Hello, kind friends. It grieves me deeply to write this post, but it is something I must do.
On February 28, Cesare had a veterinarian appointment to assess his deteriorating condition. Despite the medications, he was in a rapid decline, which alarmed us.
Unfortunately, we were informed that he was too ill to recover and that because of his suffering, we had a difficult decision to make.
After answering all our questions which were our last hopes, we reluctantly decided the doctor was right.
Cesare looked at us with such love and trust as we cuddled him, and told him how important he was to us.
It is the most difficult circumstance either The Mistor or I have encountered. We love Cesare so much.
And that is why we put him to sleep.
We are gutted by this, but we know it is what was best for him.
This site is so much about him. He is around every corner you turn here. I will continue posting because I have had things scheduled and I don’t want to go through the process of canceling everything. If I haven’t responded to your comments, please know, I still appreciate them. I hope to get to them, but I’m just so sad right now.
Comments on this post will be closed, but I encourage you to pray for us and send us good vibes. The Mister, the Kids, and the Littles were all very close to our Little Buddy. Please don’t forget his little sister Josie-Pye. She has been wandering around the house, meowing loudly as if she is looking for him.
We buried him Friday, March 1 with his favorite blanket, pillow, and fishy toy. In Spring, we will plant flowers there and put a marker to commemorate his life.
We adopted him as an adult, so we don’t know exactly how old he was. They told us at the time, he was 2 or 3. The Mister and I always celebrated his birthday on Valentine’s Day because he was such a velcro cat, always wanting to be with his people for hugs and kisses.
We miss you, Cesare. You will always be the one and only Chief of Cheesy Writing, and whenever I enjoy the sun shining, I’ll think of you.
You will never be forgotten. xo
