Halloween at the Hawkes was so much fun! Where I live, you might have to shovel snow and mow the grass in the same day. LOL
It was a cold day, but really nice outside. Until it was time for trick or treating. Then it began to snow. And snow. And snow.
As the above cartoon illustrates, in Michigan, you either make the Halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit, or you label the children’s coats. LOL
Everyone came to our house as usual. It was beyond lovely to have the whole family together.
Here is our little Jody-Bear with Katy-Lady. Yes, I have nicknames for everyone.
There was a small dispute between Jody’s parents on whether he was a gator🐊 or a dinosaur🦖.
(I’m sitting in the chair behind them with both girls in my lap and a pile of books.)
Lilly was fascinated by the snow. She remembers last year it didn’t snow.
I asked Lilly what she was, and she said, “I’m a bamfire!” She meant vampire.🧛
She then proceeded to ask if we had any fake blood (because bamfires bite people), or fake bamfire teeth. lol
Lyra was a witch🧹, but much to her despair, her hat kept falling off. As you can see, she got over it fast.
Lyra explaining how excited she is. 😀 She will be 3 in just a few days and we’re attending a tea party for her on Sunday.
I hope your Halloween was a happy one, too!
I had intended on publishing the next chapter in Old Stone today, but it’s not ready yet. There is more I want to do with it. Stay tuned, though! 🙂
Thank you so much for reading, writing, lurking, and commenting! I appreciate you and I hope this weekend finds you well.

Your family is beautiful and the Littles are so cute! Glad I’m not the only one who had to wear a giant coat over my Halloween costume lol
Thank you so much, Raymond. I’m so geeked to see you. 😀
LOL You’re definitely not the only one. 😀
Thank you for sharing your Halloween with your family!!.. can tell by the smiles that everyone enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful time together…“To me there is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter.” ( P. T. Barnum)… 🙂
Hope life is all you wish for it to be with you and your family and until we meet again…
May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
Brightened by a song
in your heart,
And warmed by the smiles
of people you love.
(Irish Saying)
Thank you so much, Larry. 🙂 I love that quote. I hope your weekend finds you well.
Happy birthday to your little one! They are all so cute!
Thank you so much, Jacquie! I think the reason I love Halloween so much is seeing all the kids’ costumes. 😀
Awww! Ta be a child at Halloween. Such fun for the little ones. Love your photos and I hope this Halloween season was a fun one!
Thank you so much. 🙂 It was a wonderful Halloween. With everyone’s busy lives, it’s nice to have an evening where we can all come together for some fun. 🙂
Hi Kymber, the photographs are adorable. Interestingly enough, we had freezing weather (by southern African standards) for spring over Halloween. Our lake was steaming as the outside cold hit the hot water.
Thank you so much. 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. Wow! Your weather sounds pretty unpredictable, too. 😀 That would be cool to see the steam rising from the lake.
Thanks, Kymber. It was very interesting.
Oh my goodness Kymber, these are some precious photos girlfriend. 📸 What a beautiful family you have. Looks like you all had oodles of fun! Love the costumes and those priceless smiles that warmed my heart, oh my, what can I say? Thanks so much for sharing Chickie Pie! Hugs and smooches to all of you! 🥰💖😘💞😍

Thank you for the share. Beautiful pics – soooo happy for you all.
Thank you so much Peter-James. I hope you had a lovely weekend.
Halloween is for them. The little ones can go around dressed like one of their dreams and truly live a fantasy. A great tradition and a great holiday. Your kids look so happy!
You are so right about Halloween being for the children. I couldn’t agree more. It gives them an opportunity to explore their dreams. I’m glad you think the kids look happy. I think they are. 🙂
Such cuties! They look adorable in their costumes and you can see the excitement in their faces. 😀
Thank you so much, Debbie. 🙂 They really were so excited. It was a magical night. 🙂
Precious! I think a Gator would have orange instead of yellow. lol It looks like a dinosaur to me, but I can see a gator there, too.
Thank you so much, George. You know, I think you’re right about the gator needing orange, not yellow. 😀 I thought it was dinosaurish, too. 😀
Loved seeing the kiddos but missed seeing you! Let ‘em take your picture next time! Are they grandkids?
Thank you, Kim. I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing the kids in their costumes. 🙂 Ooooh, I avoid the camera like the plague! LOLOL Maybe someday.
Yes, I call them “the Littles,” and they are our grandchildren. Our daughter Katy is the one holding the baby gator (or dinosaur?) up. lol
Thanks for clearing that up! Enjoy your weekend!
You, too. I hope you have a great weekend!
.
The childrem are adorable and the costumes are great
Thank you so much, Thomas. We had a wonderful time. 🙂 I hope you’re having a good weekend.
Awwww the kiddos are so cute!!! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much. We had a really good day and evening. 🤍🐱☕
I hope you have a good weekend.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing a joyous day, Kymber.
You’re so welcome. I’m glad you stopped by and enjoyed the post. 🙂
😁
What a wonderful post, Kymber. I love the photos and the “bamfire.” LOL. My nephew use to call popsicles “poskittles.” 35 years later we still call them poskittles. My bet is that the bamfires will be a lasting contribution to your family’s vocabulary. Glad you had a fun Halloween.
I think you’re right about “bamfires,” Diana. LOL I love that, “poskittles.” I’m glad that word is still used in your family. What great memories it must bring up whenever one of you says it.
Our son used to call the TV remote a “merote,” and to this day, we still all call it that. lol
LOL. Exactly. I love that.
These children are adorable, Kymber! We hardly ever have snow in Texas and the cartoon made me laugh. Glad you had a fun Halloween!
LOL. Thank you, Jan, I think they’re pretty special. 😀 The first time I ever went to Texas, I was a teenager and it snowed. It wasn’t sticking to the ground much, but I was flabbergasted because it seemed no matter where I went, snow followed. lol 😀 It hasn’t snowed any other time I’ve been there.
I’m glad you laughed. 😀 😀
It was cold here in Ithaca, as well. Post-trick or treat the crew came by to be warmed up with soup and salad at the GPs.
That sounds like a lovely way to end the evening. We ordered pizza because everyone was coming at different times, but that would have been easy to do with soup, as you did, too.
By the time the trick or treaters got back, there was a couple of inches of snow on the ground.
Very cute photos!
Thank you so much, Dawn. 🤍👻🧹🦇
You did have a wonderful time. Kids make it, don’t they.
They sure do! 🤍👻🧹🦇 I love seeing the world through their eyes.
Such adorable kids and it looks like an amazing Halloween!
Thank you so much. 🤍👻🧹🦇 We had a terrific time.
