Happy timezones, friends!
Here is my progress for October:
I would like to read more of the “Witches of Palmetto Point” series by Wendy Wang since I’ve read 4 of them. So far, there are 13 in the series.
I would also like to return to the “Amelia Peabody” series by Elizabeth Peters.
No matter what, though, I’m looking forward to some holiday reading.
Ahsoka – Season 1 | Only Murders in the Building – Season 3 | The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – Season 1 |
No One Will Save You | Wolf Like Me – Season 2 | Frasier – Season 1 |
Five Nights at Freddy’s | The Fall of the House of Usher – Miniseries | Bodies – Miniseries |
Talk to Me | Loki – Season 2 | Scream 4 |
Salem’s Lot (1979) | Salem’s Lot (2004) | Fright Night (1985) |
Clash of the Gods – Miniseries | Apocalypto | Halloween (1978) |

What did you read in October, and what was your favorite?
What did you watch and what did you think about it?
That’s it for October! I hope it was a good month for you, and I also want to say Happy Halloween to those who celebrate!

What did you think of Frankenstein? It’s so different from the movies, etc. Dracula I found a bit of a slog, but I think I was about 20 when I read it. And Carmilla was interesting for its lesbianism that like no one talked about back in the day.
I thought Frankenstein was terrific! For Mary Shelley to have written that at such a young age, well, I think that is amazing. I felt for the Creature and wanted only happiness for him. Frankenstein, as it turns out, was the real monster.
I can see why Dracula hits you that way, definitely. For some reason, I just loved it.
I agree with what you said about Carmilla. The first time I read it, I was still in my teens. I’m glad I reread it now.
Carmilla is definitely worth a reread! So is Frankenstein. And you’re right; Frankenstein is the real monster, There are a lot of subtleties overlooked in the popular movies.
Oh, yes, 100% agree with you on that!
Thank you for sharing!!.. decided to avoid the horror stories/movies, stayed with romance, mystery, etc.. read Agatha Christie and watch The Sound of Music.. 🙂
Hope all is well in your part of the universe, life is all that you wish for it to be and until we meet again…
May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your heart only know love and happiness
On your journey through life.

I think it’s a fine thing to focus on romances or mysteries instead of horror. I love Agatha Christie, and The Sound of Music, too. 🙂
That’s an impressive list. I checked out Wendy Wang’s Haunting Charlie, and although it sounds great, I’m not much of a horror fan.
HappyNovember!
Thank you, Jina. 🤍🐱☕
Happy November! I can’t wait to begin some holiday reading!
Neat that you read several classic horror books 🙂 I read “The Forever War” (well done), “The Somnambulist” (so-so), and “The Book of Delights” (an amazing smile of a book).
As for your list of shows and movies, I also saw — and enjoyed: “No One Will Save You,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “Bodies.”
Other than those, I finished watching “Killing Eve.” An enjoyable show with quirky characters and some surprises along the way.
Thank you, Dave. I wanted reading some classics to be my goal for October. I just bought The Book of Delights because I saw on your blog that you enjoyed it. I can’t wait to get started.
I like “Killing Eve,” too. It’s a great show that is well done.
I hope you like “The Book of Delights” 🙂
Thank you. I’m sure I will. 🙂

Thank you so much. I hope you had a nice Halloween.
Lots of spooky reads and shows, Kymber. I hope you can sleep after that, lol
Thanks, Jacquie. Yeah, I am an insomniac, so maybe I should tone it down. LOL
Thanks for sharing idea
Thank you, my pleasure.
Happy Halloween! 👻 👽 🧙 🧛 🦇 🦉 🕷 🕸 🍬 🍭
Thank you. I hope you had a lovely one.
Girl, I don’t know how you find the time to read all of these books, but girlfriend, as I told you before, you are one Reading Beast! 📗📚📙 Love it and congrats with only two more months to go! You will reach and exceed your very aggressive reading goal! 👍🏼
LOL The Reading Beast! I still love it. haha I’m still shooting to reach my goal of 100 books for the year. I’m on #92 at the moment. This book and I are getting off to a rough start, but I’m going to keep with it. Hopefully, it gets better.
Girl, I admire your determination. 📗📖📕 I am confident you will meet your goal before the end of the year. I had some challenges with the flow of the storylines of a few I recently read. It was like pulling teeth, but like you, I tried to stick with them! Oh boy! 😝
It’s hard sometimes. LOL I’m hoping this one I’m reading picks up some.
Well, if it doesn’t, then you have a truckload of others to switch over to! LOL 📒📚📗
I know that’s right! LOL 😺🖤🤣😂
😂😜🤣
Looks like a wonderful month of reading, Kymber!
Thank you, Jan. I’m still shooting for my reading goal of 100 books for the year. Keep your fingers crossed for me. lol
Looks like you had a great month of reading, Kymber. Some classics in there that I’d like to read one day. Enjoy your November line up!
Hi, Diana. October was definitely a good reading month. It was good to read some classics.
Fun reads for sure, Kymber. You are the first I’ve seen with an X share button
Thank you, John. It was nice to read some classics for a change.
My theme seemed to change it.
😁
Love this layout, Kymber. We don’t have a lot of crossovers, but it’s great to see your taste in reading.
Thank you, Jacqui. I’m glad you liked the layout. That’s good to know.
