Happy Timezones, dear friends! I’m writing today because I’ve run into an issue I wish to make you aware of.
Story Spinner is a self-hosted site and it’s come to my attention that, once again, my host is raising the prices due to an upgrade they want me to do. As you can imagine, I’m not happy with this.
My site is my hobby, and I spend a lot of time making little tweaks here and there, and I attempt to provide interesting content. It’s just getting harder and harder, though, to pay these rising expenses.
Due to the massive cost of the upgrade, I have decided to migrate to another host. I’m not sure when exactly this will take place, and hopefully, you won’t be bothered by this too much. Things are bound to look different, even strange, during this process.
But I will post again once it’s done.
Thank you so much for understand. Wish me luck! lol

I totally understand Kymber the cost was definitely a factor for me.
Yes, exactly. You are so right about that.
Thanks for sharing this idea
Thank you for sharing!!.. sorry that you are having issues and I can understand about hosting.. hopefully you will be able to find the host that will be what you wish for it to be and you can share more of your stories and thoughts with us!… 🙂
Hope your dreams come true, you have a wonderful day, every day, and until we meet again…
May the sun shine all day long
Everything go right, nothing go wrong
May those you love bring love back to you
And may all the wishes you wish come true
May your troubles be less
Your blessings be more
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door
(Irish Saying)
I’ve moved hosts a few times. Once, I did it myself. Then, it got too complicated for my aging brain and I had others do it for me. I’m with GoDaddy right now. Seems to work pretty well.
Good luck, Kymber, and let us know when you’ve migrated. 🙂
If you can’t get satisfaction, I’ve been using WordPress’s free platform for nearly six years now. No bells or whistles, but room for text, images, quotes, etc. You might find yourself less frustrated if you’re not actually paying to be frustrated! Let us know where you go ~ we don’t want to lose you!
Good luck!
Thanks for the heads-up, Kymber. Wishing you success with the changeover 🙂
trying to find a host/platform i the very worst and the really good ones are getting more expensive all the time, very best of luck and catch you on the other side!
Oh gosh, this sucks Kymber. 😫 Good luck on finding a new host my dear. I can only imagine how frustrating this is. Hang in there Chickie Pie! 🥰💖😊
Good luck!
Hey, girlfriend! I hope you are well and happy!
Hi, Ana! I am doing well–hope you are, too!
Wishing you good luck. I was self-hosted for a while and returned to WordPress.com. Though there is not as much freedom as being self-hosted, I at least have piece of mind. I’ll see you at your site.
Good luck and a safe landing on the new server
I’m sure you’ll get there in no time, Kymber! See you at the new site!
Good luck with the migration. See you on your new site.
Let me know. Your stories are too good to lose!
Maybe I’ll even follow.
I will follow you anywhere. I hope it is easy.
I hope the process is a smooth and easy one!
Best wishes! 🙂
Let me know where you will be so I can follow you
Yes! Please 🙏 keep us posted!! Blessings for your new platform and best of luck to you! Will follow you wherever you land 😊
Wishing you the best. Let us know where you’ll be so we can keep in touch!
Totally agree on the cost – wish you well and good luck!
Best wishes for a successful move! 🤞 Hosting companies seem to think everyone is using their site for business purposes, which puts us hobbyists at a disadvantage. Bluehost has been my provider from the beginning (10 years now) and they have pulled similar stunts in the past, but were willing to negotiate. Also, if you are able to pay three years in advance, the price is significantly cheaper per month. I hope your new host does right by you.
All the best! I hope you find what you are looking for.
Ok and all the best as you make the changes. Blessings.
May the host-migrating spirits be ever on your side. 😉
Thank you so much, Kaye! 🙂
