In Belize (2010), we took a hike through the jungle so we could explore some caves. It was raining but we didn’t get wet because of the overhead foliage in the jungle.
Here are some pictures from that trip.
We heard a lot of Howler Monkeys, and it was both a frightening but extremely exciting experience!
In the caves:
Hope you’re staying warm, Kind Friends!

Thank you so much. I’m glad you liked the photos. 🙂 ❤
Hmmm, this is so weird because I know I posted a comment to this blogpost. I don’t remember what I wrote, but nevermind. 😝 I still enjoyed your pictorial tour through Belize ChickieDee! Hugs and smooches all day long! 🤗🦋🥳💖🥰
That is so strange, but with the way I know WordPress to be, I believe you. LOL 😀 I’m so glad you enjoyed the photos. 😀 Sending you hugs and smooches, too! xoxo
🤗💖🥳💗😍
Those pics are gorgeous, Kymber! What a trip that must have been.
Thank you, Teri. 🙂 It is something I’d like to do again sometime.
So cool, Kymber! Are the monkeys dangerous?
From what I understand, they’re not particularly aggressive. What scared me more was our guide pointing out a specific tree and explaining to us that it’s poisonous, so “do not touch it!” lol The bark had this black substance on it. I do not know if it was some kind of sap or what. I steered clear. lol
Then, the guide pointed out another tree, almost next to the poisonous one and told us that one held the antidote.
Oh, wow. I’m almost scared to ask how they discovered this!
It’s crazy, right? The Mister reminded me that the Guide had said that the Mayans would, upon capturing their enemies, cut their backs, then tie them to the poisonous trees. I can’t even imagine. I’m pretty sure (and I told The Mister this) I blocked that out of my mind. lol
Vicious warriors, weren’t they? lol
LOL For sure. 😀
They look extremely scary to me. I think I would freeze in place if one stared at me in that manner!
Hey, Bee. 😀 So, I read the room wrong… or rather, I read the jungle wrong. I didn’t realize he looked scary. To me, he looked so cute. LOLOLOL I need you around at times like that so I never have to find out if a monkey is going to attack me or not. hahaha 😀
What a beautiful place to explore. It’s on my bucket list.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. ♥
I hope you get to cross this off your bucket list soon! 😀 And, thank you. I hope you have a fabulous day and rest of the week, too. ♥♥
Belize is on the list. From these pictures, it may have moved up a notch or two.
LOL I hope you enjoy your future trip. 🙂
Interesting shots. L:eaving for a warm destination in the middle of a cold winter is great, but coming back, not so much. Happy Wednesday. Allan
LOL Coming back is difficult when you know you have snow and gray skies waiting. 😀
Oh! And I meant to say “Happy Wednesday” to you, too, Allan. Thank you.
Stunning photos, Kymber!
Thank you, Eugi. 🙂
You’re welcome, Kymber.
Quite an adventure — the caves frighten me more than howler monkeys. Hope you had an experienced guide.
Thank you, Mike. 😀 We had lights on our helmets, but it was still kind of freaky. lol One thing, it was nice and cool in them as opposed to the heavy air of the jungle. All in all, it was great fun.
Once dove the blue hole off of Belize, but didn’t spend any time exploring the jungle. Thanks for sharing your pictures!
I think what you did sounds amazing!
The depth of the rim of the marine sinkhole called the “blue hole” is pretty near the maximum depth for certified sport divers. So one can only get into the hole by a few feet. It is still an interesting dive .
Oh, yes, I’m sure it is. It sounds beautiful.
Belize looks like a great adventure. Amazing caves and beach.
Thank you. It was wonderful. 🙂
Nice photos.
Thank you so much. 🙂
The photos are beautiful my dear friend. I need a tropical place today.
Thank you so much, dear friend. I need that today, too. lol
You are welcome dear Kymber.
It looks and sounds magical, Kymber. Thanks for letting us join you. Hugs.
Thank you, Teagan. I agree, it was magical. Wish I could go back. 🙂 Hugs.
The caves look like they were very interesting. Thanks for sharing Kymber.
Yes, they were very interesting, John. They were nice and cool, too. The jungle was hot and humid, so the caves felt nice.
I have never been there so those photos were at treat. BTW is that you smooching on the beach?
LOL Thank you. No, that’s not me. That’s from Pexels. I wish we’d thought to get a pic like that, though.
😊
I got to go to Belize on one of my two cruises, but your experience is the one I would have preferred. We went to the zoo and a natural pool. Not what I envisioned at all. Love your pictures!
Thank you so much, Kim. I wish you’d had a better time. 🙂
Cruises and resorts tend to offer experiences so completely sanitized, homogenized and insured that one might as well not have left home.
Yes, and they want big bucks for it too!
Thanks for your comment!
Ginormous! 🤣
Thanks for another virtual vacation 🙂 Those caves look really neat!
You’re so welcome, Dave! They were great to explore. 🙂
amazing and so lovely your captures….the place looks like an adventure waiting to be explored lol…
thank you for sharing, Kymber 🤍
Thank you so much. It was definitely an adventure for us. 😀
my pleasure 🤍✨
So beautiful! You are an amazing photographer!
Awww thanks. That’s so sweet. 🙂
Beautiful photography. Great memories. The first picture, showing the couple on the beach. I hope that’s you.
Thank you so much. 🙂 No, that’s a pic I pulled off of Pixabay to use for my featured photo. I sure wish we had thought to get a pic of us like that. It was such a lovely trip.
Oops, sorry. I misspoke. It is from Pexels.com. 🙂
Your pics are out of this world Kymber – well done and thanks a mil for sharing.
Thank you so much, Peter James. I really appreciate you telling me. 🙂
Beautiful pictures, Kymber.
Thank you so much, Jacqui. I’m glad you like them. 🙂
