Happy timezones, friends!
Here is my progress for January:
I want to read more of the “Witches of Palmetto Point” series by Wendy Wang since I’ve read 5 of them. So far, there are 13 books in the series.
I would also like to return to the “Amelia Peabody” series by Elizabeth Peters.
Another series I started was “The Haunted” by Lee Mountford, and I would like to continue reading these books.
There are so many books on my TBR, I want to read them all!
Movies I still want to see are The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (I love Viola Davis), & Killers of the Flower Moon with Leonardo DiCaprio Rober Di Niro, and Brendan Fraser.
Some exciting movies are coming in 2024 like The Crow and Nosferatu with Bill Skarsgård, Dune Part Two with Timothée Chalamet, and Florence Pugh (I will watch any movie with Florence Pugh in it), and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Other movies I’m looking forward to are Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, A Quiet Place: Day One, Beetlejuice 2, Joker: Folie à Deux, and Wicked Part 1.
What did you read in January, and what was your favorite?
What did you watch, and what did you think about it?
January was a good month, even though we got buried in snow. lol I hope wherever you are, January was good to you, too.
Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! You are important!

I’m afraid my reading is not as prolific as yours Kymber. Still working my way through the Outlander series but getting closer to the end, just before the new Book 10 comes out. As to movies, watched Casablanca recently, still a classic. Have seen Barbie and Oppenheimer, but after seeing the Oscars have a few more I need to see. Have a happy Tuesday. Allan
You reminded me I still haven’t seen the newest Hunger Games. I’m super excited about Dune 2 – will definitely see it in the theater. I didn’t realize a remake of The Crow was coming out this year. I’m a big fan of the one with Brandon Lee.
Thank you, Terri. I want to see the newest Hunger Games in the worst way. And soon, Dune 2 will be out! Woot woot! I’m a big fan of the Brandon Lee Crow, too. There are just so many I can’t wait to see.
Those Haunted books look especially creepy. Glad you enjoyed them and want to continue. Hope you have a good February!
Thank you! I hope you have a great February, too.
Those books are definitely creepy. 😀
Those are impressive lists, Kymber. I always wish I were a faster reader. Now on top of it, my eyes tire so quickly…
I haven’t read anything from Barbara Michaels in years. Those two are intriguing. Hugs.
Thank you so much, Teagan. Oh, yes, I understand what you mean. Sometimes if I’m listening to an audio book on my phone, I can put the phone in my apron pocket and clean and do things that don’t take much thought while I’m listening.
I always loved Barbara Michaels, but I have to say the second of the two books in this series didn’t really seem that good. I feel awkward saying that about an author’s work because I know all the countless hours that go into a project. I just didn’t enjoy that one as much, I guess.
Hugs xo
I appreciate your mindful reply, Kymber. I feel the same way when it comes to other indie authors. I find something good to say, or I’m silent. However, I’m somewhat less generous with big name writers.
You are certainly a super reader. I read four books in January and I am currently reading three books, but one of them is in French.
Wow! That’s impressive to me. I wish I was multilingual. I could also never read more than one book at a time. I do tend to plow through books rather quickly, but I think reading four books in January is outstanding! 🙂
You ole showoff! 🤨 I only got through 4 books and had to have a drink or two getting through those with my action pack list of things to do…non-stop!!! 🏃🏻♀️ I am not worthy! LOL 😍🥂😜 Read on girlfriend, read on!!! 📖📚📓
LOL You’re so funny. 😀 Here I am without an action pack list of things to do non-stop. haha That’s the difference! 😀 I still think you’re the greatest, and honestly, 4 books isn’t anything to sneeze at. LOL 😍🥂😜😍🥂😜
Thanks for the pat on the back Kymber! So why am I sneezing??? 🤣😲😜 Hugs and smooches my sweet ChickiePotPie!!! 🥰💖😘
Hahaha! You are so funny! I love it, gf! LOLOL 💖😘
Lot’s of reading. When do you digest what you read?
That’s a good question. lol I’ve been a reader like this my whole life. My mom and dad would go to the library every couple weeks and bring me back stacks and stacks of books. And sometimes, I still ran out of things to read. lol
I’m currently reading “Zipped” by Laura and Tom McNeal.
I’m not crazy about it, but curious to see how it ends. It’s weird; and creepy (not in a scary way but in a predator kind of way). It’s about a 15-year-old boy and his stepmother is cheating on his father — and the guy she cheats with is a high school teacher who hits on the young girls; and he has this college girl he’s friends with who teases him….It’s just too “ewww” for my tastes, but I started it, so I shall finish. I just can’t believe a husband and wife team came up with this idiotic story together. I guess neither is the brains of the family.
The books you’re reading sound so much better! LOL!
That sounds kind of icky, but I’m like you. I always try to finish even if it’s the biggest slog ever. lol That last one I read wasn’t the best, but it was passable. I hope the next book you read is one you end up loving! 🙂
Neat to read about the books and shows/movies that you enjoyed in this month. I think previously you mentioned watching “A Murder at the End of the World” … I saw that a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. The show had a good use of alternating scenes in the snow-bound hotel with flashbacks. And it had me guessing as to the murderer!
Yes, I was guessing the entire time, too! And I was so wrong! LOL I enjoyed that show quite a bit.
What a fabulous month of entertainment, Kymber! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Jan. It’s been a great month!
Great summary–I like the idea of using Goodreads to check your progress. I read several non-fic I’ll be reviewing next week. Really enjoyed them.
Thank you, Jacqui. I can’t wait to see your reviews!
January was a good month, still is 🙂
Yes, I think so, too! 🙂 xo
