Let’s Go to Belize!

In Belize (2010), we took a hike through the jungle so we could explore some caves. It was raining but we didn’t get wet because of the overhead foliage in the jungle.

Here are some pictures from that trip.

We heard a lot of Howler Monkeys, and it was both a frightening but extremely exciting experience!

  1. Hmmm, this is so weird because I know I posted a comment to this blogpost. I don’t remember what I wrote, but nevermind. 😝 I still enjoyed your pictorial tour through Belize ChickieDee! Hugs and smooches all day long! 🤗🦋🥳💖🥰

    1. That is so strange, but with the way I know WordPress to be, I believe you. LOL 😀 I’m so glad you enjoyed the photos. 😀 Sending you hugs and smooches, too! xoxo

    1. From what I understand, they’re not particularly aggressive. What scared me more was our guide pointing out a specific tree and explaining to us that it’s poisonous, so “do not touch it!” lol The bark had this black substance on it. I do not know if it was some kind of sap or what. I steered clear. lol

Then, the guide pointed out another tree, almost next to the poisonous one and told us that one held the antidote.

        1. It’s crazy, right? The Mister reminded me that the Guide had said that the Mayans would, upon capturing their enemies, cut their backs, then tie them to the poisonous trees. I can’t even imagine. I’m pretty sure (and I told The Mister this) I blocked that out of my mind. lol

      1. Hey, Bee. 😀 So, I read the room wrong… or rather, I read the jungle wrong. I didn’t realize he looked scary. To me, he looked so cute. LOLOLOL I need you around at times like that so I never have to find out if a monkey is going to attack me or not. hahaha 😀

  2. Interesting shots. L:eaving for a warm destination in the middle of a cold winter is great, but coming back, not so much. Happy Wednesday. Allan

    1. Thank you, Mike. 😀 We had lights on our helmets, but it was still kind of freaky. lol One thing, it was nice and cool in them as opposed to the heavy air of the jungle. All in all, it was great fun.

  3. Once dove the blue hole off of Belize, but didn’t spend any time exploring the jungle. Thanks for sharing your pictures!

      1. The depth of the rim of the marine sinkhole called the “blue hole” is pretty near the maximum depth for certified sport divers. So one can only get into the hole by a few feet. It is still an interesting dive .

  4. I got to go to Belize on one of my two cruises, but your experience is the one I would have preferred. We went to the zoo and a natural pool. Not what I envisioned at all. Love your pictures!

  5. amazing and so lovely your captures….the place looks like an adventure waiting to be explored lol…
thank you for sharing, Kymber 🤍

    1. Thank you so much. 🙂 No, that’s a pic I pulled off of Pixabay to use for my featured photo. I sure wish we had thought to get a pic of us like that. It was such a lovely trip.
