A backyard Michigan sunrise.

A Brief Family Conversation, in Text

So, our family has a group chat to keep everyone updated. If you’re in the family in any way, you’re in this chat.

This conversation took place on Thanksgiving, in the morning, verbatim:

Allen:
Carol: Poor guy.
Mom: Guess he didn’t get pardoned.
Anna:
Kari: Happy Thanksgiving!
Carol: Happy Thanksgiving, ya’ll!
All of the rest of us, in turn: Happy Thanksgiving!
Allen: Kari hit a bird driving.
Mom: A turkey?
Carol: I didn’t know birds could drive.
Anna: They’re so dumb, they’re smart.

😂😁🤣

The Mister and I are so mesmerized by the sunrise photo our daughter Katy-Lady took. I hope you will find it as beautiful as we do. Michigan is gorgeous no matter what time of year. ⛅☀️🌞

Thank you so much for reading, liking, lurking, and commenting! I hope you have a terrific weekend!

  1. Your family has a great sense of humour! 😂 And you daughter captured a beautiful sunrise! 😍 Wonderful way to start your Thanksgiving holiday. 🥂

    1. Thank you so much, Ana. Family should always be your safe place to fall. I’m sorry to hear that about yours. Maybe some day they will learn to get along. I wish you all the happiness in the world. xoxo

      1. Haha, far as I know they get along great, all despising me! But even their togetherness, to me, seems shallow and crass. I’ve wondered if every generation feels this way about the one which follows. I know my own mother, coming from European high nobility, totally felt that way about me. Anyway, it’s so good to “peek in on” you all being happy with one another. One tends to forget, in my position, that other positions still exist and thrive. Thanks for the jolly reminder!

  2. Oh what a family! This part of the group text I love:

Allen: Kari hit a bird driving.
    Mom: A turkey?
Carol: I didn’t know birds could drive.
Anna: They’re so dumb, they’re smart.

Oh my gosh, I am dying laughing at the comedians in the room! 😂😜🤣

        1. I was born a Hoosier but my dad was from Michigan. Both my sisters were born in Illinois. I’ve lived in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. But I’ve been in Michigan for something like 43 years. No matter where we lived, we were Tiger fans. lol

            1. Very nice! 🙂 And now you’re in Michigan.? And your sister, too. 😀

We moved every 6 months to a year when I was a kid. I lived in many different towns and cities in those states. I’m so grateful we stayed put in Michigan. We only moved once in MI. I finally got to lay down some roots. 🙂
