find you that fork!
Snow haven it is! I dislike humid, hot weather, too. That’s the kind of summer heat we have. The air just feels so heavy. LOL At putting your clothes on but you can’t take your skin off. That sounds like a story I’d read. LOLOL π
Wow! I bet that is an awesome book! Teagan is such a good writer. I’d like to read that one, too.
Thank you so much for playing! πΊ
My pleasure. Keep these posts coming π
All righty! π πΊ
I think I need a light saber. Probably Mace Windu’s since I’m a purple fan.
Tropical paradise with a loaded Kindle and a beach umbrella.
I’m reading Court of Wanderers by Rin Chupeco.
Woot! Yes, a light saber! I would definitely go for purple, too. π
Yessssss, girl! And the little umbrella in the drink, too. lol
That sounds really interesting. I am going to look it up!
Thank you so much for playing, Teri. πΊπ©· Have a happy weekend!
If you could take one prop from any movie set, what would it be?
Would you rather spend a weekend in a tropical paradise or a snow haven?
What are you reading right now?
I would take the ring from the lord of the lord of the rings trilogy! Gotta have the precious! lol.
I would rather spend a weekend at a tropical paradise! π― Iβm like Elsa but for the heat. The heat never bothered me any way!
Iβm reading the work of other bloggers! I love visiting other blogs!
Ooooh, yes, the precious! Wouldn’t that be something? lol
Meeee, too. I need me the tropics! lol The opposite of Elsa! haha That’s fun!
I’m so glad you visited this blog. I think I followed your amazing blog! If not, I will be doing that soon. But I think I did. LOL I love visiting blogs, too.
Thank you so much for playing my game! πΊπ©·
Kymber, you made a good choice with taking those ruby slippers. I can still see the Wicked Witch melting after Dorothy threw water on her. Here are my three choices:
Movie prop: the broken bat from the film, “The Natural,” with Robert Redford. The bat was broken in Roy Hobbs’ final at bat, but he still hit the game-winning hit with a borrowed bat.
Weekend location: Definitely a place with snow and a fireplace. Being from Montana, I still enjoy the snow even though I now live in Ohio.
Last of all: one of my daughters just sent me a book, Life After Power, by Jared Cohen. He studies the post-Presidency years of seven of America’s Presidents.
Thank you! I’ve had my eye on those ruby slippers for many years. The only pair I’ve seen in person was at The Smithsonian in D.C. I love that moment in the movie! π
I love your choice of the broken bat from The Natural. That’s so nice.
To the snow haven it is! I have cousins in Montana. π I can see why you might want to visit.
That sounds like an interesting book! I hope you enjoy it. πΊπ©·
Thank you so much for playing!
Happy Anniversary!
Great answers, Kymber.
My answers:
1. The invincible cloak “Harry Potter”
2. Always the opposite of the weather right now. Snow sounds pretty good as we are sweating π
3.”Momo” Michael Ende
invisible not invincible sorry oh well perhaps it’s both
LOL I knew what you meant.πΊπ©·
Happy anniversary, Kymber! Your questions are fun, and I like your answer to the first question β about the reaction of your friends to the news of the ruby slippers being stolen (and itβs a horrible person who would steal those!!). My answers:
1. An X-Wing fighter model from βStar Wars.β The kid in me would melt over that.
2. Tropical paradise! I loooove the ocean.
3. βInvisible Manβ by Ralph Ellison. Powerful writing.
Thank you, Dave! We had a wonderful day! I’m glad you like the questions. LOL It was so funny when it happened. I’m happy you liked my answer for that one. π
I thought your answers were great! Thank yo u for playing!
I’m reading Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson and Curvy Girl Summer by Danielle Allen.
Those sound really interesting! I’m going to look them up and see if I’d like to read them! Thank you for playing! πΊπ©·
1) Light saber
2) Tropical paradise
3) Stephen King βBag of Bonesβ
Really cool answers, Darryl I’m so glad you played! πΊ
https://melissalemay.wordpress.com/2024/06/18/get-to-know-you-28/
Thank you for playing, Melissa! Loved your answers!
If you could take one prop from any movie set, what would it be?
Hmmm… That’s tougher than I thought, so I’ll go with my gut reaction: the tape recorder disguised as a camera from From Russia with Love.
Would you rather spend a weekend in a tropical paradise or a snow haven?
I suppose a snow haven. Either way, I’d rather be on a cruise.
What are you reading right now?
The Enigma of Room 622 by JoΓ«l Dicker
I think that is a great answer! That would be so cool to have!
Oh, yes, me, too. We’ve only been on a cruise once, but we had so much fun!
That sounds like a good book!
Thank you so much for playing! πΊ
Right now I’m reading your post, and enjoying all the comments!
Hiya, Ana! So nice to see you.π©· I really enjoy how creative the answers are. πΊ
Hmmm…
1) Norma Desmond’s Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A (Don’t freak out. I had to look it up), but I love that car in Sunset Boulevard. Fun fact from Wikipedia. All gold-plated.” The “Sunset car” has been on display at Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile in Italy since 1972. Gloria Swanson’s character Norma Desmond’s initials are on the rear doors of the car.
2) Def tropical!
3) And I’ve got a few books going on my Kindle, and the one I’ll probably finish first is A Brighter Darker Art by Halli Starling.
And happy anniversary! π
LOL Thank you so much! πΊ
1) Wow! That sounds like something else! π I love movie trivia so it was so nice to see some. π
2) Yeeeeesssssssss! I’m with you on that!
3) That sounds interesting. I will look it up.
Thank you so much for playing! I really enjoyed your answers.πΊπ©·
So fun! π€©

The elder wand (hahaha) … I heard about Dorothy’s red sparkle slippers, but I promise, I don’t have them π (lol)! Happy Anniversary Kymber <3 … wish you the best extravaganza ever !!! and many more π
The Elder Wand! Awesome prop, for sure!
LOL I’m glad you’re not hiding those slippers. I still say it was the witch of the west! lol πΊπ©·
Thank you so much for your anniversary wishes. That’s so kind of you. π
Oooh Ruby slippers would be cool to have. I agree with the tropical vacation, too.
Let’s see, my prop from a movie would have to be the time machine from the movie. I wonder if it would work? I’m on the last book of the Maze Runner which is The Fever Code. Probably the third or 4th time to read this series it is so good. π
Yes, let’s take the ruby slippers and flee to the Caribbean!π
That’s a good one, the time machine. I would like to think it would work, and you would see amazing things.
I haven’t read those but one of my sisters did, and so did my son. They really liked them a lot, too.πΊπ©·
I literally live in a tropical paradise, so snow vacation it is!! And I just wanted to say, Happy Anniversary, Kymber! π I so hope you have a wonderful time with your Mister π did yβall go camping yet? Either way, enjoy!
I’ll bring my sled and ice skates! π
Thank you so much for your anniversary wish.
I wish!! We haven’t been able yet, but we will. π
Thank you again. I hope you’re doing okay in the heat.πΊπ©·
Wishing you a wonderful wedding anniversary..ππ May you both have a blissful blessed life ahead..β€π«βπ π§Ώ

That’s so very cute, like really really wonderful to know..Stay blessed..πππ«
You, too. Many blessings to you. πΊπ©·
Thank you so much..πΊ
Don’t tell me you also like dorothy perkins, if that’s what you meant by dorothy or I am just lame about styles and brands..ππ
Dorothy Perkins is amazing! My Dorothy is Dorothy Gale from The Wizard of Oz. π I first saw it when I was 2 years old while visiting my Grandma and I’ve never missed my yearly viewing since. πΊπ©· P.S. You couldn’t be lame if you tried. xoxo
That’s really cool.. and thanks for being kind..πππ« xoxo
Of course. πΊ No meanies are allowed around here. π πΊπ©· xo

Oooooh! Thank you, Alice! I’ll head there now!πΊπ©·
Hello! πββοΈ
Movie prop? I canβt really think of one.
Tropical or Snow, well I hate snow so that leaves tropical.
Iβm reading an ARC called At Night They Played in the Road by prolific and wonderful writer, Chantelle Atkins.
Hi, Karen! Great to see you! πΊπ©·
No worries. I knew mine immediately because I’ve wanted them since I was like 2 years old. haha
Tropical is good!
Now that sounds awesome! Happy reading!
Thank you so much for playing!
Thanks!
the painting of Harvey & Elwood from Harvey
Snow, snow and snow (any excuse to drink hot chocolate)
Charlie Chaplin and A Woman of Paris: … a Misunderstood Masterpiece by Wes D. Gehring
It’s so funny to me that you bring up Harvey. LOL When I was little I had 2 goldfish and my dad named them Beatrice Minerva and Elwood P. LOL
Right on about hot chocolate! I’m with you on that!
Sounds like an interesting book!
Thank you so much for playing. I enjoyed your answers. πΊ
Blackulas Cape
Tropical all the way..i mean i don’t like 100Β° humid weather BUT i hate cold snow and ice even more
Live from New York: An uncensored history of SNL I am in the process of reading (this edition is from 2014 but it’s still pretty cool)
Blackulas cape! That would be great! I’m with you regarding the weather! I just want to be near the ocean or a pool. lol That sounds like a great book!
Thank you, Matt, for playing! πΊ
Np π
Kymber, for #2 I’d always take that snow haven. And at this time of year here, I think of it early and often lol. Happy anniversary to you and The Mister!
Hi, Bruce! LOL I think you’d have fun at the snow haven! π
Thank you, that’s so kind! πΊ
Good Morning and Happy and Blessed, umm, what’s today π€ͺ, oh yes, Happy Tuesday.
So, 1) A Prop, Definitely a Light Saber from Star Wars or The Bow and Arrow from Hawkeye (The Avengers)
2) Bring on the Heat. Definitely a tropical paradise. Take me to Puerto Rico or Hawaii.
3) Besides reading the Bible, I am revisiting my book, “The Latter Times of Being Crazy For Christ” (no, Iβm not trying to self-promote ππ). I’m in the process of rewriting it and adding it to WordPress with images, so I find myself reading it over. This also helps me see how much my writing is improving. Additionally, Iβm reading “Hood” by Stephen R. Lawhead.
Good day, Willie! Happy Tuesday to you. π
1) Those would be awesome props to have!
2) Yes, those destinations are sure to be fun1
3) That’s wonderful! I should rewrite mine, maybe but I just don’t have it in me right now. I’m looking forward to your finished work.
Thank you so much for playing!
Q1: Blade Runner: Deckard’s Ammo Box and Blaster Bullets.
Q2: Snow haven. Give me the cold any day. I love it.
Q3: “The sunken land begins to rise again” by M. John Harrison. Quote The Guardian:”Harrison is fabulously alert to the spaces between things in this novel of collapsing certainties in a haunted England.” It’s a rich novel, glorious language, unsettling in many ways and 80 per cent of the time I have no clue what the plot is about π
Happy anniversary π Have a marvellous day π
Q1: My Mister thinks that answer is awesome! He’s actually watching Dune 2 right now, so I told him your answer.
Q2: Sounds like you would have fun in a snow haven. π
Q3: LOL That actually sounds pretty epic. π
Great answers! Thank you so much for playing.
You’re welcome Kymber π
Great! My post about this will go live on Saturday.
Wonderful! I can’t wait! πΊπ©·
That’s funny that everyone looked at you! I wonder if they ever turned up.
LOL It was funny. I don’t remember but I kind of think they did.
Alright Dorothy, go on and click your heels three times!!! ππ π€ Happy Anniversary to you ChickieNoodle! π°πΌππ€΅πΌ I enjoyed “lurking” around! LOL π Hugs and smooches! π
Right on, Chickie!! Thank you. I’m not privy to the plans, but I’m not worried because The Mister is pretty good at handling that. π You lurk, girl, if you want to, but I’m so happy you said hi! πΊπ©·Hugs and smooches to you, too!
Awwww, thanks a million my KymberNoodle! π I know your anniversary celebration is going to be a blast! π°πΌπππ₯π€΅πΌ Cheers girlfriend and enjoy the ride!
Thank you so much, ChickiePotPie! I’m taking your advice!πΊπ©·
Whooooohoooooo! Yeah baby!!! ππ₯π
Hugs and smooches! Hope you’re having a fantabulous day!

Thank you so much, Chickie. xoxo
Dorothyβs slippers was the first thing to come to my mind too, but only if they worked magic like they did for her because thenβ¦
I could be transported to my tropical destination, drink in hand, toes in sand!
I’m reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn! I’ve seen the movie but never read the book. π
LOL It does sound as if you need the slippers. too. I’m with you with drink in hand, toes in sand! lol
I’ve seen the movie but haven’t read the book. How are you finding it?
P.S. Thanks for playing!
Its good so far, it has been showing the story through his eyes and hers .
That does sound nice. π
